Chapter 2 - Transformation
I couldn't see anything. I slowly opened my eyes. I was in a bright white room. I sat up, and rubbed my eyes. "Hello Artemis," a voice said. I whipped my head around. There was a man. He had beautiful wings erupting from his back, but he wasn't wearing floor-length white robes like an angel. He was wearing a plaid red buttoned-down and jeans. "Come with me," he said.
I shakily got up and followed him. He led me through the strangest of rooms. One of them had a million dogs barking their heads off. Meanwhile, there were several angels-but-not-angels observing them with clipboards. Finally, he came to a stop. There were three angels sitting in three chairs. "Artemis!" the middle one said with a kind smile. "We've been waiting for you." I frowned, confused. "You have?" I said. They nodded. "If we're correct, you wished to get away, right?" the right one said. I nodded slowly. "Yeah," I said. "Do you care where?" the left one asked with a sly smile, "Because we have the perfect place for you if you don't mind." I shook my head. "No, as long as it's away." He grinned wider. "I am going to have Darrell lead you to the stylist's room. There, you will pick out your new name and body. Then, you will be off," he said. I nodded, still not particularly sure what was happening.
We entered a cool room with very dim lighting. There was a single angel-but-not-angel in the center of the room. She held a tablet-looking thing. "Hi Artemis," she said with a smile. She showed me her tablet. "Time for your new name," she said. There were hundreds of name combinations. I picked the one I liked best: Aurora Rickburg (don't judge me people). "Good," the lady said. She then led me over to a different tablet. This one showed different bodies. I picked one that had long, curly, golden hair and icy blue eyes. I never liked my hair anyways. Then, she showed me outfits I could wear on my first day as Aurora. I chose a dark purple hoodie to contrast my hair with a pink undershirt that was just visible. I picked black skinny jeans and combat boots to go with it.
Finally, I was ushered to a strange tube-looking thing. She told me to step inside it. I obliged. She waved, and pressed the big red button (so cliché). I felt myself spinning again. Everything went black.
