Chapter 3 - Introductions
I woke up in some kind of apartment building. I was right in front of a door. A note fluttered down. Knock on the door directly in front of you, it read. I felt some stuff in my pockets. I felt them, and figured out that there was a phone and some money. Not knowing what else to do, I knocked on the door. A few seconds later, a young man opened it. I suddenly wished I had put on more flattering clothing.
The man had brown hair that swooped to the left. He had sparkling brown eyes that you could melt in. He smiled. "Hello," he said. He had a British accent, so I must be somewhere in England. "I- I'm sorry to bother you, but... I'm lost," I said. I mentally slapped myself. Why'd you stutter? He smiled again. "Oh no, not at all. Phil! We have a guest!" he called through the apartment. There's another one? I thought, now a bit frustrated. I understood why the angel-but-not-angel was so happy. He was sending me to the house of two hot guys in their 20s. The man called Phil skipped up to the door. He looked older than the first one, but he had sort of a childish vibe. This man had black hair that swooped to his left, and hazel eyes. Standing next to each other, they looked like they could be brothers.
"What is it, Dan?" Phil asked. Dan gestured to me. Phil turned to face me. Once he saw me, he immediately blushed, which made me blush. "Hi," he said shyly. I couldn't help but smile. Dan was standing in the background, clearly holding back a laugh. "Come in," Phil said. Surprised, I said, "Oh, that's okay, you really don't have to. I was just wondering where I was." Phil shared a glance with Dan. "You're in London," Dan said. Well, that explains the accents, I thought. "I insist," Phil said. I laughed nervously. "Ok," I said. I entered their apartment, Dan and Phil behind me. I stood awkwardly by their sofa. Dan smiled at me, and I felt my heart flutter. "I'm Dan, and this is Phil," he said. "I-I'm Art- I mean Aurora," I said. Phil smiled. "Aurora. I like that."
"So, what brings you to London?" Dan asked. "Well, I, um, decided to move here. But then I got lost, and here I am," I said, hoping he didn't catch the lie. Luckily, he didn't. I was sitting on one couch and Dan and Phil were sitting side-by-side on the other. Now that I had met them, I didn't think they were brothers anymore. We talked for a long time. Soon enough, I was joking and laughing with them as if we'd been friends for years. I discovered that Dan and Phil were best friends. Soon, I looked at the time. I gasped. "Oh no!" I said. Dan frowned at me. "What is it, Aurora?" he asked. "It's getting late, and I don't know where I should stay," I said quietly. Phil blushed. "Well, you could stay with us. We have an extra room," he said. Dan smiled and nodded enthusiastically. "Ok," I said. Phil smiled. Dan got up. "I'm gonna go make some tea. Would you like any?" he asked. I shook my head. "No thanks," I said. Dan smiled at me again, and left.
