DYLAN LEE was West Valley Highs sweetest girl in school with the meanest friends to ever exist.

For as long as Dylan could remember, she had been friends with Moon and Yasmine: West Valleys most popular and meanest girls in school.

The two girls hadn't always been mean girls—Moon wasn't technically mean but she never stopped Yasmine's constant insults to their classmates. And Yasmine used to be just as sweet as Dylan. She would let Dylan hide in her shoulder whenever they would watch a horror movie and she came over the first time Dylan was left home alone with her little sister, Devon while their dad spent the night at the hospital with the girls mother.

But once they hit middle school, Yasmine became filled with a bitter hatred for every kid who was different from her. She still had her nice moments. When Dylan's mom died, Yasmine was the one that sat with her day after day. The passing happened over summer and Moon was on vacation. Dylan would tell Yasmine over and over again that she didn't have to stay for as long as she did, but Yasmine didn't budge from her spot on Dylan's bed, saying she'd be there for as long as the girl needed.

Despite Yasmine being there for her, Dylan let a resentment boil in her stomach toward the blonde and her mean comments toward undeserving kids.

Dylan held in and built up that resentment all throughout middle school and when she was finally starting high school, Dylan was tempted to ditch her friends and find a new group, but she couldn't leave Moon and Yasmine. They were still her best friends.

So Dylan tried to knock some sense into Yasmine; tell her that what she was saying about their classmates were cruel, but all of Dylan's words just went in one ear and out the other.

Over the summer going into sophomore year, Moon introduced Dylan and Yasmine to Samantha LaRusso and after a handful of hangouts, Sam was officially a part of the group.

Like Moon, Sam was too scared to comment on Yasmine's insults and would only respond to them with a laugh. But Sam watched as Dylan continued to try and get Yasmine to stop her constant spew of hatred and she honestly admired the girl for it.

As summer went on, Sam started to cling to Dylan. They would give each other rides everywhere, they'd have one on one sleepovers, Dylan would go over to Sam's family dinners, the two become glued to the hip.

Late at night, that point of a sleepover where you become so sleep deprived, you spill your deepest, darkest secrets, Dylan told Sam about the old Yasmine and the hatred she's started to grow for this new version of the girl and Sam just listened to it all, only responding with a small nod or the faintest "mhm."

Now, school was back in session and Dylan was starting her sophomore year of high school. In the midst of a karate outbreak taking over the valley, the resentment towards one of her dearest friends finally boils over.
