Act One: The Arrival
Chapter Twenty-Four: Vampire Baseball and Isabella Has a Meltdown

Rosalie had invited Lena to play baseball with them and the blonde witch agreed, Rosalie said that since Edward was bringing Isabella it was only fair that she and Alice got to bring Lena.

Edward had disagreed, but ultimately Carlisle shut him down and told Rosalie that she could invite the blonde witch. The Cullen Patriarch knew that Edward would be foolish to make an enemy out of the blonde because of the power her family holds, but the bronze-haired vampire wouldn't listen to reason.

The Coven leader had tried to explain it to his eldest, but Edward just wasn't having it, too lost in Bella's ass to realize how big of a mistake he was making and how it could cost him his life if he made the wrong move against the blonde witch, and he probably wouldn't realize it until it was too late.

Lena was meeting them at the Cullen house, and then going with them to the place where they were playing baseball, that was where she was currently headed. She knew that Isabella and Edwerido were going to be there, that was the first thing that Rosalie told her when she invited the blonde to come, but she knew that she could ignore them long enough to enjoy spending time with her friends.

Lena pulled up to the house and got out of her car and immediately was pulled into a hug by Alice, "Lena! That baseball jersey looks so cute on you!"

Lena laughed, reciprocating the hug, "Thank you, Ali, it's one of my dad's old ones."

Rose looked at her, "Your dad plays baseball?"

"Yeah he's a minor league player, he owns the team he plays for, and his best friend Wesley is a co-owner but manages the team since dad can't manage it while he's actively playing on the team."

"Wow, that's cool, Lena."

Lena grinned at that, "Yeah he's actually really good too, Dad could definitely go major league if he wanted, he's got the talent for it... so whichever team I'm against in this game better watch out because I know what I'm doing when it comes to baseball."

They laughed as they made their way toward Emmett's Jeep. Carlisle, Esme, and the others were already there, Rose and Alice went back to the house to pick Lena up. So the trio got into the jeep and Rosalie drove back to the clearing where they were going to be playing baseball.

Once they arrived and got out of the Jeep, Edward said nothing and got into the Jeep and drove off to pick Isabella up.

Alice smiled at the blonde as they approached the others, "W don't you sleep over tonight, Lena?"

"Sounds like a plan Ali, after the game I'll go and get some clothes and stuff, and we'll have a sleepover, it's been ages since I've had one."

"Yaay!" Alice clapped happily, making Lena and the others laugh. They were just waiting for Edward and Isabella to show up before they started.

Rose smirked, "I want Lena on my team."

Lena smirked as well. "I am so down for that."

Carlisle nodded at the two, "Very well then, Lena can be on your team, Rosalie." The two high-fived at that, Carlisle smiled at the two he was happy that Rosalie had warmed up to Lena so quickly, but he expected it after Alice told them about her vision of the two blondes being friends.

They made small talk while waiting for the other two to arrive, Isabella scowled the moment that she saw Lena there, Edward seeing the look on her face, gave her a sympathetic look, "Sorry that she's here love, but I tried to talk Carlisle out of letting her come, but he wouldn't listen which is odd because he normally does whatever I want him to do."

"She ruins everything." the dull brunette scoffed as they got out of the Jeep and made their way to the others."

Esme smiled warmly at the brunette, "Good thing you're here. We need a umpire."

Emmett had a teasing look as he looked at Esme, "She thinks we cheat."

The woman gave him a look, "I know you cheat. Call 'em as you see 'em, Bella."

That was when the brunette noticed Lena out on the field with Rosalie, She scoffed lowly, not seeing why Lena got to actually play, and she had to be the umpire when they were both human.

Lena rolled her eyes at Isabella's thoughts. Alice is standing on the pitcher's mound, "It's time." she said, Just as a deep rumble of thunder shakes the forest. And the game begins, Isabella stays by Esme, who plays catcher. Alice pitches with lightning-fast speed. Edward and Emmett take positions in the outfield.

Rosalie smashes the ball with the aluminum bat. It cracks like thunder and is followed directly by real thunder. Lena smirked, she knew this was going to be interesting.

Isabella looked at Esme, "Now I get why you need the thunder." The ball shoots like a meteor deep into the forest, rocketing through the trees. Edward disappears after it. "That has to be a home run."

Esme shook her head, "Edward's very fast."

Rosalie darts around the bases, almost a blur, Edward races out of the forest with the ball and whips it to home plate. Esme catches it a millisecond before Rosalie slides in. "You're out!" Esme nodded at her while Rosalie glared.

Lena was up to bat after Rosalie, she silently did a spell giving herself equal strength to a vampire to make it more of a fair shot. But she didn't tell any of them that she was doing it, and smirked. "Don't go easy on me, Ali."

The Pixie-like vampire grinned at her, "Wouldn't dream of it, Lena." Alice threw the ball as she said, not going easy on the blonde witch, and Lena smashed her bat into the ball at full strength and sent it flying. As soon as the ball was out of sight, Lena took off running around the bases she made it to third base before Edward reappeared with the ball throwing it to Esme, but Lena stayed where she was on third base meaning that she was safe.

Carlisle was next up to bat and he hit a line drive. Edward and Emmett race for the catch, diving 15 feet and colliding, As soon as Carlisle takes off Lena dashes to home base scoring a point for her team. Edward and Emmett collided with such might that it sounded like enormous boulders falling. They missed the ball, which meant that Carlisle made it back to home base and was safe.

Rosalie high-fived Lena for scoring them a point, making the blonde witch bow dramatically. Isabella watched this with a scowl that was supposed to be her that all the Cullens were fawning over, not Lena.

Jasper was next up to bat and whacked the ball deep into the forest. But before Edward could chase it, Alice suddenly gasped. "Stop! I didn't see them..." They all stop. Edward is immediately at Bella's side. The family and Lena instantly gather at home plate. "They're traveling so quickly"

Rosalie looked at her, "You said they left the county."

Alice looked at her, "They did, but then they heard us..." She looked at all of them, "and they changed their minds."

Edward turned to Isabella, "Put your hair down"

Rosalie scoffed giving him a look, "Like that'll help. I could smell her from across the field."

Edward ignores Rosalie as he arranges Bella's hair. "I shouldn't have brought you here. I'm so sorry." Lena rolled her eyes, she should have known that something was going to happen since Isabella was involved.

The dull brunette was about to ask what Edward had meant when, suddenly, they all turned as one toward the edge of the forest. There's a faint rustle... then James, Victoria, and Laurent emerge, barefoot with deep burgundy eyes, Laurent holds up the baseball. "I believe this belongs to you."

He tosses the ball, but his casual toss is still blindingly fast to Dr. Cullen, who easily catches it and smiles politely. "Thank you."

"Could you use three more players?"

Carlisle who still had a polite smile on his face said, "Of course,"

"I'm Laurent. This is Victoria. And James."

The Cullen patriarch nodded at him, "Would you like to bat first?" Laurent picks up a bat. The Cullen's take the field. Dr. Cullen is the catcher, Edward is on first, with Bella behind him, near the Jeep. Isabella sees that Edward's eyes are locked on James. Laurent is at bat first.

Lena rolled her eyes, but she was standing next to Rosalie, she knew that her blood wouldn't appeal to the three vampires, but Rosalie had silently told her to stay by her and the blonde witch opted to listen just in case.

"I'm afraid your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us," Carlisle said.

"Our apologies. We didn't realize the territory had been claimed."

"Yes, we maintain a permanent residence."

The three newcomers exchange a look of surprise. "Really? Well, we won't be a problem anymore."

"The humans were tracking us, but we led them East."

Jasper pitches the ball -- Laurent slams it, but Alice is up a tree is a flash, and the ball slams into Alice's hand with a thwap. Laurent is pissed, but James smiles ever so slightly, delighted at the discovery of worthy opponents.

James is up next and he power-slams it with amazing force... He runs past first, past Edward, past Bella... the wind from the ball ruffles her hair, carrying her scent, which floats to James who suddenly screeches to a halt. His head whips around at her, and he lurches into a crouch, his nostrils flaring, excitedly, eyes locked on Isabella.

Lena audibly groaned at that, but no one really paid her any attention besides Rosalie, who also rolled her eyes at the brunette causing problems for them.

James' attention was still zeroed in on Isabella, "You brought a snack." Edward springs in front of Bella, baring his teeth. A truly menacing, feral snarl rips from his throat. James growls back.

Lena wanted to scream, she knew that she would get dragged into whatever mess was about to happen, but refrained from doing so.

Everything really happened so quickly after that and the three newcomers were asked to leave, but Lena had seen in James' mind that he would hunt Isabella down being a tracker made the hunt his favorite part of what was a game to him, Edward had also seen that as well.

Edward had taken off with Isabella, Carlisle looked at the ones remaining and nodded, they were going to chase the three vampires. So Jasper, Carlisle, and a very reluctant Rosalie sped off in the direction the vampires disappeared into.

Alice looked at Lena, "Will you come with us?"

She agreed only because she knew how much it would piss Isabella off. "I'll grab some stuff from the house and meet you back at your house."

"How are you going to get there since your car is at our house."

Lena smirked, "I've got that covered Ali, another gift from my grandmother."

Alice nodded, understanding where she was going with that. And then the blonde witch disappeared in a puff of pink smoke, she could teleport short distances, so say from where they were to Charlie's and then to the Cullen house before she would need to rest to use it again.

The blonde appeared in another puff of pink smoke in her bedroom at Charlie's house, and she gathered a few things figuring that she would be gone for a couple of days, but she did text Charlie and let him know that she was sleeping over at the Cullen's place so that he wouldn't call her dad when she didn't come back that night.

Charlie texted her back saying 'Okay, thanks for letting me know.' and The blonde was set. Though she did shoot a text to her other friends, Jess being the one to whom she told the whole story, she didn't want them to worry about her, so to Lauren and Angela she said that she might be gone for a few days and that it was something supernatural related that she couldn't explain about at that time.

Right after that, she heard the front door slam open and activated her spell to enhance her hearing because she was nosey and wanted to see what story Edward and Isabella had concocted for this.

She heard Edward and Isabella's 'fight' and the door slamming shut and then Charlie trying to talk to Isabella who snapped, "I have to get out of this place. Out of Forks. I'm leaving. Now."

Lena heard Isabella running up the stairs and a second set of footsteps, meaning Charlie had followed her up. And then another door slamming, and then Isabella talking to Edward, and then Charlie trying to figure out what happened by questioning his daughter.

Isabella snapped again, "That's why I have to leave. I don't want this. I want to go home." Lena winces at the harshness in the girl's voice, which is completely unnecessary, and Charlie doesn't deserve that.

Lena was going to wait until Edward and Isabella were gone before she headed back. The blonde witch listened as the father and daughter made their way down the stairs, with Charlie trying to talk Isabella out of leaving.

But his words weren't convincing her, instead, she snapped at him again, "Like watch more baseball on the flat screen? Or go to the Coffee Shop? Same people, same steak, same berry cobbler every night? That's you, Dad. Not me."

There was a hurt tone in Charlie's voice as he spoke again, but it was something Isabella didn't pay attention to as she all but screamed at her father. "And if I don't get out now, I'm going to get stuck here like mom did" That was another thing that made Lena wince, knowing that was a cheap shot at the man. And then Isabella stormed out of the house, leaving a stunned and heartbroken Charlie behind.

Lena would have gone down there had the man not thought that she wasn't already at the Cullen house, since that was where she told him she was in her text. After Isabella's truck was no longer within hearing distance, she removed the spell, grabbed her stuff, and teleported to the Cullen house in another puff of pink smoke.

Edward and Isabella arrived not too long after that and Lena glared at the girl, "You know that was a little harsh and such a low blow even for you... and no I'm not going to tell you how I know that, I just do."

Isabella scoffed at the blonde, "As if you even care."

Lena snorted, "Well apparently I care more than you because I would not have said that or been that harsh when it wasn't necessary, literally could have lied and said you would be staying at friends even though you don't have those, he didn't need to know that."

Edward stood in front of Isabella as Lena glared at her, making the blonde witch roll her eyes, "As if you scare me."

All right so Lena's three powers from being a Legacy of Aphrodite are, Bond Sight, Charmspeak, and Teleportation, This was the perfect chapter to introduce the third one XD Anyway we now only have three chapters left in Twilight, and then three chapters that take palace between the end of Twilight and the beginning of New Moon (:, and then we start Act two which will be New Moon.
