Act One: The Arrival
Chapter Twenty-One: Prom Dress Shopping

The following Monday after the trip to the beach, Lena and her friends were sitting at a table outside because it was actually warm, and the sun was out for once, and they were talking amongst themselves.

Isabella fumed at the fact that the three girls would rather hang out with her stupid step-sister than her, she forcibly placed herself between Angela and Jessica. Attempting to force herself into the conversation. But she would not so subtly look around every now and then making the four girls roll their eyes.

Jessica gave her an annoyed look, "he's not here, and he's not coming."

Isabella glared at her, "and how do you know that?"

Jess stood her ground though, "Well for one, the sun is out, which means that the Cullens won't be at school today, meaning Edward won't be here today."

"What does that have to do with Edward not coming to school?"

Lauren gave her a look, "Well whenever the weather is sunny, Dr and Mrs. Cullen pull all of them out of school for the day or days depending on how long the warm sunny weather lasts... so like Jess said he's not coming today."

With that, the four girls went back to soaking in the sun while talking to each other and ignoring Isabella, they were talking about going shopping for their prom dresses.

Lauren looked at her fellow blonde, "We so need to go shopping in Port Angeles after school today."

Jessica agrees, "Yes, we need to go before all the good dresses get picked."

Lena nodded, "All right then girls, I'm down, and I'll drive, so we meet at the house." Jessica and Angela both drove themselves that day or else they could have just left right from the school when it was over, they didn't want to leave their cars at the school.

"Yeah, it'll be fun." Angela agreed.

Then Isabella just invited herself "Oh shopping in Port Angeles? Sounds like fun. I'll be there too." though she really only wanted to go to the bookstore there because it had the book that she was looking for to find out the Cullen's secret.

Lauren went to say something only for Lena to shake her head slightly at the other blonde, Lena knew that it was useless to tell her that she couldn't come because she'd force herself into the car with them either way, but she did plan to possibly ditch her in Port Angeles if she got on her nerves too bad.

A little bit later, Lauren looked at Lena, "Why did you stop me from telling the bitch she couldn't come with us?"

"Because I knew she would just force herself into the cat when we got ready to leave..."

The other blonde nodded in understanding now, "Oh okay, gotcha Lena."

So by the end of the school day, Isabella stormed out to her truck after realizing that Lauren and Jessica were correct and Edward nor any of the Cullens showed up at school that day.

Isabella was waiting in the driveway when Lena and the other girls pulled into the driveway, she really did just invite herself because as soon as Lena unlocked the doors for Jess and Ang, Isabella rushed into the backseat as well, making the four other girls roll their eyes since none of them even remotely liked her.

They tried their best to just ignore her on the drive up there, which wasn't hard since she surprisingly kept her mouth shut, which was honestly for the best. She didn't necessarily want to go shopping with them, but she had hoped to maybe turn the three girls against Lena somehow. Because she thought she was so much better than the blonde, but she failed to realize that it would not work in her favor.

They finally pulled into the parking lot of the dress shop in Port Angeles and the five of them entered the shop and immediately Lena's phone rang she chuckled seeing Alice's name on the screen, "I'll be right there girls, I need to take this." so she step back out onto the sidewalk and answered the phone, "Hi Alice, what did you see?"

"Hi Lena, not much just the perfect prom dress for you. I saw you try it on and oh my gods it looked absolutely stunning on you."

"Okay, you've got my attention, what does it look like, and I'll make sure it's the first one that I try on."

"Okay, so..." then Alice described it perfectly, "you will absolutely adore it as soon as you see it."

Lena laughed, "All right, then I will go in and find it, and I'll send you and Rosie pictures."

"Good you better!" Lena heard in the background, making her laugh again as she hung up the phone and walked into the shop, only to be met with her three friends looking annoyed at the brunette sitting in a chair looking bored.

"What happened?"

Lauren glared at Isabella, "I'll tell you later, let's just find our dresses."

Lena nodded and accepted the answer and looked around for the exact dress Alice had described to her, and she grinned when she would it, and Alice was right, Lena loved it as soon as she laid her eyes on it. "Found mine, just gonna try it on, but I am 100 percent certain that this is the dress for me." She grabbed it and headed into the fitting rooms she tried the dress on and took pictures sending them to the group chat she had with Alice and Rosalie, (being vampires makes using technology easier on Rosalie, Emmett, and Jasper just FYI, and Jessica's electronic stuff is specially made by the Hephaestus cabin to not attract monsters.)

"Girls... this is the dress hands down," Lena said before she walked out of the fitting room wearing the dress.

Lauren grinned, "damn Lena, you're right, that dress was practically made for you." Jess and Angela agreed with what Lauren had said, and Lena sent a "Thank You" text to Alice for the heads-up about the dress.

Isabella was left fuming that her plan had failed and then spoke louder than needed to say that dress shopping wasn't really her thing and that she just wanted to check out a book store in Port Angeles and then a group of guys walked past the window wolf whistling at the girls as they tried dresses on trying to find the perfect ones for Lauren, Jessica, and Angela. Bella basked in the attention, while the other girls were grossed and weirded out by them.

Isabella then left the shop heading to the bookstore and Lena looked at Lauren, "Okay, so what did she say earlier that had all three of you so annoyed?"

Jess scoffed, "The audacity of that bitch..."

Lauren then spoke up after Jess, "She literally tried to turn us against you in the five minutes you were on the phone."

Lena rolled her eyes at what she was told, "Of course the dumb bitch did, she didn't even want to come shopping with us just to go to that stupid bookstore for whatever reason and to annoy me obviously, but I am glad that you didn't believe whatever it was that she told you because in all honesty it was probably reversed, and she was the one that did it."

Lauren smiled at her, "Of course, we didn't believe her Lena, we know you by now, and you may be a bitch sometimes but only when provoked just like Jess or me." they spent a few more hours in the dress shop but by the end of the shopping trip they all had found the perfect dresses and were headed to the restaurant to get some food.

The four girls ate and had a good time just hanging out, they were laughing as they walked out of the restaurant they had almost forgotten that Isabella had come with them until they saw her in the parking lot with none other than Edward Cullen, making the four friends simultaneously roll their eyes as the two approached the group.

"Sorry, I kept Bella from meeting you guys earlier," Edward said as if they cared.

Lean shrugged, "Whatever," then she gave the vampire a look, "are you going to feed her and drive her home? Because we're not waiting for her."

"I should probably make sure she gets something to eat." the vampire answered.

Lena looked at her friends, "All right then let's go girls."

They all walked to Lena's car and Lauren let out a shudder, "god, he gives me the creeps... and it's just him, all the other Cullens are fine."

Angela nodded, "Yeah, I get that same feeling from him, Laur." then the four girls headed back towards Forks. Leaving a fuming Isabella with Edward, she was happy that he was finally paying attention to her, but she thought for sure that she could get Lena's friends to like her more than the blonde.
