Had A Good Day Today
How did it go so wrong?
Outer stood, his eyes wide as he stared a serial killer straight in the face. Stardust scattered over the pavement, feet pounded against the ground, screams rung out as countless monsters were slaughtered before his gaze. He couldn't move, his body paralyzed by fear. Every thought in his head screamed at him to move, to RUN, but his head was also underwater, as if everything around him was muffled and blurry. It was fear.
So much fear.
It clawed at his skull until it ate him from the inside out. When the murderer finally got to him, there wasn't even a need for him to do anything other than impale Outer, for the fear that the murderer sought was already milked dry. Outer found himself staring into the black emptiness which plagued his attacker's eye-sockets, the familiar black slime gushing from them.
An eye-catching red object levitated in front of the man's chest, glowing with dim sadistic glee. Killer simply leaned forward and wiped his hands on Outer's jacket as the poor skeleton stood as stiff as a statue. He leaned even closer, whispering something to him.
Outer's eye-sockets widened and Killer smiled at that, deciding to plunge his weapon deep into Outer and twisting until it made a sickening crack.
Outer, even as he felt himself falling, both apart and to the ground, the words lingered with him.
Even in death.
And then it was not so quiet.
And then there was something.
