Winter's POV:

"Daddy. No! I don't want to go on land!"

"Winter it is your punishment you will have to face. For sneaking off like that without telling me."

"Dad let me explain."

"No! It has been decided!"

" Daddy plea-"

"Winter you are not getting out of this."

Then the guards took me to the shore. My golden-orange tail reflected the sun off its shimmering scales. My brown wavy hair soaking wet. My sad green eyes saying "please."

I remember that day so well. It was only a week ago after all. I am still having trouble being on these... legs.

I was on land on my own. And I would prove to Daddy I would stay. However, first I need to be able to walk like I'm a normal human girl.

Finally! I mastered it!

Now were to go. Daddy said my 'Aunt' Cleo lived in a beach house along the beach. Probably why it's called a beach house. I was going to stay with her. I was supposed to anyway.

Father always said I resembled my mother. Her name is Rikki Chadwick. She is living on land and keeping her tail secret. She was living close to my Aunt.

I think dad forgot about mom because he NEVER mentions her. I mean ever. Its been 15 years since he mentioned her when I was 2.

Maybe it was time to meet her. I mean I have the right! I'm her daughter! Not to mention my full name is Winter Reef Chadwick.

I pictured her over the years since I was only two weeks old. When she had to go.

Mom had changed so much since I was a baby.

"Winter, is that really you?"

"Yeah. I have missed you so much."

We were not sure what to say next. Then I did not have to think of anything because a female, Brown- haired-adult, came running in. I have not mastered that.

"Cleo! Are they here?"

"Are who here?," I said with my never-ending AUSTRALIAN accent.

"Well explain later. Winter."

We'll here I was standing in front of two girls. One girl with straight-blonde hair and blue eyes. She wore a worn tank top(as humans called it). She wore I think they are called jeans and flip flops.

The other was supposed to resemble Cleo. Aunt Cleo. She was a mini Cleo. She wore a pair of shorts, a blue tank top and sneakers that were black and white.

"Hello. What are you names I asked?"

Tristen's POV:

Wow. This girl is like us. But she lived in water all her life. Not on land. Like Rose and I.

"Tristen. And my blonde friend here is rose. Nice to meet you. What's your power?"

"What do you mean, Tristen?"

Winter! You didn't know! We'll Rose and I would have to show her.

"Okay. So on land as mermaids we get some ability over water. There are four abilities which one do you have? Freeze? Boil? Or control?Or gel?"

"I don't know I've never been on land."

"Then we will just have to find out."

I could tell I had just scared Winter. But I did not care. I was obviously the dare devil if the group. Tristen being the serious one and Winter was the sensative one.
