TEACHING AT HOGWARTS : A.D
Hogwarts was a magical place, literally. It was filled with students wanting to grow their magical abilities, or use them to bully others. Most students were wonderful, but every once in a while they will be one that was a bully
This is when your best friend and colleague will step-in to intervene....most of the times. Not trusting you to give the 'best' advice to the young students. You will rather have Albus Dumbledore solve the issue than yourself.
Everyone around the school knew you as a Professors' Dynamic Duo. You were both talented wizards in your own right. Kind, smart and powerful professors who were always there for their student, making sure they were prepared for the real world. But most importantly, you and Albus Dumbledore were partners in crime around Hogwarts, a fearful duo that even the Ministry of Magic didn't dare to intervene.
You both led the Defense Against the Dark Arts classes, while you showed your true house colors of Hufflepuff, he showed his of Gryffindor Now, being a Hufflepuff did caused a bit of a hassle when it came to witnessing the students teasing others. Every once in a while, you will make sure the students who were teased knew how to throw a couple of spells themselves.
It all went well until the Headmaster caught up on the 'accidental' spells that were being thrown around by your own students. It was this very incident that caused Dumbledore to bail you out, siting something about how 'it wasn't their fault if students are too eager to practice it, so we will make a solution out of it' hence the Dueling Team was created. Even year's later, you questioned why Dumbledore decided to intervene in the first place, and how he was able to do it.
But of course it was clear that the students that were taught by both of you came out more than prepared for their future roles in the Ministry or otherwise. Even if the Ministry of Magic was more focused on questioning Albus Dumbledore, they should have question you by the small set of followers you had built from your fellow students, all of whom were ready to stop the bullies themselves.
"Isn't it curious how Gregarious Nocturn ended up with a tail and cat hears after mocking Katie Jones?" Dumbledore said witnessing you say goodbye to one of your students who had a question.
You shrugged. "What happened?" You questioned him.
"Apparently McGonagall caught sight of Nocturn crying, asking for forgiveness. To who knows what?" Dumbledore said to you. "The Minister of Magic got a box full of explosive snakes...very interesting." Dumbledore continued as the two of you walked down the halls.
"Well, that is very peculiar." You reminded him, thinking about it. "Please tide up those laces or you will fall." You called out to one of the students who seems to be always forgetting to do. "Fell all the way down the stairs yesterday. Broke a couple of bones...I was certain he will be flying out of Hogwarts by the time he reached the end of it." You quietly commented to your fellow wizard who snorted in response.
You both nodded to the current professor of potions before walking towards the bell tower. "It's quite interesting all this events. I wonder what must have happened..." You said to him, although you already guessed he knew.
"Well, if you are throwing a hex at someone. At least be more subtle about it." Dumbledore reminded you. You let out a small laugh, knowing the fact that you have been caught once more. It wasn't the first time.
"Please, you know it is amusing." You told him. "Plus, last time I checked that lawyer from the Ministry stopped bothering after my last hex. Did they not?" You questioned him quietly, sending a smile to the other students.
"Arms above the waist McKenzie!" You called out to the young Hufflepuff who was aimlessly flirting with another student. The fellow Hufflepuff dropped his hands to the side and blushed drastically.
"Yes, Professor l/n . Sorry!" He called out to you.
"They will end up together. I heard she has been dying to ask McKenzie out." You whispered to Dumbledore, finally able to reach the top of the clock tower. You sighed, looking up to the clouds ahead. "I heard that the ministry is looking for you. I don't know why now..." You sadly said to him.
"Probably heard of how you already taught the fourth year the most powerful counter curses there are." Dumbledore to you.
"You said it will be fine." You replied.
"Yeah...they did well." Dumbledore said, falling silent fairly quickly.
You frowned seeing the troubled face. "I know something is up. I can see it in your eyes...is about him. Right?" You questioned him. Dumbledore didn't say anything else. You looked at the students bellow with a bit sorrow, watching them aimlessly play. "He wouldn't dare to come here, would he?" You asked him.
"No. They all will be fine here." Dumbledore said to you.
"I really didn't got you in trouble with the Ministry?" You questioned again. This time Dumbledore smile at bit.
"No....I heard they will be coming to question me." Dumbledore to you.
You scoffed. "About what?" You asked him.
"About him. Something about them not believing I don't want to intervene." Dumbledore said to you. You sighed, looking down at the students and earning a set of waves from some. Dumbledore smiled at the sight. "I might need help with the boggart today." Dumbledore said, nodding towards some students who were yelling greeting to him as well.
"You are a good professor, Al. You know that, right?" You said to him. "I will bring my class for it as well. It might be best for all of them to be together...especially with the boggart. It's hard to be afraid when you aren't alone." You explained to him.
"You are a good friend." Albus said to you. You smiled, nudging him on the shoulder. "Just stay low from the ministry for a while." Albus said to you.
"That will be ok-" You began, but stopped when you saw two Hufflepuff set a prank to two Gryffindor's who were teasing a first year. The explosion caused the Gryffindor's to run away with paint all over their face.
You held back a laugh, brightly smiling at the sight. "I wouldn't tell if you wouldn't." You told Dumbledore, seeing his amusement at the event. The pact was signed by a simple hand shake.
. . .
But the moment that everyone was watching you closely was when they heard of the Ministry of Magic intervening the Defense Against the Dark Arts class that evening. All to put the admonitors to Albus Dumbledore. The most important question was, how you were able to keep a blank face throughout.
You did, and helped teach both classes, fully knowing how closely watched Dumbledore had been for months. Only to be freed once it was clear he hadn't been connected to Grindelwald. It didn't stop there. After Grindelwald's rally in Paris, you knew times were changing. War was about to break, you feared for all yours friends.
You watched how the last student left the classes with a giant smile on their face. They were finally able to do the spell after weeks of not being able to too. But you both were patient with them and it paid off.
"So...." You began turning to Dumbledore.
"Come on, you are dying to ask." Dumbledore said to you, cleaning up the classroom with a simple spell.
"Should I get the room ready? For both Scamander brothers and friends?" You said, sharing a look with him.
"Are you sure about this?" Dumbledore asked you.
You sent him a simple smile in response. "I don't know if I should be offended or shocked by your question." You said as a matter of fact. Dumbledore chuckled at you. "I do deliver quite the hex...So? Maybe that is more than an advantage?" You also noted.
You take a seat opposite to him. "You know...friends watch out for each other. Plus, if something tragic would have happened to you, then what's the fun of Hogwarts. I will have no one else to talk to." You added, a sad on your lips.
"I do need your help with this." Dumbledore said to you.
You smirked at him. "So when are we getting started then?" You asked him, earning a smile from him.
