THE ONE AND ONLY : R.W

Sometimes life is uneventful. Sometimes we loose someone that we care about the most. Someone we love. Sometimes the moment we realize we truly love them is when we ran out of time, when we loose them.

You and Ronald Weasley lived through the uneventful times. You were a Hufflepuff, one that even through all the struggles of life had prevailed. One that had their heart set on the second youngest of the Weasley. You had fallen for him with no prevention, and you had loved him every single second until you died. Until you died in the hands of some death eaters.

It was one evening in fourth year that began everything. You were a quiet person. Someone who tried to remain out of trouble as much as possible. Someone who was peaceful most of the time. However, you lost it when some Ravenclaw had complained about the 'horrible' teaching skill of the previous professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts: Remus Lupin. He was quiet man like yourself, and was kind enough to recommend good magic books to you one evening after he saw you reading a book that he had once read when he was younger.

"He was a horrible teacher. Did you even saw how he dressed?" A girl with raven hair said.

"Oh just like-" Another started, but you had cut them off before it continued on.

"Will you shut your bloody mouth?" You exclaimed at them. "Do you guys even listen to yourself? Some Slytherins have been more respectful than you two are being. That is saying a lot of things. Did you guys left your brain up in your own room? Cause you might need it to get back in." You stated, glaring at them.

The two ravenclaws held their tongue, looking insulted by your comment. The silent that your comment created was broken by a loud laugh. You turned your head to look a set of raven hair and one with bright red. Harry smacked Ron, seeing your eyes on them. The latter boy looked up to you, and held back his laugh.

In return, you sent them a small smile and a wink before walking away.

"Did they just wink at us?" Ron asked Harry.

"Idiots." Hermione murmured under her breath. "Of course they did." She added.

Later that week the ravenclaws tried to mock you during dinner. In return, you were planning a brilliant prank. But of course you needed help. The result was to go and ask the kings of pranks in the entire school: George and Fred Weasley.

You walked up to the two tall red heads with a book in your hand. "Excuse, Fred and George." You said, stopping them on their way to the dinner hall. You were nervous, but you fought against it. "You two are pretty much the kings of pranks. I need you to set me up one in particular." You told them, smiling lightly at them.

Both twins looked at each other, before looking back you with smirk on their faces. "Well, Georgie, look what we have here. A young prankster who needs our help. We can't say no, surely." Fred told his bother. The other twin nodded.

"Thank you." You told them. You took out a paper out of your bag and handed it to them. "Its payback against these two girls. Pretty annoying." You told them, see as the two of them eyed the paper. Their smirk widen, reading the plan of the prank.

"Oh, Freddie we might have found a mastermind after all." George told his twin. "Fred and George, at your service." The two of them said before bowing.

"y/n." You said, nodding at them.

The following day the Ravenclaw tower was off bound for a week. The amount of smelling bombs planted on the dorms of the girls affected the entire dormitory. You later thanked Luna for her help on getting inside in the first place. You even made sure to had snakes you had hidden in the girl's room, which you had transformed using a set of ropes laying around. It freaked everyone out.

You laughed at yourself at the memory of it. You stopped when you turned into a corner to almost crash into a set of red hair. You were shocked when you saw it wasn't a pair but a single one. "Sorry." You told Ron Weasley, as you studied his attractive face.

"It's okay." Ron told her. "Umm...you helped my brothers in a prank." Ron told you. You nodded at him.

"They helped me, actually. I don't know how I will ever thank them. They were very kind to do so." You added, looking up to him curiously. "We haven't met properly...I am guessing you are Weasley. You said brothers, so..." You said to him.

Ron nodded at you, but didn't say anything else. Instead he just stood frozen in front of you. "Do you like jokes?" You asked him curiously.

"Yeah." Ron answered you shortly.

"Well, what do you call a Slytherin that is always snitching on someone else?" You asked.

"Idiot?" Ron answered, too focused on you to think properly.

You laughed at him. "Well, it's actually a snake...but that works too." You said to him, laughing at your lame joke. "I am y/n " You said, showing him your hand. Ron just nodded and forgot to shake it. Then he took off, pointing at an off direction without saying goodbye.  You frowned confused at his behavior.

"Was it at least funny?" You yelled as you watched him go.

Ron was able to reach Hermione. By the time he did, his entire face was red from head to toe. "What's up with you?" Hermione asked him curiously, watching him look over his shoulder. Then she spotted you walking down the hall by yourself with a troubled face.

"They are a genius." Ron quietly mentioned to Hermione.

"Why?" She asked him.

"Because they are." Ron told her, watching you walk away from a distance. Then he spotted you walking to his brothers, who were waiting for your next orders.

"Well, well, well...hello general." Fred said to you, then shared a look with George.

"We are waiting for your next set go orders." George continued, looking at your with pure mischief in his eyes.

You watched over your shoulder, spotting Ron looking at you. You waved at him but he quickly 'hide' behind Hermione. You frown at his actions, and it extended when you saw Draco Malfoy tease Ron just to see his face.

Then when he stopped in front of you, he had the audacity to flirt, while mocking the Weasley Twins in the process. As you watched him go, your thought of your next orders carefully. "I got them...the next one to fall is him." You said with bitterness.

The following day during breakfast, Draco came running into the hall screaming for dear life. He crashed in front of the professor's table. "There is a were-wolf...and the dementors...it's bad...please." Draco silently pleaded in front of Dumbledore.

The Weasley Twins chuckled, tears falling through their eyes due to the laugh. Whereas you stayed quiet, watching the whole thing unfold. Ron quickly looked back at you, seeing the joy in Draco's reaction and took a guess that you were the mastermind behind it.

"What is that none-sense about dementors?" Harry asked the Twins.

Fred leant towards Harry. "y/n, or dear General, sent us great orders yesterday. Pay back for insulting the Weasley name." Fred told Harry. Ron continue to look at you from a distance, watching you in great detailed.

Then George sent a thumbs up to you before nodding to Draco. In sync Fred and George bowed to you from their place on the table. You laughed happily, catching Ron's attention. He looked at you as you turned back to your book.

"What about dementors." Hermione questioned them.

George chuckled at her. "Nothing a Hogwarts rope, and a little spell couldn't do. The rest was up to Malfoy." George nodded to her.

"Told you they were a genius." Ron said as he continued to watch you. Then Fred and George called out your name, and pointed at Ron. Ron stopped and turned to his food ignoring you. You sighed, walking up to him. "Why would you do that for?" Ron questioned his brothers. "I don't want to talk to them." He said to them.

Then you stopped as you heard his words. "Do I bother you that much?" You quietly questioned him, your voice dying down.

Ron stopped eating, and couldn't form the words. He slowly turned to look at you, which was a mistake because he clearly saw your pained expression. "It's okay....it's good to know." You quietly noted, holding the book closer to your chest. "I will...have a good day." You mentioned to him before walking away from the table.

"Well, look at that. You are an idiot." Fred and George said at the same time, taking off to follow you.

Ron swore loudly, earning him a glare from McGonagall who had heard him. Then he stood up and took off after you. "I am sorry!" Ron called out to you.

You stopped on your tracks. "I.." You began but stopped when Ron cut you off.

"You are funny...I am not funny like you. You are a genius." He said to her before looking down at the floor. "I meant to say that before." He quietly added.

"Thank you." You said, smiling up to him. "I like to think that you got a nice laugh." You added.

Ron blushed at your words. "A laugh?" Ron asked you.

"I saw your reaction when Professor Moody turned Malfoy into a ferret. Quite the sight..." You said as you began to giggle at the memory. "I have to go to..." You began but he cut you off.

"I will go with you...can I?" Ron asked you.

"To the library?" You questioned him curiously. Ron nodded at her. "I didn't know you liked the library." You teased him.

"It has books." Ron noted, noticing how much he was failing at this. You laughed linking arms with him before walking towards the library. From a distance Fred and George looked curiously at the two of them.

"I think so, Georgie...." He said sharing a look with his twin.

"I know, Freddy." He said to him.

It was safe to say that Ron took his time to realize he had really fallen for you. So, when fifth year went around, you hang out with him more and more, already feeling the same way with him. Hermione could see it too, just like everyone else. Which is why when you joined Dumbledore's Army, Ron volunteered to walk you back to your common room every day after the meeting.

Harry tried to tag along the first time and the Weasley Twins stopped him. He was not going to ruin this, and he truly wasn't. It will be Ron and others who will.

You stopped one night after the meeting, tapping your wand to your other hands. "I...Ron...Thank you for walking me back." You told him. "I really like you..." You said to him with a small smile.

"Me too, you are good friend." Ron told her. Your heart broke at the words. "You are always there for me...and if Malfoy continues to ask you out I will step in if needed." Ron added to her.

"Thank you." You said sadly to him. Then she thought about your next words carefully. "What if I were to date someone else?" You questioned him.

Ron frowned, thinking about it more. "Who?" He asked her.

"You." You quietly said to him.

Ron then chuckled at her, not knowing what to do. "Well..." He started, but didn't know what to say.

"You think it's a bad idea...or good? I think it might be good." You tried to explained to him, watching his reaction carefully. Ron took off without saying anything, not knowing what answer to give you.

"Yeah." He called out, leaving you alone in the hall. He never walked you back to your common room after that.

The following meeting with Dumbledore's Army, you watched how Ron rushed to Hermione and then ran out of the room before you could say anything else. You sighed, picking up your bag from the floor with a mournful look.

Harry noticed you walking by yourself towards the common room. He sighed, walking away from Cho Chang and quickly catching up to you. "Hi..." He said to you.

You looked up to him noticing Harry. "Hi...what are you doing? Aren't you going back?" You asked him.

"I like walking across Hogwarts. Are you back to your common room?" He asked you. You simply nodded at him. You knew better, but appreciated the gesture. "Me too." He added. At moment you almost broke down crying, accepting his offer.

"Thank you." You said, walking in comfortable silence. "I believed you since the beginning. I know he is back...makes me scare of what can happen. You must be having one hell of a year, I bet." You said to him.

Harry smiled at you, accepting your words. "Thank you." It was his time to say it. He had only spoken you briefly when you were with Ron. "You like quidditch...I seen you on the games against Gryffindor." Harry mentioned to you.

You nodded in reply, and he was quick to spot how quiet you were. But he also knew that it didn't mean you didn't observe. You always had. "Does Ron hate me? You don't have to answer if you don't want to." You said to him carefully.

Harry scoffed at the idea. "Nah, he loves you." Harry told you. Then he realized what he admitted, but didn't say anything else.

"Okay." You quietly said. But you weren't that convinced, and doubted the signals that you have gotten from Ron.

The two shared a smile as you approached the common room. "Thank you, Harry. I appreciate it. You are good...I am sorry if other people call you a madman. But if you need anything just let me know." You said to him before waving him a goodbye.

Harry smiled at you one last time. Then he waited for you to be inside to walk back to his common room. Then he smacked Ron in the arm, but didn't told him what you had confined in him. On the distance Fred and George shared a look, and turned to Ron. "Idiot." They mumbled under their breath.

. . .

The true heartbreak came in the sixth year. One that even made Harry's heart break. Ron had gotten himself into a relationship with Lavender Brown. Hermione asked you to intervene, but you never did. No, if he was happy so were you.

Harry found you crying one time at the end of the hall. The war was clearly coming and Weasley Twins weren't there to help you through it.

He sighed, talking a seat next to you. You quickly hide your tears. "I am sorry.." You began, but Harry just shook his head and placed a hand on your shoulder. "Does Ron hate me? We used to talk all the time and now...now he doesn't." You quietly said to him.

Harry sighed, looking up to her. "No...he doesn't know how to talk to you. Honestly, he doesn't know how to talk to anyone else." Harry mentioned to you. You snorted at the words. "You like him...don't you?" Harry asked you.

You have him a sad smile, trying to dry your set of tears. "I always had. He had a nice laugh." You mentioned to him. Harry let sat next to you keeping you company the rest of the afternoon.

The following evening, you stopped in dinning hall because of Lavender Brown's abonotius laugh. You flinched at the sound of it, but stopped when you spotted Ron looking at you. He looked down at his food quickly. "Come here, my love..." Lavender started, and you could see Ron flinch at the mere thought. All you did was laugh loudly. The laugh that had been hiding since the end of 5th year.

Everyone turned to look at you as you laughed at the scene. Some people even started to laugh with you are the mere sound of it. While Harry smirked, watching Ron turn his attention to you. The laugh that he loved dearly.

Lavender Brown turned her head to you and glared. "What?" She asked, which made you break into even strong laugh. Hermione hide her smile behind her hands, watching the scene. "What is so funny!" Lavender yelled at her. Harry chuckled not being able to hold it any longer neither.

The outburst caused you almost fall due to the laugh coming out of you. Ron broke down laughing too, looking at your eyes. You shared a smile with him. "You sure you didn't drink a love potion?" You asked Ron in between giggles. This broke Harry into a new set of giggles.

"Trust me, I think I would have noticed." Ron said, looking up to you. Hermione rolled her eyes at him.

Harry broke into a full loud laugh at it, causing Lavender to stand up in fury. "A love potion? How dare you?" She asked.

"You tried to sneak one to Harry last year and failed because I intervened. Just checking..." You said to her. "What was it?.....A valentine cards with his face plastered on the front....You are my chosen one..." You recalled in between laughs. It was safe to say, that you saved Harry from Lavender that one day, and quickly burden the card. Then Ginny did some kissing noises in the background, causing you to break in hysterics.

Ron chuckled at your actions, and Lavender turned to look at him with fury. "It isn't funny..." She said to him. She was in hysterics at the action. "We are over..." She yelled at Ron before running off fuming at it. At the outburst Hermione broke a full laugh with Harry who had his face on the table, not being able to contain the laughter.

Ron looked up to you like you were his savior.  He continued to laugh as you approached him. "Sorry about that..." You said to Ron sadly, not expecting the events to end up like this.

"You are my savior." Ron said to you. You nodded at him before walking away from the table. His words breaking your appetite. Harry sent a look to Ron so he could follow you out, which he did.

Ron caught up with you in the hall, making your way to the library. He stopped by talking a hold of your arm. You frowned seeing him. "Look, I am sorry about Lavender. Truly." You started but Ron cut you off.

"I am sorry too.." He said to you.

"You didn't do anything." You noted to him.

Ron sighed, looking down at his hands. "I...Do you want to go to Hogmade with me." Ron questioned you. You nodded sending him a bright smile, and then raising your hand. Ron chuckled, linking your pinkie with his. "It's a date..is that okay?" Ron asked you.

Then she pressed a soft kiss on his cheek. "That's all I wanted." You quietly admitted to him. "I promise I didn't send you a love potion." You joked, causing him to laugh with you.

Eventually the end of the year came, with a tragedy amidst. Dumbledore had died, and Death Eaters had arrived to the halls. While you stood holding Ron's hand on the funeral there was an uneasy feeling in your body.

That last day, making sure the youngest of your house were all settle for the ride back, to promised yourself you will go back. But it appeared your favorite red head wasn't. He sat opposite to you on the train. "You had this look ever since Dumbledore die, so what is it?" You questioned him.

Ron sighed looking up to her. "Promise you wouldn't tell a single soul." He asked you. You pulled you hand up, showing him your pinkie. He connected his with you, almost like a promise. "I am not coming back next year. Harry..." He started but you didn't want to push him.

"It's okay. He needs all the help he can get. I will be staying with Neville here." You said to him. Ron looked like the ghost, and you softly took a seat next to him.

"I wouldn't be here...I don't know if I can write even." Ron told you in whispers. You pulled him closer to you, so that he rested against your side, hugging you.

"It's will be okay. You will see. Evil never wins. Even if we think it will, it never does. I will be here waiting, and we will be okay." You whispered to him, passing a hand on his hair. It was the moment he broke down crying, holding you tightly. "I love you." You whispered to him over and over, letting him know that it will be okay.

All the happiness of from dates and time together seem to hold still. It was moments like this that Ron held closely to him after May 2, 1998.

It will be the last peace they will get, for they didn't know the fate that they will meet.

. . .

You made sure to keep the first-year as safe as possible from the new death-eaters around Hogwarts on your final year. One that you will never get to finish. You will die with many of whom defended the school, their home, from the evils of Voldemort. It was on evening of 1998, when Ron had seen you last. The evening were he desperately wished he hadn't wasted time with Lavender, or figuring out to talk to you. Wishing he could turn back the time, all to tell you how he loved you, loved your smile, your witty sense of humor.

You held back the evil wizards as they were breaking in into Hogwarts, sending the fourth years to guide the first years to safety.

Then looking at the incoming wizards, you looked at your fellow Hufflepuffs. "Two steps back...1...2...3!" You yelled and they followed your instruction. Then raising your wand, you send a spell to the Death Eaters, sending at least twenty on them flying into the unknown.

"Blimey!" Harry said behind you. You quickly looked over your shoulder, smiling brightly at him. You didn't hold back a hug that you gave him, happy to see him. Then you pulled away to see Ron, without a second thought he pulled you into kiss.

"I told Harry, you can deliver quite the hit." Ron said to you, smiling brightly at you.

"Rooting for me? Huh?" You said before giving him a brief kiss. The last you will give him.

Then you turned to the famous wizard. "I can buy some time." You said to them. Harry nodded at  you before holding a hand out for you to shake, but instead you hugged him. "Thank you for always being my friend." She admitted to him, and pulled away.

"Check with Finn, he knows which hall is the clearest. We will hold them off from your way as much as we can." You reminded them. Then you nodded to the fifth year Hufflepuff. "Lead their way...." You told him before turning to incoming wizards.

You frowned deeply seeing more of them coming in. Ron called for you, but you shook your head. "Go with Harry." You instructed to him, and he followed his friend but his eye on you. It was a mistake, because he saw it.

He saw the incoming green spells coming towards you.  You reminded as the rest of them took cover someone else. You held them as much as you could. But there were too many to hold on your own, even if you had the back-up of your fellow Hufflepuff.

Ron watched how the Avada Kedavra hit you on the chest. Hermione held him back from running towards the incoming wizards. All he could do was yell, yell to the emptiness. But no matter how much he yelled, you will never him. You will never hear him admit to himself that he loved you. He never got a chance to do so.
