TWO CAN PLAY THE GAME : T.R

Tom Riddle thought he could foolish the most powerful girl in Hogwarts. The girl who could have  possibly destined his downfall. That girl was you. The rising evil wizard knew he continue with his plan of world destruction with you on his path. He will be doomed to fail if he didn't do anything about it. So he did the only thing he could thought possible: conquer your heart. It was simple, use his cunning skills to let you inside his life, so that he could slowly destroy you.

He was in the cunning house after all.

You were a seer. An intelligent wizard, whose destiny was to destroy the evil wizard in the near future. You were clever, and you had seen how Tom Riddle quietly turned into the dark magic for aid on his wicked plans. Quietly you watched the boy who you shared most of your classes with.

It was one late afternoon in your sixth year that Tom Riddle had decided to start his plan after carefully thinking about it. He thought about every little thing that could possibly go wrong. Well, not everything.

You walked down the stairs of the Hogwarts, clutching your books as you walked back to the Great Hall for dinner. You stopped, hearing quiet steps from behind you. When you turned around you saw Tom, smirking at you.

"y/n, isn't it?" He asked you.

You nodded, watching his behavior. The mysterious boy showed you a hand but you didn't shook it. Instead you looked ahead of you. "Dinner is about to be served." You told him.

"You know what is about to be served, don't you?" Tom asked her.

"How will I possibly know that? Tom." You said, turning around and walking down the last steps.

"You should have been a Ravenclaw. You got a brilliant brain." Tom told you as he followed you around. "You are a seer, you can see the future." Tom added, making you stop. He smirked at you. "I need your help on something." He said to you.

You shook your head. "I don't want anything from you. Nor I will give you my help." You replied, before continue your way to dinner.

"You know, the perks of being a Slytherin is that you can-" He began before you cut him off.

"Being Slytherin doesn't justify your use of dark magic. Its an insult to your house and every other person who is just, and doesn't result into that like you Riddle." You answered not looking back at him.

Tom sighed, this was not going as he wished to. He pulled out his wand to use some spell on you, but you were quicker. Turning around you screamed. "Expelliarmus!" You yelled disarming the boy. "Stupefy!" She added, causing the Riddle boy to fall a few meters back. "Try anything on me again and I swear that I will use more than just a disarming spell." You replied before storming off.

Riddle sarcastically laughed at you. He took a hold of his wand, before aiming at you again. However, this time he was stopped by a loud voice. "Mr.Riddle! What are you possibly doing with a wand pointing at an student." You heard the voice of your favorite professor say.

You turned around, giving an smirk to Tom. Albus Dumbledore walked to Tom, followed by McGonagall. "She aimed at me first!" Tom told her.

"How could I possibly do that? I was not even facing you." You answered, sending him an smirk.

"You disarmed me." He debated.

"Well very well done, Ms.y/l/n. The classes turned out to work after all." Dumbledore told you, nodding at you.

"But-" Tom was about to cut in but was stopped by Dumbledore.

"Aim at somebody, without a warning; and you should know that they will fight back. It's simple logic." Dumbledore told the dark young wizard. "Now, Minevra will you help me escort this students to the dinner hall, we don't want another fight like this." The elder professor told her. The woman nodded, walking side by side with you.

Tom stopped in front of you, glaring at you with pure hatred. "Next time I would kill you." He told you before running off.

You sighed, knowing that the threat was real. You had briefly seen the pain that he will cause in the future. You knew the darkness within him, and it scared you a little. "The darkness only consumes us only if we let it do so." Dumbledore told you, seeing your worried face.

. . .

You sat down in front of a mandrake, writing down some notes about it. You knew it will be helpful some day. As you were noting down the information you felt someone behind you. You turned around, seeing Tom Riddle looking at you with a smirk.

"Trying to kill me? I could use this mandrake against you." You told him, glaring at him.

"Really, what could a small plant do to me?" Tom asked you.

"That's for you to find out yourself." You told him, sending him a fake smile.

"You are the brightest and most beautiful woman that I know." He told her. You let out a sarcastic laugh. Tom put a rose in front of you. "Those flowers represent passion, and love." Tom told you, walking closer to you.

"They also represent danger and death. The thorns hurt you, don't they?" You replied.

"Maybe love is like that. Passionate but hurtful." Tom told her. "I needed you to help me with something. I am struggling in Defense Against the Dark Arts." Tom mentioned to her, taking a seat near her.

The girl frowned at him. "You are lying." You noted.

"Well, I want to know more about you. I will lie if it means to be with you more often." Tom replied.

"You sound like a creep." You told him, glaring slightly.

"I am trying to be romantic." Tom replied back with a small smirk. You glared at him. "I need someone to help me. I don't trust people easily. I chose you. At of all the people at Hogwarts you were the only one who captivated me. I admire you." Tom whispered to her before leaning down to kiss your cheek. You backed off, shaking your head.

You stood up from your seat, putting your stuff away before taking the mandrake with you. "Is that a yes?" Tom yelled, seeing you walk away. He groaned in annoyance. You were not easily convinced. Tom thought it could have been easy to convince you. He was wrong. It was the most difficult thing he had done. You were a challenge to him, and that seemed to spark his interest on you even more.

. . .

You took a seat in front of Dumbledore's desk. "I think he is planning something, sir. Something that I don't know of...but I have a feeling is something bad. Something really bad. I-" You started, but stopped for  minute, thinking of weather to tell him the news or not. "I saw death. I saw people dead. The scariest thing was...I saw Hogwarts. I saw the halls and...I saw students. Then a snake that had an skull over it. When I looked up...I saw Tom...but the setting changed. There were some type of tunnels with snakes on them." You informed Dumbledore.

The elder man nodded at you. "When was this?" Dumbledore asked you.

"I don't know when its going to happen. I just...I just see glimpse on my dreams. Sometimes I have to really seat down and uncover the meaning behind them." You added. You looked down at your hands. "He wants to recruit me, so I had an idea." You said looking up at the wizard. "He wouldn't suspect anything. I could get close to him and inform you of anything. Possibly note it down for future reference." You said to him.

"Future reference?" Dumbledore asked you.

"I heard some words. Something about the devil's downfall. I think its a prophecy, or it will become one at least." You whispered to Dumbledore. You knew the dangers that were about to happen. You felt it in every fiber of your bone. "I want to stop all this evil Dumbledore. If I can do it, then so be it. I will do such thing." You swore to him.

"Even if it risks your life? You're young. You got a life in front of you. You don't have to get involve into all this." Dumbledore told her.

You stood up, seeing Fawkes from where you sat. "I will never life with myself if something happened, and I couldn't stop it when I could. I am willing to do that, if it means that the good will prevail." You added.

Dumbledore nodded at her. "I see. Well then, so be it." He told her. "Just be careful, y/n. Evil tend to sometimes consume us if we only let it." He reminded her.

. . .

As the months turned into years. You lied to Tom Riddle. He had quietly fallen in love with you, and he tried to make you believe it. But you never did. You aid him, but quietly wrote down the details you knew. Tom Riddle did not suspect of you helping him.

It all turned into a sudden stop when seventh year came around. You had informed Dumbledore about everything that had happened. You have even kept a secret diary, in which you had noted everything, ready to give it to the professor when time was right.

You now sat near the cottage where the keeper of animal creatures lived. The green grass was warm, due to the sun. You were still slightly shaken from the dream that you had earlier that morning. You had dreamt of a big snake eating you alive. When you woke up, you were in a dark forest and in front of you was Tom. He had a wand pointed at her before a green light went around you.

"What you doing there, darling?" You heard a voice whisper from behind you. You closed the book quickly turning around to see him. The one who will destroy lives in the future. You hummed a response, acknowledging his existence. "What do you have there?" He asked her.

"Diary." You answered.

"I keep a diary too." Tom told her.

You remained quiet, watching him. "The potion didn't work." He told her.

"What potion?" You asked him curiously.

"It didn't kill her." He cut in, looking at you. You stared at him confused, your stomach dropping slightly. "It didn't kill Lucy. She knows too much about us. About what we plan." He told you, keeling down beside you.

You stood there frozen. "What?" You whispered in fear.

"The potion you helped me make." Tom told you.

You shook your head, remembering answering questions about a potion that had deadly after effects. You knew what he was making, so you had warned Dumbledore. What you didn't expect was the fact that he had mentioned you. As if you were part of his own plan.

"We will reign together." He told you before kissing your lips. You pulled away, glaring at him.

"No." You replied to him, frowning at the kiss. "Is that what you want?" You asked him.

"All I want is you." He whispered to you. You shook your head, knowing that the only thing he could truly fill his heart was death itself. "All I want is you. You could be my queen. We will reign this kingdom together. Just see it...once all muggles, mudbloods are all gone we will-" He began, but you cut him off, shaking in anger.

"No." You whispered to him shaking your head. "That is not the right path." You whispered to him.

"Hufflepuff, loyal. Loyal to me." Tom told you. You let out a sarcastic laugh. "What?" He asked you.

"I don't belong to any one...and less you." You told him proudly. You stood up, looking at him. You knew you still needed to keep your facade, but you couldn't. You had too much fury within you.

"I love you." Tom told her, taking your hands.

"You tried to kill a person." You stated. "I will not be a killer." You added, taking a few steps back.

Tom took out his wand and pointed it at you. You shook your head, looking at him in the eyes. "I see you can see through my lies." Tom told her. "I wanted your help and now I have everything I need to do it. Thanks to you of course." Tom added to her.

You shook your head, giving him an accomplished smile. "Keep beliving that, Tom. You will loose eventually. You will be surprised." You said, walking closer to him. "You see, I knew what you were doing with that potion. I changed it on purpose. I gave you the wrong ingredients. You see, two can play the game of lies. You were just fooled by me." You said, smirking proudly at him.

Tom wanted to end you right there out of fury, but he couldn't. He didn't. He stood frozen there in his spot as you started to walk away. "Tick tock, Tom. You downfall has begun." You told him, sending him one last smirk at him.

That was the last day anyone saw you. You disappear without a trace thanks to Dumbledore. You watched as the years passed, and it was not until decades later that Dumbledore will give the brightest witch of her age, along with the chosen one, that diary with everything they needed to know.
