"SWEETHEART, you're undeniably charismatic!"
Andrus' voice echoed inside the whole room. I awkwardly replied with a smile. Krestie clapped her hands while gazing at my face as if she was satisfied with her work.
"I have never loved my profession this much," she mumbled.
"I guess, her face is inspiring just as her roots."
I don't know how to respond to their unusual comments that's why I acted like it was nothing and just stood up to get dressed.
"I have to go, I need to get dressed. Thank you, I really appreciate it!"
Andrus and Krestie came closer to hug me and tried to calm my nerves as much as they could to relieve the so-called nervousness. Soon after their hug, the other hair stylist hugged me as well while whispering their encouraging words. I really appreciate these people even though I'm not comfortable with their previous comments, though they look like a compliment.
"Is this your first runway walk? Gosh, you must be nervous!"
"Girl, I'm telling you! You'll manage to pull it off. Just be confident with yourself and with your walk. It's all about confidence!"
"Good luck, sissy!"
"Good luck, miss-ma'am!"
"I'll keep that in my mind, I promise. Thank you for taking care of me!"
I left the door after their warm hug and encouraging words. When I left the room, I saw the other models who just got their hair and make-up done, walking across the hallway to another doorway which seems to be the dressing room. As I have decided to follow them and my instinct, I went there as well. When I entered the room, it was also vast and huge. There are plenty of long and humongous clothing racks in there with an uncountable number of clothes hung on them.
Just like how every runway model does it, I went to every rack one by one to look for my assigned clothes. Every outfit was covered with a cover and every model's name is plastered on it as well as the numbers. The numbers are used to rank the models, to determine who will open the show and who'll follow 'till it reaches the closing walk for the last cloth. Usually, the pressure is always on the opening as it sets the mood and the opening model leads the following models.
I've got two numbers which means I have to walk two times and dress myself up again. Such nuisance is always inevitable occurs in this industry. There are times that a model is required to walk seven or more a day. So, I will just consider this adequate enough for me.
I took the first dress and wore it inside the mini dressing room that was attached to every corner of the room. The dressing room was made of thick cloth, if my hunch is correct, it has a similar texture to rubber but its appearance reminds me of thick fabric. When I went in, it was like I was in another world. It was moderately dark but I managed to wear the dress properly. Having to open the runway show doesn't concern me, what concerns me the most is my current size and figure. I'm not sure if this dress will fit me the way It did before when I last wore it.
After wearing it, I went out and tried to practice my walking to monitor myself with it. Does it fit me well? Was it too tight? Are there any possibilities for it to get ruined while I'm currently walking? Some say overthinking doesn't help but for me, it does.
I left the room when I didn't notice any minor or major problems with the dress that I'm wearing. I went to the station where the other models get their photoshoots with the other models. Gheuver was there when I came and he's assisting Lex there with Kahale and Dria. The triplets are having their photos done and I just watched while admiring their physiques and the clothes that they're wearing. They were about to call the other models since they are done but Dria caught a glimpse of me, standing not far from them.
"Rhounzi! Come, join us!"
Gheuver, who was busy checking their photos promptly looked everywhere 'till he saw me. O sighed with defeat when he almost ran towards me, pulling me to the mini platform where the triplets are at. I smiled at them, hiding my vexation from Gheuver. When I positioned myself with them, I caught Kahale's flustered face but I just brushed it off and just focused on posing.
We're all wearing such glamorous and extravagant clothes. Ever since I wore this dress when I first saw it, I instantly fell in love with it at first sight. I just loved how it shows my curves just how I want them to be. It is a tube-like dress with a small slit in between my chest. It's a dark blue bodycon dress, I suppose as it reminds me of a bodycon but the lower part of the dress wasn't fitted, it was free as the wind. Its shape reminds me of a mermaid tail. What I liked about this dress was its slit and it's not an ordinary one. It has a long slit from each side of my waist down to my legs. My back was exposed as my sides as it is backless as well. Each edge and end of the dress had big ruffles on them and the lowest part of the dress had, neither. The dress seems to have a silky texture when you stare at it but if you get closer, it has a woody texture and velvet from the inside. It was paired with a black stiletto and a black handbag.
The handbag had a medival-looking style with weird letters engraved on it. There are small several letters which are G, R, E, and after that was a V but it has another side, a longer and bigger V that's why it looks like a W. The bigger and longer side of the W was placed underneath the G, R, and E letters and has another set of letters beside it: E and R that's why it can be read as Grewver with W and V mixed together. My dress had some markings as well but it's just a simple W and V mixed together, that must be the brand's logo.
The dress really matched the accessories, footwear, and make-up that I'm wearing, dark blue with a shade of black and white.
We were all enjoying the photoshoot 'till the end. The woman with a microphone was wandering around the whole place and kept on saying the remaining time before the rehearsal and the time before the show begins. After our small photoshoot with Gheuver, we were told to rehearse with our outfits and specifically, with our respective footwear to ensure whether we were comfortable walking with them or not. Behind the humongous board that separates the backstage from the outside stage, linings were plastered on the floor with our names on it to organize us. Of course, as I was the one who was supposed to open the show, my name was on the first line. I stood on it with the other models behind me, standing in their respective assigned positions.
Another woman with a microphone showed up from the outside stage. She checked each of us before giving us the instructions that we need. She instructed us on the directions where we are supposed to walk 'till we reach a certain location where we are supposed to stand by 'till the other models are done with their walk. The rehearsal went well and I'm also already familiar with the place as well as the positions and locations where and what I'm supposed to do.
"10 minutes before the show, everyone!" I heard the guy with a microphone shout.
I looked at my face in the huge mirror. I'm having my hair and make-up done again for some reason. Actually, this thing is actually normal in this industry. Krestie clapped her hands again for the ninth time, looks like she was done. While Andrus was already done earlier. I left the room and went to the first line. I saw Dria and the others in their positions, too.
When the introduction was successfully delivered, I heard mellow music coming from outside. I composed myself right away while fixing my posture. When I heard the beat that I have familiarized with since the rehearsal, I took a step: a step that began my runway comeback after seven years.
I'm a bit nervous, not because I might mess this up but because my walk might look like a drunken walk. It's been a long time since my last walk that's why I'm nervous that this might not look like my runway walk before but that doesn't mean that it isn't polished enough. I walked with every runway model's usual expression; poker face. While I'm walking, I made sure that everything that I'm wearing was being glamorously shown. When I was passing by the specific location for the exclusive photographers, I made sure to walk splendidly while the clothes and accessories that I'm showing off stands out the most during that walk and during the shoot.
After that, I reached the location where we were supposed to wait until the other models finishes with their walk. When we were signaled to go on the stage, we did. After going there, all of the models who walked are just standing there with their usual expressions. This is the time when the designer along with the brand's founder has to go on stage and explain the important things about the clothes and products that were presented by us.
When a familiar guy with familiar clothes walked up on the stage, I instantly confirmed my assumptions earlier when I saw the look and clothes that I have to wear.
Gheuver stood in front of us while holding his microphone. He explained everything in a professional manner. When he finished, we went back backstage with our line-up. I immediately went to the room where we had our hair and make-up done. Krestie with other stylists helped me to gain the assigned look for me. Andrus was doing another model's hair. After that, I went to the other room to get dressed again and had a mini photoshoot again while wearing a white lacy summer outfit. I'm wearing a white lacy sleeveless cropped top and a white lace mini skirt. The skirt looks like it was tied up on my waist, it was a low-waist skirt. I'm feeling weird with these, though. Unlike before when I first wore it, it felt weird and different. I think it got thicker and the fabric's texture varies from the past.
I didn't see Dria and her twins that's why I went to the assigned position for me. Different from my first position in the first line-up, I'm designated in the middle part of our line-up this time.
I didn't have my hair and make-up done again, fortunately. But looks like I have to take my word back as soon as I walked out backstage.
Unlike earlier, the uneasy feeling has finally left me. My posture and expression were already settled and fixed, too. Everything was going smoothly until I reached the center of the stage. I was about to walk towards the photographer's location to have my runway walk shoot but I was unfortunate. I suddenly felt something a sudden force falling on me. I was about to quicken my walk but it already fell on me, a red and orange dye!
It was too sudden that I couldn't even react, that's why my walk wasn't postponed and was just going accordingly just like how it was earlier. I can feel the mixed-colored dye on my face. It's a good thing, I was wearing sunglasses that's why my eyes weren't that affected by it. I felt that something was starting to tear off from the clothes that I'm wearing that's why I decided to make a sudden turn when I'm about to have my runway shot to make it fall off. Something like this isn't considered awful in this industry, anyway. Though, I heard some reactions when something was poured on me.
When I took a turn, I caught a glimpse of a familiar person who seems to have noticed me already as he is already staring at me, seemingly mesmerized. I not only caught a glimpse of his stares, but I also caught the woman beside him with her glares that were darted toward me.
At that moment, I walked off the stage with another assumption of mine getting its desired confirmation.
Hazard isn't single, for sure.
