Chapter Twenty-One | Part One
"Bryce, you need to calm down, he's not dead!" Delirious.
"Well, he's dying and it's his fault!" Bryce.
"He broke my fucking hand, you prick! He deserved it!" Brian.
"Your hand'll heal! If Ohm dies, none of us will!" Luke.
"The monsters will kill us if he dies!" Craig.
"Even if your hand does heal, Brian, nothing else will once Bryce gets to you." Evan.
"Back up, both of you! We lose our composure, we lose Omega!" Brock.
"Yeah, you guys screaming isn't helping the situation!" Smitty.
A voice stood out from the rest. It was calm and quiet, but drowned out all the others.
Omega.
My arm twitched, like I was trying to reach out to it.
"What is it?"
Everything went silent around me.
The hatch.
I heard the hissing of wind brushing through the atmosphere. A rusted metallic smell filled my nostrils.
"The.." I inhaled. "The hatch."
Murmuring surrounded me, until the voice returned to my ears.
Get up.
"I-I can't..."
Get up, Omega!

He was dying.
I was battling against Delirious and Evan as they tried to push me out of the room. I was taller than them both, but it wasn't helping my situation.
Constantly attempting to charge at Brian, seething with rage, they held me back. I was tempted to get them out of the way, to shove them out of the way or knock them to the floor.
The others were shouting, speaking over each other at Brian and I, telling us that fighting wasn't worth it. Smitty, kneeled on the ground in front of Ohm, glared over his shoulder to point out that us yelling at one another wasn't helpful. I frowned at that.
Eventually, I had to give up. My head hung, my blond bangs curtained over my eyes. My chest was heaving as I attempted to catch my breath. I stepped backwards, my back hitting a wall, sliding down it. Glancing over, I noticed Brian sitting down, Brock wrapping his hand in bandages to keep the bones in place for now. I turned to Luke, who stood above me, with a scornful look on my face. "Keep him away from me and Ohm. Especially Ohm." Luke nodded hesitantly.
"What the--" Smitty spoke up. I looked over.
Omega's arm was trembling, as if trying to raise itself from its position on the stone floor. "What is it..?" he spoke, his voice croaked and gravelly. Silence swallowed the room. A sudden breeze of air swept through the lobby, but not many of the others called attention to it. They were more focused on what Ohm had to say, if anything else at all.
His nose twitched, ears flicking dust from off the ground. "The.." he mumbled out quietly. "The hatch."
I heard most of the guys around me inhale quickly in some sort of gasp. They turned to one another, mumbling and murmuring, shock and excitement lacing their whispers. I kept my eyes on Omega as his ears lurched once more. His nose and eyebrow ridge crinkled as if he was in deep thought. "I-I can't.." he said again.
Then, after moments of excruciating silent lull, he lifted himself off the floor.
