The morning sun filtered through the tall windows of Min Yoongi’s office as Valentina settled at her desk, preparing for the day ahead. The previous night had been an intense experience—emotionally, mentally, and physically—and yet, as she sat there, all composed and ready, she felt more focused than ever. The contrast between her role in the pleasure room and the professionalism she exuded now was stark, but Valentina knew how to compartmentalize. This was her job, and she was determined to excel at it.
Yoongi arrived a little later, his presence as commanding as ever. He didn’t make small talk or ask about her evening; that wasn’t his style. Instead, he nodded in acknowledgment as he passed her desk, his sharp eyes catching her for a brief moment before he entered his office. There was no need for words between them right now—both of them knew what was expected.
As the day progressed, the work piled up fast. Emails flowed in, meetings needed to be scheduled, and files required careful review before they were presented to Yoongi for approval. Valentina moved through it all with precision, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she efficiently organized and delegated tasks. She managed every small detail with ease, balancing Yoongi’s demanding schedule, liaising with different departments, and handling client communications, all without breaking a sweat.
There were moments when Valentina could feel Yoongi’s eyes on her, watching her from behind the glass walls of his office. She was aware of his scrutinizing gaze, but she didn’t let it fluster her. If anything, it spurred her on. She wanted to prove that she was capable, that she could handle both sides of their arrangement—personal and professional.
Several hours into the day, Yoongi called for her. Valentina gathered a few files and stepped into his office. The room was sleek and modern, much like Yoongi himself—everything had a purpose, and nothing was out of place. He sat behind his large desk, his fingers tapping lightly on the surface as he watched her approach.
“I need the financial reports from last quarter,” Yoongi said, his tone even but authoritative.
Valentina nodded, placing the file on his desk. “They’re ready. I’ve also highlighted the discrepancies that need attention.”
He raised an eyebrow, flipping through the pages. As he skimmed the report, Valentina stood quietly by his side, waiting for his feedback. She could see the slight furrow in his brow as he focused, his mind already racing ahead to the decisions he needed to make.
“You’ve marked all the problematic areas,” Yoongi said after a moment, glancing up at her. “Good. This will save me time.”
Valentina allowed herself a small smile, pleased with his approval. It was rare for Yoongi to openly praise anyone, and she took the compliment for what it was.
“Thank you,” she replied, her voice steady.
Yoongi leaned back in his chair, his eyes lingering on her for a moment longer than necessary. Valentina could tell he was impressed, even if he wasn’t saying it outright. He was too reserved for that. But the subtle cues were enough—the way his posture relaxed slightly, the approval in his gaze. She was doing better than expected, and it wasn’t lost on him.
“Your efficiency is appreciated,” Yoongi finally said, his tone more neutral now as he shifted back into professional mode. “Much better than my previous secretary.”
Valentina couldn’t hide the flicker of pride that bloomed in her chest. She had worked hard to ensure everything ran smoothly, knowing that Yoongi had high expectations for anyone in his employ. To be compared favorably against her predecessor was no small feat.
“Thank you,” she said again, this time with more warmth in her voice. “I’ll make sure to maintain the standard.”
Yoongi simply nodded, his attention already drifting back to the report. For a man as meticulous as him, efficiency was a prized trait, and it was clear that Valentina had secured her place by proving herself capable. She took the unspoken praise as motivation to keep pushing herself.
The hours ticked by, and the workload continued to increase. Yoongi had several important meetings lined up for the afternoon, and Valentina made sure each one was organized flawlessly. She coordinated with department heads, prepared briefings, and ensured that Yoongi had everything he needed before stepping into any room. Her attention to detail was unmatched.
At one point, while Yoongi was in a meeting with one of the board members, Valentina glanced up from her computer to see him glance at her through the glass walls again. There was something in his eyes—an appreciation that went beyond her efficiency. It was the kind of look that made her pulse quicken, reminding her of the other side of their relationship. The side that was kept hidden beneath the surface during working hours but always simmered just beneath the professional veneer.
Despite the intensity of their dynamic in private, Valentina managed to keep things strictly business during the day. She knew Yoongi valued her professionalism, and she wasn’t about to blur the lines between her roles. There was a time and place for everything, and right now, her job was to be the best secretary he’d ever had.
As the afternoon rolled on, Valentina realized just how much work Yoongi’s previous secretary had likely failed to handle. There were several outstanding issues that required immediate attention, and it was clear that the workload had been mismanaged before her arrival. But instead of feeling overwhelmed, Valentina thrived under the pressure. She tackled each task with precision, making sure no detail was overlooked.
By the time the evening rolled around, Yoongi’s calendar was cleared, his meetings had gone off without a hitch, and all urgent matters had been addressed. Valentina was exhausted but satisfied with the day’s work. She leaned back in her chair for a brief moment, allowing herself a small break.
Just then, an email notification popped up on her screen. It was from Yoongi.
*Good work today. You’re proving to be an asset. But don’t think I haven’t noticed you’ve been pushing yourself hard. Take a break and make sure you’re ready for tonight.*
Valentina felt her heart skip a beat as she read the message. There was no signature, no flowery words—just Yoongi’s straightforward style, with a hint of that familiar dominance woven into the last sentence. It was a reminder that while they maintained a professional front at work, there was still more waiting for her after hours.
She typed a quick reply, acknowledging the message, and leaned back in her chair again, taking a deep breath. The day had been long, but she had proven herself more than capable. As she looked at the clock, she realized it was almost time to wrap up for the day.
Yoongi’s office door opened, and he stepped out, his gaze landing on Valentina. He didn’t say anything, but there was a subtle nod of approval as he passed her desk and headed toward the elevator. Valentina watched him go, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over her. She had earned his respect today, not just as his secretary, but as someone he trusted to manage his affairs efficiently.
As the elevator doors closed behind Yoongi, Valentina gathered her things, feeling the weight of the day finally lifting off her shoulders. There was still a lot to learn, and she knew Yoongi had high expectations for her in every aspect of their arrangement, but for now, she was content with the progress she had made.
The next challenge, she knew, would come after work, in the privacy of Yoongi’s mansion. But for now, she allowed herself to bask in the small victory of having impressed him—both in the office and beyond.
