Chapter XVI: Punishment of Separation

《A/n: :( I've been neglecting this, sorry guys 》

You awoke with a yawn stretching your arms out with a long groan.

You no doubtfully felt sore, meaning not only scars from weapons can manifest from the Entity's world.

You cringed slightly when you felt the dryness in your underwear. You needed a shower first, breakfast second.

With a deep breath you got out of bed, feeling the sting near your shoulder, you glanced in the mirror to see the cause.

A bite mark. Specifically the one Michael left behind.

Your brows scrunched up, a frown on your lips. What had happened? You thought only the marks left behind by weapons stayed with you when you woke up. But here you are, left sore with a bite mark on your skin.

It's probably best if I cover it. You noted, taking out a change of clothes from your wardrobe and brought it with you to the bathroom.

Just a quick shower.

The rest of your day had been usual, other than the questioning looks from Keith. Jess had stopped by to apologize for her behavior the previous day. Which was fine, you felt better afterall.

Your afternoon was spent finish the painting- or at least getting close to it. You'd need to add a few more things but so far you loved how the horse had turned out.

Leah had called in the evening,

"Hey love, just wanted to inform you about a sort of... birthday party? It's going to be Amelia's party next week and I'm trying to prepare a birthday party for her... and I need your help! So uh-" There was a crash in the background. "No! No! Lillie get off the counter!" She exclaimed, her mouth away from the phone.

You blinked, raising a brow as you kept listening.

"Sorry (N/n), I'm catsitting my neighbors tabby right now." She sighed, "well like I said, I may or may not need your help with this so if you could come over this upcoming weekend that'd be absolutely fantastic." Another crash in the background made you question why she'd "catsit" such a troublemaker in the first place.

"Alright gotta go! Thanks for hearin' me out!" The the line went dead.

Seems you got your Saturday plans filled.

Red Forest, Mother's Dwelling.

Michael looked around for a moment, taking in his current position before choosing a direction to walk in. Towards one of the generators in the distance, seeing the rustling of bushes in that area.

His eyes found the figure of one of the most newest survivors, Kate Denson.

From behind the trees he stalked her, the longer she was in his view the more stronger his evil within grew.

Then the melody played, and she finally looked around, meeting his eye for the briefest of moments before dashing off.

He followed her, taking advantage over her less-experienced knowledge to cut her off, landing a slash across her side before she was able to throw down the pallet.

He grunted, shaking of the brief stun and destroyed the pallet in a second.

He followed her blood trail and glowing scratch marks. Noting that they have yet to find his Hex totem.

His bloodlust grew, pace quickening and grabbed the ginger before she could jump through the window.

The young woman let out a shriek, and Michael glanced around before his eye caught the stairs to the basement of the Huntress's cottage.

Her scream when he hooked her fell upon deaf ears. He ignored her painful sounds and left the basement. Twirling the kitchen knife in his hands between his fingers.

He perked up at the sound of a generator exploding nearby, the lights its connected to flickered.

His steps went from heavy to deadly light. Any indication of their heartbeats is the only way they'd notice his presence.

As he kicked the generator, the Entity's whispers gain his attention. Someone had unhooked the ginger.

He glanced at another generator as he passed, reminding himself to kick it later to decrease the small process made.

He found the two, Jake and Kate, running out of the basement. Kate limping as Jake covered her backside.

He watched the two with slow steps, waiting until they rounded the corner to fully go after them.

The first generator was completed.

Michael glanced at the light before continuing after. The two had split up, Kate had disappeared from his sight, but that was fine. So he went after the saboteur.

The closer he got to him, the more he fueled his power, feeling a rush in him that pushed him to lunge for the male.

He let out a scream as Michael grabbed him by the throat, the raised knife was plunged into his stomach repeatedly.

Jake choked out a sound with drops of blood, "damn fuckin tombstone..."

Michael waited until he was no longer moving, and dropped him to the ground.

The frightening melody faded from his ears, and his knife was in his hand by his side once more.

He moved on, walking around to patrol the remaining generators.

He walked around the trees, catching sight of faint dim scratch marks.

The trail he followed lead to a generator, the two survivors there looked at him before one split off, running in a separate direction.

He didn't move when (Y/n) stared.

She approached him, a frown on her face.

His stomach dropped as she began to sign.

"You have to kill me right? Because... because if you don't you'll be punished, right?"

Michael stared at her with uncertainty. No, he couldn't kill her. Not after everything that happened between them.

He just couldn't.

He shook his head, pulling away sharply when she grasped his sleeve. He moved around her, hitting the wires of the gen with his foot and turned to leave.

She didn't follow him. So he went after David.

•▪°○°▪•

You watched him leave, your fists balled.

Why couldn't he understand that you wanted to make sure he was safe just as you were? It's not like you're truely dead. Sure it would hurt but if it were him you had your solid reason to sacrifice yourself.

The memory from minutes ago flashed through your head.

"He's still going. Still trying more than usual to kill all four of us." David glanced at you. "I don't want to scare you, but he's probably going to do it this game too."

Your eyes widened, listening more intently to him than the chugging of the generator.

"That's just how the Entity works, in exchange for being able to hurt the Clown, he's gotta keep up his sacrificing streak... or he'll be in for the Entity's punishment." David's eyes darkened, and you felt your stomach fall.

You turned, facing the sparking generator and continued to work on it. Ignoring the occasional spark, even if it decreases the speed of your work, it was better than wasting your time looking for the "hex totem" and get no generators done.

Stupid idiot, what do you take me for? I just want to help you... Your mind ranted off, trying to distract yourself. Doesn't matter if he doesn't now, you won't leave the trial until he does.

Punishment from a creature described as evil, you couldn't imagine it. It could to anything to Michael, hell maybe it could even kill him. Permanently.

As you got halfway through repairing. You heard David's scream, startling you.

You didn't realize how good Michael was at this. That wasn't exactly a good thing.

You frowned deeper when you heard David scream again. Just wait a little while longer...

You were in full focus mode, just wanting to get the generator done. With one last twist of a knob the generator powered up. You didn't waste time, and left the scene.

You jumped when you almost bumped into Kate. Startled by her sudden appearance.

"Sorry, I... I was looking for a generator." She glanced around. "Have you seen him around?"

You shrugged, unsure.

"Ah I see, you're going to go save David?" She asks, taking a look around for Michael.

You nod, patting her shoulder and walking away from her. You broke into a run the closer you neared the hooked man.

With a quick glance around you unhooked him, making sure Michael wasn't around to target him again.

•▪°○°▪•

It was a cycle at first, between distracting him then getting caught while the other tried to repair the generators.

However in the end they were either killed my Michael's hands or the Entity's claws.

Then it was just you.

You were left untouched the whole trial, and you were the first to go find him.

Here he was, stand and waiting by the hatch for you.

You glared halfheartedly, "I will not leave."

Your glare was returned while he tensed, he pointed at the open hatch stubbornly.

"I don't want you harmed, please Michael." You stood your own ground. It was a stand off for the most part, neither of you backing down.

You guessed the Entity was becoming impatient; because Michael's head had snapped up to the sky above you.

With haste you followed his gaze, watching as the Entity's appendages formed from the clouds of smoke.

It was so sudden, from how Michael grabbed your arm and pulled you towards him, out of the way when the Entity tried to grab you.

And then you were tossed into the hatch.

•▪°●°▪•

Spider appendages wrapped around Michael's form, piercing at his skin and dragged him out of the trial.

"And yet you choose to disobey again."

The Entity's whispers were all he could hear, floating in a world full of darkness. Michael glared coldly, it was worth it.

Though he couldn't see the creature, it's tone was exasperated. "I should change my ways of punishment then shouldn't I? You are not to see her for ten days, you are lucky the other killers had gotten me in a decent mood. I hope you reflect your choices in this time."

He didn't stop glaring, still feeling pin pricks at his skin from under his coveralls. It was far too cold here, not that he couldn't tolerate it for a while longer.

If it was to anger the Entity more, he'd probably choose not to reflect. But a week felt like far to long of a time, how was he supposed to protect her?

"You are aggravating. You had made a deal, I hope you see to the rest of it, though I will be sure you do it for ten more trials."

Michael huffed, rolling his eyes. If he could shorten the punishment he would do it for twenty more.

"You are dismissed," The Entity's whispers tone changed to a more amused state. "I will send someone to inform her of the results of your... poor choices."

And then he was back in Haddonfield.

•▪°○°▪•

You were quiet for the day from the moment you got out of bed, frustrated with the man for what he'd done.

Keith shrugged it off, knowing eventually you'd be okay. Like always though he had choose to reassure you that he's there if you needed to talk.

You were okay though, but you did want to have a word with Michael when you returned.

That wouldn't happen for a while you'd soon find out.

You had been brought into another match that night, unfortunately. Ending up being sacrificed by the Doctor.

So you hoped the next night was different.

However once more you were tossed into a match against the Hillbilly. Managing to escape only barely.

Third time's the charm they say, when you were finally taken to the campfire.

And you find the Trapper awaiting your return.

You stared in confusion as the large killed approaches you from where he previously stood by the trees.

"What do you want?" Nea snarled, slugging an arm over your shoulders. She had become more softer towards you, taking the roll of older sister in this one, surprisingly considering she used to be bitter about you at first.

"I need to talk to her, pretty important since it involves her."

"Privately?"

"If she prefers it." He replies in a more professional manner, Nea looked over him for a brief moment before turning to you.

"You gonna speak to him privately?"

You shrugged, glancing at the Trapper before nodding, if it was important, you best keep it between you both.

So Nea retreats her arm back to her side, and the Trapper gestures you to follow him.

You now stood away from the fire, not too far, but far enough so they wouldn't over hear.

With a blank look you gestured for him to start talking.

"It's a message, from the Entity. I was told to inform you that you cannot see the Shape for ten days straight. Meaning the bracelet and Michael himself cannot make you two meet."

Your eyes widened and brows furrowed.

"I have no say in this, but I have to say that was better punishment than what I've seen others and even myself receive."

You nod as he finished, ten days isn't so bad.

Or so you try to convince yourself.

The Trapper takes notice of your bracelet. A flash of knowledge goes through his eyes and he speaks again.

"That bracelet is to protect you from further harm isn't it?"

You looked down to it too, before shrugging.

"I've adapted well enough to notice something with power in this place, being here as long as I have."

You nodded slowly, taking in the information. Before the man now killer could speak again, his eyes trained upwards, gazing to the sky before clearing his throat.

"I suppose I must leave now, farewell for now. I anticipate our next meeting."

And thus you were left to walk back to the campfire with new-told knowledge.

Perhaps it would have been better that he had sacrificed you.

Cause a deep part of you knew it'd be difficult not to see him within ten days.

《A/n: Fun fact: I use both a killer and separate survivor wheel to choose the characters involved in different scenes unless intentionally planned (like I intended the Trapper to be the one to tell (Y/n) about he whole punishment situation.)

Ciao~¡》
