" Scarlett, slow down. We need to talk about this. We need a plan", David says, trying to be the voice of reason as Scarlett and Emma lead the group down the streets of Storybrooke.

" The plan is find Hook before he resurrects all of the Dark Ones. You think dealing with one is bad", Emma says.

" There's more than two Dark Ones?!", Grumpy asks as he and the dwarfs join.

" It's a long story", David says.

" Well, no matter. There's seven of us", Grumpy says.

" Six. Dopey is still a tree", Happy says.

" We may be down a dwarf, but we're ready to fight".

" We won't have to. I'm going to take care of this", Scarlett says.

" You think you can talk him out of this?", Emma asks.

" There's no talking. We hit him with everything we've got", Snow says.

" But it's not his fault, he didn't want to become a Dark One", Regina says.

" But he did because of me. None of that matters anymore", Scarlett says as she stops and turns around, " Snow's right. We need to hit him with everything".

" Honey, this is a man you loved", Regina says.

" That man died back in Camelot. Now all there is is the Dark One.  We need to split up, find him, and stop him. But let me deal with him. I know how I can", Scarlett says.

" Why should we follow you? You're nothing but a villain", Grumpy asks.

" Because I'm following her", Emma says.

" Me too", Snow says.

" Me too", David says.

" Me too", Regina says.

" Me too", Henry says.

" Me too", Robin says.

" Me too", Grant says.

" Great. Now let's go get ourselves a pirate".

" I swear, the one time he isn't in this place, Scarlett groans as she and Emma search the pawn shop.

" Help!", Henry shouts, causing Scarlett and Emma to bolt out.

" Don't move", Emma says as she and Scarlett form a fire ball in their hands.

" Too late for that", Nimue says as she walks through Henry.

" Are you okay?", Scarlett asks.

" I-I think so", He says.

" What just happened to us?", Regina asks.

" I think I may have the answer to that. Check your wrists", Gold says as he walks up to the group.

And so, everyone does. But what they find is not something they'll enjoy.

" That... is the mark of Charon", He says, which sparks something in Scarlett's mind.

" No...", She mumbles.

" Charon? He was the ferryman in the old myths. He navigated a boat... to the underworld", Henry explains.

" Smart lad. You see, the Dark Ones only have a temporary pass into this world, like a-- like a tourist visa. The only way for them to stay... is to trade places with living souls", Gold says.

" Meaning us", David says.

" Exactly. When the moon reaches its peak, the ferry from the underworld will arrive and drag us down there", Gold says.

" That doesn't sound good", Snow says.

" Speaking as one who's died and been there, it's not".

" So, how do we stop it?", Regina asks.

" We can't. The underworld is worse than you can possibly imagine. It's gonna make you wish the old stories of fire and brimstone were true. It's gonna make you wish for death, then the realize is going to hit, that death has already come. And this fresh torture is all that's left".

" Gold, you're scaring Henry", Emma says.

" Good, because we should all be scared. This is death itself. This is a fight we cannot win", Gold says.

" No. Scarlett and I aren't marked. We're not giving up. There has to be something we can do", Emma says.

" You're right, there is something. Use this time wisely. Use it to say goodbye", Gold says, then walks off.

Her father's words hit Scarlett harder than she expected. She takes a step back, before beginning the walk down the street, her heels making it all more dramatic.

" Scarlett... where are you going?", Emma asks.

" I need to be alone" Scarlett whispers, before transporting herself to her old bedroom in her mother's house.

Since she moved out, it still hasn't changed. Scarlett looks around the elegantly decorated room, reminiscing about her past. Her fingers drag against the wall, then they make their way to her soft comforter. Her eyes move to her desk, where all her pictures are framed.

She looks at the one of her and Henry at his 5th birthday party. A smile slowly creeps onto her lips.

Scarlett's smile fades as soon as she sees the picture of her and Graham on their first date. What a mistake that was. But, her smile soon returns when her eyes land on the picture she and Killian took on their wedding day. She twiddles the ring on her finger, before sitting down on her bed, staring off into the distance.

" I knew I'd find you here", Her mother says as she slowly sits down next to her daughter, " So, apparently, we're giving up".

" No... we're not", Scarlett says.

" Scar, is everything alright?", Regina asks.

" It's just that... I love him. I've loved Killian for decades. A-and now we're on the verge of starting a family. We could've had it all... but now we can't".

" Why are you now all of a sudden sounding more like your father?".

" Because... there's no way I can both save Killian... and fulfill the prophecy".

" So, you have to choose between your husband and your children? What even is this... prophecy".

" Let's just say that it impacts the future of my children... but I know what I need to do. If I can destroy the Dark Ones, no souls will be owed, and everyone will be spared".

" How?".

" Do you remember the promise you made in Camelot... to do whatever was necessary to get rid of the darkness?".

" I don't like where this is going".

" I need you to keep that promise now. And I need you to swear not to tell anyone else".

" But to get rid of the darkness, you still have to put it in someone... and sacrifice them. Who?".

"... Me".

" You have officially gone mad. You are not killing yourself!".

Regina stands up and starts to pace.

" Mother, this is the only way".

" What about your children you want to protect so much? What about them?".

" There is a spell I can cast that will transfer them into Emma's womb. They'll still be mine and Killian but she'll be the one to give birth".

" No. No. NO! I'm not going to lose... I-I'm not losing my daughter".

" But if I don't... I'll have to lose my mother".

Regina engulfs her daughter into her embrace, the mother and daughter fighting back the tears.

" There has to be another way...".

" There isn't, mom. And I think now would be a good idea to fill dad in".

Regina nods, then transports them to Gold's shop.

" Scarlett? What are you doing here, sweetheart?", Gold asks.

" Go ahead. Fill him in", Regina sniffs as he wipes her tears.

" Keep in mind that this is the only way to save you. I-If I take all of the the Dark Ones, and put them in Excalibur, I can make sure that no soul is owed and Killian will be powerless once more", Scarlett says.

" But...", Gold says.

" But... doing so would involve a sacrifice... a self sacrifice", Scarlett says, once again trying to hold back the tears.

" No", He says.

" My words exactly", Regina says.

"Scarlett... y-you can't", Gold says.

" I have to, papa", Scarlett says as she brings her father into a hug, " It's the only way to do right by everyone... and to get rid of the darkness once and for all".

" N.... no. No. N-not my little girl", Gold whispers, tears welling up in his eyes as the, while being messed up, family comforts each other in this time of sorrow.

With the sword in hand, Scarlett storms through her house, once again, finding her husband.

" I'm sorry, love. But I can't let you use that sword", Killian says as he walks up to his wife.

" Why? So you can get your precious revenge? If I do not do this... my parents will die", Scarlett says.

" And if you do, you'll die. Along with our unborn children. Come now, hand it over. I don't want to hurt you", He says.

" Now you have a heart?".

" Like it or not, I owe you".

" For what?".

" If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have become the man I've always wanted to be".

" This is not who Killian wanted to be. Revenge did not matter to him".

" It was the only thing on my mind. But you... you found my heart. You distracted me... and of course I just had to fall in love with the woman who's father is the man I've been trying to kill for centuries. You stopped me then... but you won't stop me now".

Killian approaches Scarlett, her back now pressed up against a wall.She can feel her breath on her lips, his chest pressed against hers.

" Please... don't do this", Scarlett whispers as she looks up into his eyes.

" I have to".

Their lips centimeters apart, and Killian takes this opportunity to remove the sword from her grasp. He transports himself out of the room, and that's when Scarlett loses it. She swings the door open with her magic, marching down the steps in a fury as she makes her way to the lake.

She once again embraces her parents, repeating how sorry she is that she couldn't stop it.

" It's time to drop the act. You can't just sit back and watch another family be destroyed to get your revenge", Regina says.

" What makes you think I can't?", Killian asks.

" Because of the thing we swore to never speak of again. I know the real reason you don't want to talk about what you did to your father", Regina says.

" I believe we've already had this conversation", Killian says.

"But this time you're going to listen. Because if you don't, you're going to regret it for the rest of your life-- which in your case-- is forever. So you have to ask yourself, what kind of man do you want to be?".

And so, Killian thinks back to the time he was reunited with his father.

The time he was going to pretend he killed him.

The time he found out his father had another son.

The time he found out the son was named after his older brother.

The time he found out his name was Liam.

And the time he killed his own father.

All so that he could achieve his revenge.

" It's time", Nimue says as she stands next to Killian.

" No, you're not taking them away from me!", Scarlett shouts.

Nimue raising her hand to choke Scarlett, silencing her at once.

" I might not be able to kill you, but I can stop you from interfering. Now... Scarlett... you're going to tell everyone what the prophecy is... or else your children won't have a future after all".

And then, Killian snaps.

It was a combination of seeing his wife being tortured and hearing the threat to his children that caused a switch to go off in his mind.

" That's enough!", Killian shouts.

" What are you doing?", Nimue asks.

" Being the man I want to be", He says.

" You can't stop us", She says.

" Yes, I can".

Killian raises up Excalibur, using it to trap all of the Dark Ones inside of it. Scarlett falls to the ground after being released from Nimue, coughing out her lungs as she tries to speak.

" The... the prophecy", She mutters.

" What?", Regina asks.

" Th-the prophecy... It was said, that when the daughter of the greatest Dark One becomes a Dark One herself... she will be with two child... a boy... and a girl...  one with the ability of pure light magic, and the other with the ability of pure dark magic... when they come to an age... they will have a battle. The greatest battle in all of history. And only... only one of them will come out alive. If the one with light magic wins, their heart will be blackened... and light magic will be lost.All of that will happen... if I do not destroy all light magic... for good".

After her explanation, everyone looks at her in shock. They all now feel bad for doubting her before.

" I am so sorry. I-I just wanted to do right my them", Scarlett cries, " Killian... w-we can find another way. We can save both you and our kids. Please, just, don't do this".

" We both know there's no other way, love. We have to hurry. The darkness won't be trapped in Excalibur much longer", Killian says, " Take it".

" N-no! We'll find another way, we'll save them, we'll save you. We'll find another way!", She shouts.

" You have to help me, Scar. Take it", Killian says.

" I-I can't. It should be me".

" Your family needs you. If anyone deserves to go to the underworld, it's me. You're right, I was weak. So let me make up for it by being strong".

" I can't lose you".

" And I can't lose you. But you have to let me go. Let me die a hero. That's the man I want you to remember, please!".

" No! Our children need you... th-they need a father".

" You're going to be such a good mother... that they won't even realize I'm not there. Scarlett... please... take it".

Scarlett slowly makes her way to him, wrapping her hands around the base of the sword as she takes it away from him.

" Our family... w-we were gonna start a family".

" We will. One day... we'll be reunited in the underworld... and we'll spend the rest of eternity with each other. Because our love... our love cannot die".

" I love you".

" I love you, too".

Scarlett brings her lips to his, both of them doing their best to savor the moment, because they both know it'll be their last.

" I'll travel the seven seas for you...".

" Just to show my love for you".

Killian embraces his wife, allowing her to cry into his chest as he cries on the top of her head.

" What should our children's names be... Killian?".

"... Allison... and Zachary".

" Then Allison and Zachary it'll be".

Scarlett keeps her arms around her husband, using every form of strength in her body to plunge to sword into Killian's chest. When he cries out, it breaks her heart. She holds onto him as she transforms back into her normal self, the darkness finally escaping her body. Scarlett pulls the sword of out him, but it just disappears.

The scar on his neck comes back as his whole body goes limp. Scarlett guides him to the ground, never for one second letting go of him.

" I... love... you".

And those were Killian's final words as his finger tips graze her stomach. Scarlett's emotions explode. She cries and screams out, a large blast of wind flying in her direction as her powers get let lose. A storm forms as she sobs, thunder and lightening crashing down as one thing crosses her mind.

This is the only time where Killian has been near death or died, when she knew for a fact she couldn't bring him back.

When the paramedics arrived, Scarlett never let go of Killian. It wasn't until they were rolling him away where they had to force her to let go of his hand. She fell into the arms of her mother and her father, still in shock over what happened. Regina comforts Scarlett, her own heart breaking at the site of her mother in this much pain.

But, one idea sparks in her mind, and everyone else thinks she's crazy.

" You're going to hell?", Grant asks.

" The Underworld. I'm getting him back. This isn't fair to Killian. It wasn't his fault", Scarlett says.

" Hun, you know how this works. It's a one-for-one trade. To get him back, someone else will have to die. And you just got back from being the Dark One. Literally. You can't give into the darkness again", Regina says.

" I won't. I'm giving into love. I'm doing this right, I learned my lesson, and, for once, I'm taking a page out of David and Snow's book. You two share a heart. So will we", Scarlett says.

" It could work", Emma says.

" It will work", Scarlett says.

" It might", Regina says.

" Forgive me if I'm missing the obvious, but how does one get to the Underworld?", Robin asks.

" Father... don't think for a second that I don't know you're the Dark One. I can practically smell it on you", Scarlett says.

" You always were a smart one", Gold says as he pulls out his dagger.

" Do it", Scarlett says.

" Are you sure about this?", He asks.

" Do it", She says.

Gold uses the dagger to cut his hand. The blood drips down into the lake, which summons the ferry to hell.

" I know that none of you have any reason to trust me, but I beg of you, please... help me get my husband back", Scarlett pleads.

" We'll always be by your side, Scar", Snow says with David nodding.

" Thanks... sis", Scarlett smiles, then turns around to face the water.

As the ferry comes closer, Scarlett steps down into the water. She walks closer to the boat, with determination filling her whole body.

" Killian... I'll travel the seven seas for you... just to show my love for you".
