Chapter 35
Naomi's PoV
At last another tour date had arrived for me to attend, over the last few months I had gone to all but three shows, flying to whatever country they were going to and staying in the same hotel - if not then one very close. I kept an eye on Calum, tried to watch his every move so I could know when to try again. It was a mistake for me to try and attract him when he was upset but he seemed happy again now, to my dismay, but it also meant there was a likelihood that I could make my mark again.
Today, he had headed out with Luke to the supermarket without Poppy or any security. They must have felt safe in Prague, knowing they'd travelled here before and not had any trouble. The two of them walked side by side, a weirdly sombre mood between them as they desperately tried to act like their normal happy selves. I stroked my tummy unconsciously, taking note of how the bump was just beginning to show. Luckily for me, the morning sickness had eased and I was free to do as I pleased again without the worry of needing a toilet nearby in case I needed to vomit. It would all be worth it though, when I had baby Hood in my arms and Cal beside me. He would definitely be mine by then.
I watched as the two walked down the road, turning right to enter the large supermarket ahead, grabbing a couple of baskets as they walked in. For a while they remained side by side, chatting about the gigs they had left and something about an appointment. I didn't want to focus on their conversation because that would distract me from what I really wanted and that was to wait for the perfect moment when the stupid blonde left him alone, and I could make my way over to Calum. They weaved through the aisles, grabbing the odd thing from the shelves and throwing it in either basket. Occasionally they discussed a couple of products before deciding and throwing one in.
"Ah shit. I promised Michael I'd get him some juice." Luke stopped dead in the middle of the aisle, causing other shoppers to have to steer around him with their trolleys.
"Move, idiot. You're blocking the whole way." Calum tutted as he yanked Luke to the side of the aisle.
"Hold on, wait there let me go and grab some." Luke held his hand out to stop Calum moving before he ran off down another aisle, giving me the opportunity I'd waited so long for. I sauntered up to Calum, placing a hand on his shoulder as he faced away from me. He spun round fast, his hands ready to shove me away if needed.
"Hey baby." I smiled sweetly, my red lipstick framing my plump lips well as my tongue ran along my bottom lip. "Fancy seeing you here."
"Naomi? Are you stalking me?" He said loudly enough to attract people's attentions. I let out a laugh to try and cover up his question and make it sound like a joke. My heart began to thump heavily in my chest. This already wasn't going to plan!
"You're so hilarious, hunny." I emphasised to try to steer the onlookers away. I lowered my voice as I looked back to him. "We need to talk, in private." My eyes scanned the area once again. Calum huffed, folding his arms over his chest as if my presence didn't bother him. But it should have. I always had that hold on him.
"No we don't. I've got nothing more to say to you, Naomi. I'm done with you and your deceit." Calum snapped, barely even registering my flirty look that I'd thrown to him.
"But baby-" I began, feeling my chest tighten and the world shrink around me. This can't be happening. Surely not!
"I'm not your baby. I'm your ex and to be honest I wish I wasn't even that. You've caused me nothing but trouble since you came back into my life and I want you gone!" His voice was become louder as the anger grew within him. He really was done with me. Gone was that longing look, that subtle way he checked me out when he was with someone, the glisten in his eyes as he hinted that he wanted me. None of that was there now. Something had changed. With Calum's voice now raised, Luke quickly appeared from round the corner, running to his friend to check up on him. It didn't take long for his demeanour to change as soon as he saw me.
"What the fuck do you want?" Luke snapped.
"Nothing, she was just leaving." Calum answered for me, putting me in my place. My brain barely registered what was happening. Somehow I was losing him. I was losing my Calum.
"Wait!" I called as thy turned away from me. "What about your baby?" With that, half the aisle was now gawping at us like they were watching a live drama performance. Calum froze on the spot, dropping the basket to the ground with a thump as he turned back to me, fire seeming to burn in his eyes.
"I never had sex with you! That kid is not mine!" He screamed back, Luke putting his arms round him to try and calm him down. Onlookers were beginning to film the argument and soon it'd be plastered all over social media.
"Yes it is, Calum. Don't you dare deny your child a father figure." I seethed, rubbing my hand over my stomach. Calum leapt at me but Luke held him back, whispering things in his ear to try to calm him down.
"Lie all you want Naomi but we both know the truth. The kid isn't mine. We kissed and that was all. It was a mistake and I've learnt my lesson and paid the price. I don't want anything to do with you ever again. If you don't stop stalking me I'll call the police." Calum was shouting, his neck veins throbbing as his voice carried across the shop, gaining most people's attentions.
"Hey, come on, we'll be late. Just ignore her." Luke said to Calum, who seemed to instantly relax and grab his basket again. My heart pulled as he began to leave. He shunned me in front of all these people. My eyes welled with tears. How was I supposed to get past this? How could I get him to be mine now? He suddenly stopped, turning his head to look at me from behind.
"I wish you the best in your future Naomi. But just know, it's not going to have anything to do with me."
