Cali had been going to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters for five years now she was 12, and she absolutely adored the place now, it had become her second home, Forks and Charlie would always be her first home.

Over the years Cali had nearly mastered her telekinetic powers, there were still things she needed to learn, but she could fully control them now, her telepathy she still had lots to learn about it but with all the training and everything she could fully block out everyone's thoughts but her own, and she could pick which thoughts she wanted to read and which ones she didn't, but she still had plenty to learn about it.

Cali had just gotten back to New York, the new semester was set to start on Monday, The dark-haired girl was sitting out by the fountain waiting on her best friend Eliza, who was supposed to arrive a little while after she did.

Cali was absentmindedly playing with the water in the fountain, she swirled her finger around in circles, pulling her hand up as she went, and her eyes widened when she saw the water rising up in a swirl just like she was twirling her finger, she jerked her hand away and the water fell back into the fountain.

Eliza skipped up to her best friend at that moment, "hey Cal."

Cali grinned looking at the blonde, "Hey El... I think I just discovered a new power... watch this." Cali held her hand over the fountain and pictured the water forming a ball and lifting out of the fountain.

The blonde grinned at her "Woah Cal! You need to talk to the professor"

Cali grinned, "I know El... I will as soon as possible." The dark-haired girl closed her eyes, reaching out to contact the professor.

'Professor?'

'What is it, Cali?'

'I need to talk to you about something that just happened.'

'Of course, I'll meet you in my office in 10 minutes.'

'See you then, professor.'

Cali opened her eyes, "Okay, so I'm meeting the professor in his office in 10 minutes."

Eliza nodded "good, but that is so cool Cal." the two girls laughed and headed into the mansion putting their stuff in their rooms and Cali headed to meet Charles in his office.

10 minutes later, she knocked on the door and was told to come in. "Hello, Professor."

"Cali, how was your summer? What is it that happened?"

"It was good, and well I was waiting on Eliza by the fountain as we had planned, and I wasn't even paying attention, and then I looked down, and it was like I was controlling the water, it was swirling around rising up out of the fountain as I was twirling my finger around in that exact motion."

The professor looked at her for a moment, "that is interesting, Cali, can you demonstrate it for me?" Cali used her telekinesis to get a cup of water to demonstrate with, she set the cup on the desk and held her hand above the cup and like earlier pictured the water rising out of the cup, and just like with Eliza, it did exactly what she wanted it too.

The telepath watched in amazement, as she controlled the water in the cup. "Hmm, that is very peculiar, Cali, I don't think that's part of your mutation, or it would have manifested when your telekinesis and telepathy did."

Cali nodded "I think it's from my mom, I vaguely remember seeing her using water like that to make shapes and things to entertain me when I was small... but that's all I really remember of her, besides when I was left with my dad well, he's my adopted dad but still he raised me, so I consider Charlie my dad."

Charles nodded at her, "that is very possible, that it was inherited from your mother, we'll have to look into it but for the time being we will add in time to train with this new power so that you can control it just as we have with your other powers."

Cali nodded, "Okay, who is going to be teaching me to control it?"

The Professor smiled at the young mutant, "I have just the person in mind, her name is Camille, her mutation allows her to control the four elements, so she has the ability of hypokinesis which is the same ability you have just discovered. The ability to control water. I'll have to give her a call, though, so you will meet her, a few days before your lessons with her begin."

"Okay, thank you, professor." with that the girl was dismissed from the meeting, and Cali walked out of the office with a smile on her face.

A little while later Cali found Eliza, in her room, "so how was your meeting with the professor Cal?"

"Good, we talked, and the professor is adding in training sessions so that I can learn to control it."

The blonde nodded, "well, who is going to be teaching you in those sessions?"

Cali dropped on the bed beside Eliza, "well the professor said he was going to call someone named Camille, who from what I gather is basically the avatar and can control the four elements."

Eliza laughed, "nice... love the avatar reference, Cal, that was top tier."

Cali grinned, "that show is top tier El, so of course, the reference would be." the two girls laughed and caught up talking about their summers.

A week after they first arrived back from summer break, the professor called Cali back to his office to meet Camille Mercer, who had just arrived.

Cali entered the office when she was instructed to, "good afternoon, professor."

"Good afternoon Cali, come in and have a seat." Cali did as asked. "Cali, this is Camille Mercer, Camille, this is Cali, your new trainee."

Cali smiled at the brunette woman, "Hi, Camille, it's nice to meet you."

Camille smiled back at her, "hell, Cali likewise... we will start with your training on Wednesday."

Cali grinned at that, "Okay, I can't wait to get started, I've only done small things on my own because I didn't want to lose control or anything, but I'm excited to learn more." Cali left after that with a bounce in her step, she was excited about this, it was something that she had that connected her to her mother. She understood that her mom was protecting her by leaving her with Charlie but, she missed her, and having this water power that her mom also had makes Cali feel connected to her.

"Cali is an exceptionally quick learner, she catches onto things easily she has a very gifted intellect, so don't be surprised during your sessions with her, when she only needs a few tries to things right."

By the time Wednesday rolled around, Cali could barely focus on her other lessons, she still paid attention, but just barely. They had decided that since she had a better handle on her other powers that Wednesdays would just be her Hydrokinesis session days, but the other days would be a mixture of the three lessons.

The 12-year-old skipped into the room where Camille would be training her in, with a smile on her face. The brunette woman smiled at the young mutant, "alright then, Cali, we will start small just to see where we need to focus on."

Cali nodded, "Okay, I am ready whenever you are, Camille."

The woman smiled at her enthusiasm and nodded, placing a glass of water on the table, "we are going to start with glasses of water and then gradually increase the sizes as we go." Cali nodded, saying she understood. "Now I want you to hold your hand out like this," then Camille demonstrated "and then I want you to concentrate and make a ball of water lift out of the glass like this." then the woman demonstrated for Cali showing her what she wanted her to do.

Cali held her hand out as she was told and then did as Camille said and concentrated and a small ball of water lifted out of the glass just like it had for Camille. "That was good, Cali." The 12-year-old beamed at the praise and so for the next few hours, Cali trained with Camille, and even though Charles had warned her that Cali caught onto things quickly it still surprised her slightly.

"Alright that's good for today, you did very well for the first lesson Cali, next time we will work with something a little bigger more challenging."

Cali discovered her hydrokinesis in this chapter :D. The next chapter will probably be another time skip, but I am still deciding on what will happen and then that will probably be the end of part one depending on what happens in the chapter, and then we get into Twilight.
