ᴀɴᴅ ᴀʟʟ ᴏꜰ ᴍʏ ꜱᴛᴀʀꜱ.

₊❏❜ ⋮ ⌒ THE AIR ... was fresh, it smelled like fresh rain and nature. There was a calmness to the smell that floated around them. A warm welcoming, per say.

Seven people were laying flat against the ground, eyes closed as they waited to wake up. No one had opened their eyes yet, nor had they even started to gain control of their body's.

These seven people were nearing the outskirts of town, they were far enough away that no one would see them. Unless they were looking. No camera would pick up on them, and even if that happened, their faces aren't in the data base.

    "Hey?" Someone whispered quietly as they sat up from their lying position. "Anyone?"

Kohana looked around as she wobbly tried to stand up. Her hands flew out as she stumbled on her two feet, it seemed as if the whole world travelling thing seemed to have taken a toll on her limbs.

A quiet groan, yet still loud enough for Kohana to hear, caused her to turn around at a fast pace.

"Hi?" Isaiah — or Zay — was blinking away sleep as he sat up from his reclined position. When his eyes landed on the curios, yet scared looking Kohana in front of him, he smiled and waved. "Hi."

"Zay." Ko sighed as she held her hand out and helped pull the boy up. Kohana made sure Zay was steady on his own two feet before she reached forward and picked a small twig from the boys hair. "You had a twig in your hair."

   "Oh, thanks." Zay grinned at the younger girl before he started to look around. He saw bright lights ahead, news reports flashing on big screens in the distance. When he noticed that it was only him and Kohana awake, he knelt down and placed his hand on Dallas's shoulder. "Hey, wake up."

Dallas didn't move, she continued to keep her eyes closed and let the soft snores leave her lips. So, Zay shook her shoulder once more and the action caused Dally to gasp and open her eyes in shock.

"I was sleeping," Dally continued to lay down as she looked up at Zay and Ko who were standing beside her. "Y'know? Sleep? The thing that regenerates my brain."

Poor Zay and Ko looked at each other with wide eyes, the idea of waking others up seeming to be a bad thing now. If Dally wasn't happy when she woke up, then maybe the others wouldn't be either? Zay nor Ko knew, but they couldn't let everyone sleep for forever.

     "This time you do it, Ko." Zay muttered as he gently pulled Kohana along with him over towards Aditsan, Adi. "He doesn't bite, hopefully."

Kohana sighed but kneeled down anyways. She placed her hand on Adi's shoulder and shook as lightly as she could.

    "Hey, Adi. Wake up, please." Ko smiled as she shook the boy once more, the action caused Adi to stir and groggily blink up at the three people standing by him.

    "Hi." Adi whispered as he rolled over back onto his arm, "Uh, I was sleeping. What's up?"

    "We're here."

Where was here? Could be anywhere. Did the kids truly know where they were? No the did not. All the knew was a name, and whatever was in the pathetic little information packet they were given when they showed up. It only held a name, a picture, and a cure for those who needed it.

The rest was up to them to figure out.

₊❏❜ ⋮ ⌒ EVERYONE, ALL THE KIDS ... walked beside each other as they wondered the streets with their heads down, except for Charli and Liam who were looking around with wide eyes.

    "Do you think there's robots?" Charli asked loudly as he stepped over a crack in the almost perfect sidewalk.

    "Probably, it's kinda like we're in those futuristic movies." Ko shrugged as she answer Charlis question.

    "Maybe there's flying cars!" Kat gushed as they twirled around in an attempt to spot a flying car. "Oo, is that one?"

    "Nope, that's just a car on a large tv screen."

Whoever spoke was right, the car Kat had thought was a flying vehicle was not an actual flying vehicle, but only an image of a car. This of course brought a frown to Kats lips.

"Where are we supposed to go?" Charli asked as he walked forward, his arms outreached to balance himself. "And who are we supposed to find again?"

"Someone named Newt?" Adi shrugged his shoulders and stuffed his hands into his pockets. "That's what it said in the booklet."

"You read that?!" Zay looked over his shoulder to face Adi. His eyes were wide with surprise, he had not read the little information packet, but instead he had coloured a beautiful picture in red crayons.

The group continued on, the odd bicker between them as they wondered around the city. Each one of them would point out things they noticed — not knowing that some of the things they pointed out would help them in the long run.

    "I'm hungry." Someone complained.

    "Hi hungry. I'm mom." Kohana jokes as she pulled out a granola bar from her pocket. How she had managed to fit three in those pockets would forever stay a mystery to the group. "Have some." Kohana urged as she broke the bars into smaller pieces so everyone had some.

    "Thanks, Ko." Everyone thanked the girl as they all snacked on the bars she had given them.

    "Hey, what's that?" Dally pointed to a large building that had bold blue letters running down the middle of it.

   "Not sure. Maybe that's where we're supposed to go?" Zay suggested as he looked around for the letters on any other buildings, he even looked for the symbol that was above the letters.

WCKD

    "WCKD? What's that?"

    "Maybe... wonderful cool kid domination?"

    "Or... what children know death?"

    "Maybe it's short for something, like... wicked."

    "We're kinda wicked."

     "Think they're the good guys?"

     "No, 'cus we're the good guys."

Everyone talked over each other. Conversations between two or three happened well the others conversed with someone else.

The kids — Charli, Kohana, Zay, Adi, Kat, Liam and Dally — didn't know what this world had in stored for them.

"Hello? Who are you?!"

and welcome! this took me awhile to write and it's not even that good, that's okay though. so we're getting into it. it's kinda slow but there's going to be some more actiony stuff soon. also, feel free to imagine whoever's staying whatever in the last little banter they had. enjoy!
