After the first semester of the second year, Ryan already mixed in with us very well. Since he's with the basketball team, we fought over the gym sometimes.

It was that one time in a winter morning, in the park, which I believe is cursed. I took Joe and Nicky out for a... walk, and saw Ryan jogging past.

"Yo Jay! Sup!"

"H...H..Hey Ryan"

Ryan broke into laughter and stopped. Joe and Nicky gave him a hello with their bark. I didn't really think of why he laughed at whoever that might be.

"Taking them out for a dump?"

I nodded. Yeah, I didn't get why some people keep saying that. There's surely an expression "take the dogs out for a walk" in the dictionary.

"Yeah, I'm finishin' my run now too, so goddamn hungry"

Ryan turned to the dogs and patted their heads and tickled them, while saying good-boy to them. The dogs absolutely loved it.

"I wish you treat girls just as gently as you treat Joe and Nicky lol"

Whaaaaaaaaat?

"W...what d...d..do you mean?"

"Nah, dun wanna butt in your business lol, sometimes you've gotta figure it out yourself dude"

Ryan stood straight up and resumed his jogging.

"Later..."

"Wait, hold up" I called out to Ryan.

Well, I treated him 3 burgers in the burger place nearby and told him the story about the good-with-dog girl in the park a month ago. I thought about it a lot, but I didn't understand nor know why. As expected, it looked like Ryan was full of rage. He stood right up.

"I go get some more food"

I looked out of the window and saw the snow falling again. The sky had turned greyer and gloomier. Ryan isn't normal after all. A normal person would not run for 2 hours in the -13-degree Celsius weather. I was glad that I took Joe and Nicky home before coming here. So, I was about to unlock my middle school life black box, which I had chosen to seal away.

And a potato fries plate appeared in front of me.

"A true protagonist eats fries in the restaurant!!!"

That... was unnecessarily dramatic.

"O...Okay"

"Ahem... So..."
