box of chocolates

Nene pulled you along by your wrist as you yawned, "Are we there yet?" You stretched your free arm, you heard her say no as you sighed.
"Did we have to do this so early in the morning?" You looked around the hallway but there weren't many students around, after all — school didn't start until one more hour.
"Well, the sooner Minamoto-senpai falls in love with me." The white haired girl stopped in her tracks and turned to face you, "The better." She said while turning back around to climb up the stairs. "Besides, we need to see what other memories we can trigger from you!"
"Sure.." You replied, unsure if she truly wanted to help you or wanted some romance in her life.
Eventually the two of you made it into the third floor girl's washroom and entered, your expecting new companion popped out from above you — floating upside down while holding a hand to his hat.
You and Nene jumped, clearly not expecting that. Hanako grinned before landing on his feet, "Hello!" He cheered, throwing an arm around your neck. Which caused you to hunch over at the sudden weight being pushed onto your shoulders, Nene reached a hand out to push him off of you but yelped when her hand went through.
Eventually you managed to crawl out of his grasp and stretched your sore shoulders. "For a ghost, you're really touchy." You huffed, Nene nodded. The male only squinted at your statement.
Hanako looked away from you and at Nene, "Did you bring his lunch?" She nodded and you tilted your head confused.
"Whose lunch?" You asked, Nene looked at you.
"You weren't listening yesterday?" She asked, you shook your head.
"No, it was probably when I blacked out."
"Oh! Right!" She pulled out a heart shaped card and bento box from her bag, "Hanako-san thought I should make Minamoto-senpai a lunchbox."
"Mhm!" The male hummed, "What did you make him anyway?" Nene unclasped the locking mechanism of the bento box and held it out towards you and Hanako. You stared at horrifying recreations of animals..? Monsters?
"It's nice.." Hanako said slowly, he nudged you. "Right? (Y/N)?"
You didn't say anything but instead nodded slowly, Nene smiled and put the lid back on. "Let's go to his class now!" She said while confidently strutting out the washroom, you and Hanako exchanged looks but followed her down the hall.
The blonde second year student walked into his class, greeting and being greeted by his classmates. You, Nene and Hanako peered into the classroom as stealthily as possible. With your head peering over Nene's, and Hanako — just casually floating above you.
Minamoto sat at his desk and noticed the wrapped box that laid atop. He stared at the insides and his friend sitting in the desk across from him leaned over and peered at it. "Is that from a girl?!"
"Is that from a girl?" Murmurs from around the classroom looked over at the empty desk with a single box of chocolate that was on top. "Did he actually get one from a girl?"
"I think it's from — " A voice spoke up but was interrupted by her friend.
"He got one from her? I didn't think any girl in our class would actually give him one though, especially her." The girl sighed, "and she had so many boys to choose from too."
"Quiet, she's coming back from the water fountain." Another voice said, pushing them to their own seats while she sat in her own.
Sure enough, a few seconds after they all sat down hurriedly, she walked back into the classroom — smiling and waving at her friends that waved back at her.
The girl walked to her desk, which had multiple boxes of chocolate and several cards on her desk. She slid all of them to the edge of her desk as carefully as possible, and scooped them into her bag — even the cards that contained the most heartfelt confessions. She knew she wouldn't be returning any of their feelings anytime soon.
The bell would ring in three minutes, three minutes until school started so she began conversation with her friends who sat a couple desks away. "Did you give your box of chocolates to him?" Her friend pointed to the desk behind the girl, she flushed and looked away.
"..No." She looked away bashfully, but noticed her male friend walking into the classroom with his hands behind his back. 'Probably stretching,' she thought as she looked to her friend who continued to pester her with questions.
What the blushing girl failed to notice however, was that one of her other friends that she wasn't talking to had walked to the desk behind her and picked up a certain box of chocolates before walking away.
"Why would you give him one though?" Her friend whispered, the red faced girl looked to see if her male friend had approached yet but he was still walking slowly.
"W-Well — " The bell rung and the teacher began to smack his pencil on the chalkboard, demanding attention from everyone, the girl put a hand on her chest to calm her rapid heartbeats. 'Saved by the bell,' she thought as she slumped in her seat.
When she straightened her back and turned towards her teacher, she noticed a peculiar box of chocolates and cards perfectly in the center of her desk. 'When did someone put this here?'
She picked up the decorated card to try to see if there was a name on the card but it was suddenly snatched from her hand. She looked up to see her teacher who seemed to be in a bad mood, her teacher picked up the box of chocolates from her desk and walked away with both items in her hands.
Her eyes widened and she opened her mouth to say something but before she could the teacher spoke, "if I see anymore cards and chocolates on anyone's desks, I will take it away. Let this be a warning."
The young girl felt bad as someone clearly put a lot of effort into that card, a bunch of stars and flowers were carefully painted on the card from what she saw in her teacher's hand — who was waving it around carelessly. 'It's just another card though,' the girl tried to reassure herself but the feeling in her gut wasn't leaving.
"(Y/N)!" You felt hands grip your shoulders and shake you, you blinked and looked into a pair of amber eyes. You shook your head to shake away the strange feeling in your head.
"Hm?" You looked around, you were in the washroom. "Where's Nene-chan? And the classroom we were looking at?"
"You stopped moving and Nene-chan is preparing for our next plan, I dragged you here because you wouldn't move on your own." He explained, he released your shoulders and you remembered the plan.
"Oh, did the plan not go well?" You asked while staring down at the list of words that you wrote yesterday, most of the words faded.
The male shook his head, "No, he brought it to the lost and found."
"Oh, well what's the plan now?" You said while walking out into the hallway, the ghost trailing behind you.
"We're gonna try to sow on a button for Nene's crush." He explained, he moved around you and floated in front of you. "Say, what memory did you get this time?"
"I just remember a teacher taking away a pretty card someone made" You said, pulling out your pen to write a few sentences on in your small notepad. Something that you've have decided to invest in seeing as these dreams wouldn't be going away anytime soon.
"What did the card look like?" He asked slowly, leaning forward to see your face.
"It was pretty, flowers and stars." You replied, stopping for a moment to think. "I think this was the most I've remembered."
' a teacher took a card with flowers and stars painted on it from the girl'
Hanako stayed silent, only following quietly as you looked for Nene around the hallway.
