Being ill Sucks
---Killer's POV----
I woke up with a splitting headache and the whole room was spinning.
I groaned and shut my eyes tightly, waiting for the dizziness to pass. Being Ill sucks. But I have to go to school today. Got to make sure I'm there for the others.
Besides, the whole of the year has an important test to do today. If I miss it then I'd probably be forced to do it after school or something. That would be something I wouldn't attend.
I glanced out of the window and groaned, pulling the blanket over my face. Why is it so goddamn bright outside?
After about five more minutes of hiding stubbornly in bed, I got up. Holding on to anything that could to steady me. Halfway down the stairs I nearly tripped and I had to grip onto the banister tightly with both hands to stop me from falling.
After I eventually got downstairs everything was blurred and spinning. I ended up collapsing on to my sofa in a heap. "This sucks..." I muttered to myself, wishing someone else was here to help me.
But its just me. And if I don't hurry then I won't be in time to meet Nightmare and then I'll be forced to walk all the way to school alone. Considering my condition, that doesn't seem like a very good idea.
I got up and walked tiredly into the kitchen, opening the top cupboard and grabbing some painkillers. I grabbed a glass and poured some water in before popping a pill in my mouth and taking a gulp of the ice cold water.
The icy coolness of it refreshed me completely. It made me feel a little more in control of my own body. I sighed and walked round the house aimlessly, sipping at my glass of water every now and then.
I glanced out a window to see a small bunch of kids walk past. Is it time to leave already? I looked over at the clock and groaned. Yes it is.
I rushed upstairs and grabbed all my school stuff, pausing for a moment to read a text Nightmare had sent.
Assuming your still ill, gone to school without you
I groaned and stuffed my phone in my pocket. Of course he would assume that. I rushed downstairs, ignoring my growing headache. Maybe if I was fast I could catch up with him.
I leant against the door as I waited for the sudden fuzziness in my head to clear, then I rushed outside and started running in the direction of school.
Eventually I gave up and walked. I'd missed him. Oh well. At least the air has cleared out my head a bit, I don't feel as sick anymore.
I could hear the bell for school ringing in the distance and I walked a little faster. Back at school again.
---Time Skip----------------------
I hadn't had any of my first lessons with the guys, and I hadn't seen them round the corridors anywhere. Now that it was break, I knew exactly where I could find them.
On the field there are a few random tables with benches. We always sit there, every break and every lunch.
I shoved my way through the crowds of kids as I tried to fight my way out to the field. It wasn't as easy as it normally was because I'm still ill and weaker than usual.
When I finally forced my way out I saw something that made me frown. The guys weren't at the bench yet, but that's normal, they could have been on the other side of the school. It takes a while to get here sometimes.
All the kids at this school know that those benches are where we hang out. And they know what will happen if they get caught there.
So that's why I was having trouble figuring out why some kid was sat there, looking like he owned the whole place.
I growled and walked over. "HEY KID!" I called. "THAT'S OUR SPOT!"
He slowly looked up at me and frowned, a look of confusion on his face. As I got closer I checked him out. He was wearing literally all black and white and he had a little heart locket hanging around his neck.
I don't think I've ever seen him before, maybe he's new. That's why he doesn't know that those benches are out of bounds for other students.
I got right in front of him and growled. "Look kid, I appreciate that your probably new and all, but this is our spot. So move."
He tilted his head to the side and laughed. "I don't think so mate."
"Who the hell even are you?" I growled, taking a step closer.
"Funny. I was about to ask you the exact same question."
I took a step closer and he looked up at me, a smirk on his face. "That smirk won't be there for much longer." I threatened, looking down at his locket.
He followed my gaze and quickly placed a hand over the locket protectively. I grinned. "Perfect."
I suddenly bought my hand round, as if to slap him, and he quickly let go of the locket and blocked my arm. No sooner than he had done that I reached my other hand round and grabbed the locket, pulling it towards me and snapping the string.
He froze for a second then his gaze hardened and his grip on my arm tightened. "Give, it , back."
"Or what?" I asked, dangling the broken strings between my two fingers, letting the golden heart swing back and forth like a pendulum.
"Give it!" He cried, lunging for it. I pulled it out of his reach at the last second. "I don't think so." I taunted, twirling it around.
He growled and muttered something under his breath before suddenly lunging forwards and grabbing my arm. Before I even had time to react he had stood up, hooked his leg round mine, dragged me forwards and flipped our positions, pinning me to the table.
I heard something slam into the wood next to my head and I turned to see a knife, inches away from my face.
"WHAT TH-"
He slapped a hand over my mouth. "Hush now. We wouldn't want to attract any attention now would we?"
---Cross' POV----
I smirked down at the cocky skeleton, he was staring at the knife, his eye lights pinpricks.
"Give it back." I growled.
He forced out a laugh. "Or what? You'll kill me?"
I pulled the knife out from the wood next to his head. "Well I was hoping you'd co operate, but if killing you the only way then I'll try to make it as painless as possible."
At those words he started to thrash about, his cries for help muffled by my hand.
That's when I felt something cold and slimy snake round my waist. I went to look behind me to see what it was but I was suddenly yanked back, causing me to drop the knife.
I growled and struggled in the grip of whatever had me, but it was too strong.
"LET GO OF ME!" I yelled, thrashing about in it's grip.
"CROSS CALM DOWN!" A voice yelled.
I shut my eyes tightly and looked away.
"Cross look at me. Look at me!"
I opened my eyes to see Nightmares face. So the thing wrapped around me was...
"He's crazy!" The one I attacked hissed. "He tried to stab me with a knife!"
Nightmare looked at me questioningly and I only growled in response. "What have you done with it?"
The skeleton grinned and raised his hands to show they were empty. "I threw it away."
"YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" I yelled, lunging forwards to grab him.
"That's enough!" Nightmare ordered, yanking me back with the tentacle around my waist.
I growled and went still, glaring at the smirking skeleton.
"What did he take?" Nightmare asked. I didn't answer, but somehow he figured it out. "The locket..."
"Give it back Killer." He said, turning to face the skeleton.
"Like I said, I threw it away." Was his response.
"Hey what's this?" The one with the hole in his skull asked, leaning down to pick something up from the grass. My eyes widened.
"THAT'S MINE GIVE IT BACK!"
The skeleton froze and looked down at the heart locket.
"Please..." I whispered, on the brink of tears.
"Tch, gimme that." I heard a voice snap.
A black hand came into my vision, holding my locket. I looked up to see Nightmare staring down at me, a bored expression on his face.
I quickly grabbed the locket from his hand and clutched it to my chest. Nightmare sighed and the tentacle released me.
I looked down at the locket. "Thank you...."
