❦Chapter 22: The Perfect Plan❦
"I say we focus on Freddy first." Lucas immediately jumped in; still having a bone to pick with the nightmarish killer.
"No, I say Jason. What's the good of battling Freddy in the dream world when Jason could just come out of nowhere and kill us whilst we're distracted?" Ellie disagreed, making Ari nod in agreement.
"Ellie's right - he'd easily destroy us if we tried to fight Freddy. We need to take out Voorhees first, so we're not constantly on the run." Ari decided smartly.
"So how do we do that without him slicing us into salami?" You shivered and hugged your knees, your eyes flickering from one person to the other.
"Yeah, how do we kill the goalie?" Lucas asked demandingly, wrapping an arm around Ellie and pulling her closer to him.
"Hmm...simply stabbing him or drowning him won't work. Everyone has a weak spot...so what's his?" Ari deeply dwelled.
"Maybe he's got the vampire weakness...y'know, a wooden stake through the heart?" You suggested, praying that you wouldn't get laughed at. It was a stupid idea, but it was better than nothing right?
"Of course! The heart! The thing that keeps the body alive. If we destroy the heart we destroy the body - meaning we end Jason! That's a great idea (Y/n)!" Ari exclaimed in excitement.
"So our plan is to impale a legendary killer who wields a machete... just how are we meant to keep him still long enough to kill him?" Lucas was brutally blunt, bringing up a good question.
"(Y/n) can distract him. I noticed that when you stood in front of Ellie, Jason stopped and listened to you." Ari planned; her blue eyes glistening with glee.
"Yeah but he also grabbed her." Ellie chimed in uneasily.
"Huh? When?" Ari was confused - she wasn't there when Jason tried to drag you away from the rest of your friends.
"Jason was about to swing at Lucas and I but (Y/n) stood in the way. I thought he'd hurt her but he just tried to kidnap her instead." Ellie delved into more detail and gave a little shudder towards the end.
"What is it with you and getting killers's mercy lately?" Ari sighed in amusement.
"Trust me, I'm asking myself the same thing." You sarcastically replied; also finding it strange. Why the hell did they all want you?
"So why would Jason not harm (Y/n)? Why is she so special?" Lucas was bitter as he asked his next question, slightly irritated by your luck.
"Did Jason do anything weird? Maybe it was something you did that made him spare you." Ari ignored Lucas's salt and instead turned to you.
"No...All he did was tilt his head when Elliot called my name." You answered honestly.
"How would he know your name?" Ellie questioned curiously, making you shrug.
"He wouldn't...unless Freddy talked to him. That's why Jason won't hurt you! Don't you see? The reason he grabbed you was probably to bring you to Freddy." Ari realised in surprise as she stopped leaning on the tree.
"So she's in double the amount of danger we're in." Lucas quietly pointed out.
"That's not true." Ellie shook her head and caught everyone's attention with her odd disagreement.
"What do you mean?" Ari shot her a confused glance, not understanding why you weren't in more danger than them.
"She's in less danger than us, because Freddy won't kill her and neither will Jason. She's being kept alive. Like Lucas said before, (Y/n)'s special." Ellie explained, a hint of envy present in her tone.
"I wish I wasn't." You unhappily muttered.
"Well you are, whether you want their attention or not. So here's what I'm thinking," Ari paused to fold her arms and grin,"We go to Camp Crystal Lake. Jason follows us, we use (Y/n) as a distraction and then we take him out."
"Take him out? How, exactly?" Lucas dryly responded, his blue eyes hardening.
"I'll give each of you a knife or something. I get to keep my baby though." She smugly smiled as the plan pieced together.
"Baby?" You echoed in bewilderment; what did she mean by that?
"My sweet M92 Automatic. Y'know, my gun." Ari took it out of her pocket and spun it around her finger carelessly, still grinning.
"Why do you get a gun and not us?" Lucas butted heads with her again stubbornly - wanting to be as protected as she was.
"Because I'm the terrible leader, so I need the extra protection. Wouldn't you agree?" Ari retorted wittily.
"You did call her a terrible leader, Lu." Ellie uncomfortably reminded him, causing him to flush.
"You're not a terrible leader, Ariana. I'm...I'm sorry." He mumbled and gave an awkward cough to excuse his embarrassment.
"Apology accepted. You know something? I'm starting to warm up to you emo-boy." Ari laughed as she stuck her tongue out. Lucas rolled his eyes but you could tell the nickname didn't really bother him anymore.
"How far away is Crystal Lake?" You asked the others, not having a clue where it even was. Ari opened Google Maps on her phone and searched for it, groaning when she got a result.
"Eight hours away - it's in New Jersey. We'd better start the long drive now then, I guess. Oh how I enjoy driving...not." She remarked offhandedly; all of you walking back to the van.
"We can take turns. Lucas and I both know how to drive. I can drive for the first few hours, you can take the second shift and then Lucas can finish us off." Ellie kindly offered.
"Thanks, that would really help." Ari was grateful, sending the blue-haired girl a swift smile.
"Let's get going." You gave a thumbs-up as the group piled into the vehicle, everyone ready to go. Ellie was in the driver's seat, Lucas was in the passenger seat and you and Ari were in the back - a comfortable silence taking control.
"Siri." Ari spoke into her phone seriously, the A.I popping up on her screen. You looked over her shoulder, intrigued by what she was doing.
"What can I help you with, Queen Ariana?" Siri chanted in a robotic voice and you sent Ari an are-you-serious look.
"What? I like to have fun with nicknames. You saw what I did with Lucas's name, and-" Her voice died out before she said Elliot, giving an awkward cough like Lucas had previously done.
"Yeah, I noticed." You murmured under your breath, lapsing back into silence again.
"So Siri, is there a KFC near Camp Crystal Lake in New Jersey?" Ari asked her phone curiously.
"There are two KFCs near Crystal Lake in New Jersey. Searching for directions now."
"Did you just ask your phone where a KFC was? We're going to fight a serial killer!" Lucas scolded and sent her an incredulous look.
"All the more reason to grab a bite to eat, wouldn't you say?" Ari smiled as she clicked on the directions.
"There's a sale on the family feast. 25% off." Ellie chimed in casually.
"How the hell do you know that?" Lucas was stunned; finding everything hard to believe.
"Me and KFC are tight." She shrugged and focused back on the road ahead.
"So we're getting KFC before we fight Jason?" You giggled whilst you asked, the topic brightening the atmosphere considerably.
"It's gonna take him at least a day to get to us. If it takes us eight hours in a vehicle, then imagine how long it'll take him on foot. We've got time to eat and heal up before we take him head on." Ari mentioned calmly.
"Who's paying for the KFC?" Ellie was hyped for the majestic fried chicken - her question making you all think.
"Lucas." You and Ari spoke at the same time.
"What? But it wasn't even my idea!" He protested feebly, making Ari snicker.
"Fine, we'll rock-paper-scissor it. Ellie can't join in seeing as she's driving and (Y/n) doesn't have money on her right now. We'll do one round. Ready?" Ari declared.
"No! Ugh..fine." Lucas gave in after a minute or two, holding his hand out.
"(Y/n), count us down." She added and you nodded, getting ready.
"1, 2, 3!"
"Aha!"
"Oh this is fucking bullshit."
"Better get your wallet, Lulu."
