❦Chapter 29: Mystical Morning❦
"Ah, Ashley, so good to see you." A nun smiled at Ashley as the two of you walked into a room. It looked like an office, but at the same time it also looked like a lounge area; making you a little uncomfortable. Were you meant to be super duper polite or ultra relaxed around here?
"Good morning Sister. This is (Y/n) - my best friend. I rescued her from the demon." Ashley replied in a friendly manner, pleased by her achievement.
"The one my...he is obsessed with. Pleasure to meet you (Y/n). I am relieved to see that you're safe." The Sister greeted.
"Um thank you. It's nice to meet you as well." You shyly nodded, tensing up due to timidness.
"You look tired child, you should rest." Amanda remarked gently.
"I don't want to sleep. Not if I dream, anyway." You shivered as you rejected her offer.
"Oh you won't, because look what I've got~" Ash was smug whilst she held up a small bottle of very familiar pills. Hypnocil.
"How did you-"
"I slipped through Westin Hills's security and took some Hypnocil with me before I rescued you." She grinned proudly, giving you the bottle.
"Now you can rest easy, dear. We'll talk about the demon later, you look drained as of late." Amanda soothingly spoke and patted your shoulder; wanting the best for you.
"Let's find you somewhere to sleep. Thank you for the time, Sister." Ash half-bowed in respect and then lead you out, her hold firm yet soft.
"I'm exhausted." You admitted.
"I bet you are. You've come a long way (Y/n), I'm just proud that you're still alive and fighting." Ashley responded saintly, opening another door in this pretty paradise.
"It hasn't been easy. But I missed you Ash, I missed you so much." You squeezed her hand affectionately - happy that she was somewhat alive. At least she was in Heaven and not Hell.
"And I you. You can't imagine how pleased I was when I managed to get you to safety. We will beat Freddy, I'm sure of it." She vowed confidently.
"Together." You smiled and she did too, both of you happy to be reunited.
"Together." Ash positively agreed, showing you into a bedroom.
The bedroom itself was a beautiful room; the heavenly design and the pristine furniture giving it an angelic look. Everything was a snowy-white - the bed, the two sofas, the table, the wardrobe and even the drapes. There was a balcony with open golden gates and fluffy clouds seeping into the room, the whole place looking like an innocent dream.
"It's beautiful." You praised in awe, sitting down on one of the sofas and admiring the bedroom.
"And it's all yours. Well...until you leave - I wish you didn't have to leave." Ash sighed; her expression one of woe.
"I wish I wouldn't have to either. Isn't there any way you could come back home? Or I could stay here?" You pressed unhappily.
"Not unless you die. If you stay here as a human you'll just fade away and pass into Limbo." She shook her head, but she also had a glazed look in her eyes - like she was thinking about it.
"So what's the plan regarding Freddy?" You asked, stressing out about the demon already.
"We'll talk about it later. For now you need to sleep and recover energy. So please relax." Ashley denied your question with a sweet smile and motioned towards the wide bed delicately.
"But-"
"When was the last time you slept? Three nights ago?" She quizzed sternly, acting like a mother again. Like the old Ashley; the one you loved and knew.
"Well I've had sleep in between, like when I first battled Freddy and then when Jason knocked me out. I'm sure that counts." You awkwardly answered.
"That's not peaceful sleeping though, is it? Just take some Hypnocil and take your mind off of things for a few hours. God and all the other angels will watch over you, as will I." Ash promised and passed you the bottle of pills, along with a bottle of water.
"I could use the sleep. Thanks Ash." You took both from her and used the water to take the pills, feeling slightly drowsy after a few minutes.
"We'll make a plan with Amanda later on, just rest (Y/n)." She helped you into the bed before lying next to you - her wings lightly fluttering down to her sides.
"You're really pretty as an angel, Ash. Do you... Do you think I could be an angel...one day?" You sleepily slurred, making her giggle.
"Maybe one day, if you stay on the right path." She whispered back as she hugged you - her wings also wrapping around your body.
"Mmhmm..." You drifted off almost at once; exhausted by the erratic events that you had endured.
"Or I could just make you an angel. That way we could stay best friends forever..."
You woke up to a serious argument; Ashley and Amanda talking in heated voices. Ash looked irritated whilst Amanda looked stern - what was going on?
"Just think about it!"
"My dear Ashley, that's just not meant to be. You cannot take away another's life to fulfil your own."
"But she said it herself; she wants to stay with me!"
"It doesn't matter what she wants, her destiny is to live a long and happy life after defeating the cursed demon."
"But she'd be 100% safe if we-"
"Oh (Y/n), good morning. I trust you had a pleasant sleep?" Amanda cut Ashley off and gave you a swift smile - your friend lapsing into silence.
"Um yeah...I feel a lot better, thanks. Is everything okay?" You grew worried; were they going to do something to you?
"Everything is going fine. Do you need anything? Maybe we could talk over breakfast." The nun calmly planned.
"I am a little hungry." You confessed as your stomach rumbled - when was the last time you ate? Probably the KFC, which was a day or two ago.
"Let us proceed to the breakfast hall then." Amanda smiled again and walked towards the door; waiting for you two to follow. You followed her stat, whilst Ash tagged behind you with a sulky expression. What was her deal?
The hall was filled with angels, all of them talking in quiet and murmuring voices. They looked tense - almost like they didn't know what to do. Was something amiss? Had Freddy found some way to disrupt the peaceful land of God?
"Why are they so stressed out?" You asked Amanda and Ashley curiously, sitting down with the two.
"They heard about the incubus that was imprisoned yesterday. The female angels are especially on edge, worried that he's closer to claiming their purity than ever." The nun sighed faintly.
"Who was that anyway? Where do incubi come from?" You probed, thinking back to when you first saw that flirtatious creature.
"That particular one is called Azereth. He's the King of Incubi and just loves to slip through our defences. The Incubi live in Hell, guided by the infamous Lucifer. Whenever we trap him he always finds a way out - that's why they're afraid." Her eyes flickered to the angels as she explained; her face grave.
"Oh...so you don't know how he escapes?" You continued the interesting conversation timidly.
"No... But we always find an angel or two missing every time he breaks out. Our angels would never help him, so we don't understand what happens. It's an intricate mystery." Amanda finished the confusing story and sipped at some coffee, her eyes now closed.
"What a filthy, disgusting creature." Ashley insulted as she ate some toast.
"Enough of the insignificant evil...let's move onto the troubling topic that brought (Y/n) here in the first place; Frederick Charles Krueger."
