❦Chapter 30: Mesmerizing Moment❦
"How do we defeat him Sister?" Ashley asked immediately, impatient to destroy Krueger.
"I'm not entirely certain on how. I've watched a series of teenagers try different methods; disbelief, a proper burial, holy water...yet the dream demons repeatedly revive him. It's frustrating." Amanda exhaled in irritation as she placed her teacup back on the saucer.
"You should eat something." Ash murmured to you kindly, motioning towards the spread on the table. It had every breakfast food available, so you definitely took advantage of that. You picked up a piece of toast and began nibbling at it whilst you thought.
"Hmm... What if...What if we brought him into the real world...and then tried to kill him? Would that work?" You wondered.
"Theoretically speaking, perhaps. But that's not a bad idea actually. What do you think Ashley?" The nun turned to your angelic friend; whom was scowling.
"It's a good plan, but there is a way we can protect (Y/n) indefinitely." Ashley tried to bring the subject up from earlier, but all it did was make Amanda shake her head.
"We talked about this. It's just not possible." Amanda rejected Ashley's idea before she'd even said it - the elderly woman not taking it.
"What's not possible?" You jumped at the chance of infinite safety, liking Ash's approach.
"If we make you an angel, Krueger can't touch you! And you can stay here with me! We can be best friends forever." Ashley grew excited as she spilled her plan, her eyes bright.
"How do you "make" someone an angel?" You cocked your head in confusion and finished the slice of toast; your stomach appreciating the food.
"One must die with a good soul to become an angel." Amanda solemnly spoke.
"Die? I'm not sure I'm ready for death quite yet." You replied nervously, cowering a little at Ashley's angry expression.
"Nor should you be. Selfishness is not an acceptable trait for an angel Ashley, so please abandon that ridiculous sentiment." The nun sternly agreed and Ash gritted her teeth.
"But you'd be safe - away from Krueger. You'd be able to stay with me, don't you want that?" Ashley huffed, feeling betrayed.
"Of course I do! But I don't want to die, I want to live my life first." You argued shyly.
"The way I was allowed to live mine?" She bitterly snapped as she slammed her fist on the table. Your mouth gaped open as the shock hit your heart, heavy guilt weighing on your mind.
"There was no need for that Ashley. How dare you lash out so viciously? And at a former friend, no less." Amanda critiqued, shaking her head in disappointment at your friend.
"No I...I get it. You should be mad at me. I'm the one that killed you! I'm the one that took away your life! Why don't you just send me to the dungeon, o-or even Hell?!" You cried from shame before running away from the table - guilt controlling you.
"(Y/n) wait! I didn't mean it like that! I just want to protect you!" Ashley called after you frantically, and tried to follow. Amanda gripped Ash's wrist, shaking her head again.
As you ran away you casted a look behind you; seeing Ashley's pearly-white wings darken by just a bit. You didn't think about it however, too upset for the time being. Why would Ashley even bring that up? Hadn't she forgiven you for torturing her? On second thought...probably not. Tears rolled down your cheeks as you fled through the castle, wondering where the exit was.
Maybe it was down the spiral of stone stairs? Moving cautiously, you descended down the steps and saw a long corridor of...cells? You were in the dungeon! Crap! Were you supposed to be down there? You didn't think so. Curiosity guiding you, you moved through the prison - interested by the caught criminals. There were magical beasts, creatures and crazy angels all trapped inside.
"Didn't think humans just roamed around in dungeons. Looking for something, pussycat?" An amused voice caught your attention and you turned to see the King of Incubi himself - Azereth - leaning against the wall of his cell, grinning.
"That depends, do you know where the exit is?" You tried to reply just as sassily, but your voice went wobbly towards the end - showing your unhappiness.
"Have you been crying?" His grin vanished; his face showing a concerned expression instead.
"What-? No!" You protested and roughly wiped at your eyes, feeling embarrassed.
"You have. Come closer." Azereth gently commanded. You wanted to say no but his voice was just so...soft. It was absolutely hypnotising. So you walked closer.
"Those beautiful eyes should never cry. What happened to make you cry, pretty girl?" He cooed charmingly, holding your hands through the bars.
"M-My friend Ashley." You flat-out told him; your voice just above a whisper.
"What did that mean angel do to make you cry so?" Azereth probed further as he now held your face with his hands. His eyes...His eyes were so captivating... So gorgeous...like the purest purple ever known to mankind. You could stare at them for generations and feel like no time had passed.
"She wants to kill me and make me an angel, so we'll stay friends forever. I don't want to die." You opened up to him - feeling like you had no choice. Why were you telling him all this? Why couldn't you stop? What was wrong with you now?
"Of course you don't. A sweet thing like you shouldn't have to go through so much pain...so much suffering... and for what? A ticket into Heaven? How useless." He sneered a little towards the end, his hold on you not letting up.
"You think I'm...sweet?" You echoed faintly.
"You're the sweetest girl I've ever seen in all my life - and I'm a King - so I should know. You know what you should do?" Azereth's kind smile shifted into a sly smirk - his whole demeanour becoming...twisted. Almost like a predator.
"What should I do?" You breathed and placed your hands on the bars, gripping them delicately.
"Come to Hell with me, honey. I'll make it worth your while, I promise~" He seductively purred. You nodded, your body now doing everything on its own. He was just so...enrapturing.
"Now~" Azereth paused deviously,"~just open the door with your power - which I can sense - and-"
"No Miss! You mustn't!" A female angel darted forwards and pulled you away from the cell, her face set into one of panic.
"Stay out of this, lowly healer." Azereth growled; irritated by her interruption.
"I will not stand by and watch another girl fall to your filthy kind! You will not corrupt another!" She retorted in a high-pitched tone before guiding you out of the dungeon altogether. You could hear his wicked laughter echo from below and it made you shiver - his hypnotising spell fading away as quickly as it came.
"Are you alright? Did he hurt you?" The angel was anxious to make sure you were okay, her golden-coloured eyes striking you as cute.
"I-I'm fine. He didn't hurt me. I'm sorry, I don't know what I was thinking." You quietly responded.
"I understand. Incubi dazzle and distract their prey before taking them, so it was no wonder you were entranced." The winged-girl explained as she took you into a room.
It looked a little like a library and a little like a lab, the room quite interesting. Books upon books lined the shelves, plants sitting on the windowsill and the tables whilst the gentle breeze ruffled their leaves. Where in the world of Heaven were you now?
"Where...are we?" Your eyes swept the room, interested by everything.
"Oh, you must be new here! This is the Healing Lab. I'm a healing angel, so whenever an angel gets hurt I take care of them." She smiled and gestured for you to take a seat.
"That's really kind of you. Hey, what's your name?" You sat down and she sat opposite you, her ivory wings fluttering as she did so.
"My name is Althea. What's yours?" Althea introduced, her long taffy-pink hair falling into her eyes a little bit.
"(Y/n)." You bashfully answered.
"Nice to meet you, I hope you enjoy your stay in Heaven."
I'M LATE AGAIN I'M SO SORRY. LIFE IS HARD LMAO. But I love you guys❤️
