❦Chapter 36: Descendant Discussion❦

"Take a seat." Azereth gestured towards a leather armchair, plonking himself down in the opposite one and waiting for you to sit.

"I will. Thank you." You nodded shyly and sat down in front of him, a little nervous.

His quarters were definitely decorated to be suggestive - the colour scheme being shades of scarlet and darkness. The walls were painted black, the floor was wooden and the king-sized bed was made of mahogany. The bed's covers and pillows were a racy red, the outline of the fabrics being a glittering gold.

There were two leather chairs on the left side of the room, a table pushed next to them to indicate a sitting area. Behind the table and chairs was a fireplace, but the fire was...black instead of red and instead of logs there were...bones. Yet it still crackled like a regular fire. Strange.

A chest of drawers was lined up against the back wall, fancy possessions on top of the slender piece of furniture. The one window in this room was open; the view kind of...creepy. You could see the lava lake and the burgundy clouds, as well as the incubi and succubi fighting on the grounds below.

Guess they were still at it, still arguing about who should sleep with you and receive that power. Azereth coughed quietly to get your attention, his look one of smugness - as if he knew what you were feeling, or what you were thinking.

"So...What do you want to know? I have no secrets to hide from you." He impishly smiled.

"You all keep calling me a descendant of Queen Lianna...How is that possible? My mother and father didn't have any magical talents, so there's no way I can be-"

"Magic can be...unpredictable at times. It must've sensed the anti-magic toxin residing in your parents and skipped a generation. But you are a descendant, there's no doubt about it." Azereth grasped the ends of the armchair and folded one leg over the other - acting serious for once.

"Even if I am a descendant of Queen Lianna - which I have a hard time believing by the way - then why is Satan being so hard on me? Didn't he love her? Why is he treating me like I'm a game?" You complained, offended by Satan's actions.

"He did love Lianna...That's why he hates you. After she suicided, he was bitter for hundreds of millenniums. So you're being punished for her painful act. From what I can tell, he's toying with you to get back at her. Quite unlucky." Azereth remarked offhandedly.

"That...thing back there, it said it could smell my blood...What did it mean...?" You timidly questioned, and he chuckled.

"Most of us have better senses than the normal human smell, so you won't understand. To put it simply, he could smell your scent. He smelt your bloodline - and royal blood is sweeter than anything." He replied amusedly, watching you take this all in.

"Can...Can demons sense royalty too?" You were hesitant; curious if that was why Freddy was after you.

"You're wondering if that's why Krueger's after you, aren't you? Yes, he probably knows about your lineage. But that's not why he's after you, if that's what you think." Azereth answered lightly.

"Then why? Love doesn't go this far, so it's not that he cares for me." You sighed as you hugged your knees, not liking the lack of sense.

"On the contrary, he's infatuated with you. Why is that I wonder?" He turned sarcastic and you narrowed your eyes at him.

"I don't know why." You muttered edgily.

"Well I know why. But that information's going to cost you~" Azereth cunningly hummed, standing up and pulling you to your feet by your wrists.

"Cost me? Do you mean money?" You felt a tug in your stomach, worried that currency wasn't the way people paid down here.

"Incubi and succubi have a different method of payment down here. Do you know what that is?" He asked teasingly.

"Nail files for those long claws?" You nervously joked as his grip on you tightened.

Azereth shook his head slyly, leading you by your wrists over to the king-sized bed on the right side of the room, his purple eyes glowing more vibrant than before. He then pushed you onto the comfy mattress, his knees trapping your hips and stopping any form of escape from his hold.

"W-W-What are you-?!"

"We pay with our bodies~" He purred seductively, his smirk widening until his pearly white teeth were visible.

"No way! I'm not doing that! First Freddy and now you?!" You panicked and squirmed in his grasp - not ready to be forced into sex.

"Oh so Krueger's also tried to have his way with you then?" Azereth interestedly responded, amused by your alarmed answer.

"We-We've had sex before...twice...-when I actually liked him. B-But he tried a few days ago and I didn't let him." You whispered and clutched the sheets with balled hands, clearly stressed out by the subject.

"How intriguing. And how mad would he be if I got there first do you suppose?" He evilly enquired.

"He won't be because I won't let you!" You flared up as you grew defensive again.

"You're no fun." Azereth pouted and relented his hold, sitting back up.

"Just tell me what I want to know! You know why Freddy's after me." You sat up as well; your heartbeat racing after that quick moment.

"Well your looks are nothing to sneeze at, but mostly it's your soul. He can sense the supernatural in it, in fact it's physically and mentally attracting to someone like him. You're probably driving him insane with just the scent alone." Azereth told you, tapping his claws against his knee mischievously.

"He said something...about my soul earlier." You thought back to when you'd flung him into the wall and the creepy words he'd spoken afterwords.

"How strange...your soul's turned a different colour - it's a mix of scarlet and sapphire. Even more beautiful than usual."

"What did he say?" The male locked eyes with you, wondering what you meant.

"He said that my soul had turned a different colour...That it was a mix of scarlet and sapphire - a combination of red and blue...What does that mean?" You said uneasily.

"Your soul can blend colours? Only the rarest of creatures can make that happen. Soul blending is when two or more emotions merge at the same time - making the colour even more intricate. Very rare. It seldom occurs." Azereth explained and seemed to grow very excited by the topic.

"Oh...I see...I didn't know I could do that." Your voice was quiet whilst you took all this in, the supernatural being hard to understand.

"So your soul was red and blue...rage and sorrow. What did Krueger do to get you so riled up, honey?" He quizzed wickedly.

You swallowed as you tried to keep it together -wanting to answer him normally - but it was difficult; the lump in your throat growing thicker by every passing second. Flashbacks of Ellie's dead face flickered in your mind, her blue eyes emptily staring into yours as Freddy pressed his heel against her head. Tears trickled down your heated cheeks, the recollection making you give into the sweet sorrow of crying.

"Sweet-face, are you-?"

"He...He killed one of my friends. He...held up her head and then...then...crushed it in front of me." You whispered brokenly.

"Rather brutal, but I can see why he did that." Azereth commented as he pulled you onto his lap by your waist. You were going to cause a fuss and wiggle but on the other hand it did feel comforting.

"He did it because he's a monster. A-A control freak. A real psychopath!" You emotionally spat out and huddled closer to him.

"Tut tut, for someone who's lived with fragile beings such as humans you really don't understand feelings, do you?" He rolled his eyes, acting superior.

"What are you talking about?" You resorted back to being defensive - disliking his condescending tone. You didn't like it. You didn't like it one bit.

"Krueger's about as basic as they come. He's a human that became a demon, meaning he still feels what a human feels. It's true his emotions tend to be more...erratic than the average human's, however he is a serial killer after all." Azereth played with your hair as he started his explanation, his long claws gently brushing through your locks.

"Your point?" You huffed.

"My point is that he has extreme jealousy. Whenever you're not near him he almost bursts from possessive rage. And when you are near him he radiates with pride - you're his cornerstone (Y/n). You're the only person that the King of Nightmares holds dear."
