❦Chapter 8: Outrageous Outburst❦
You glanced at your mother; conflicted by Ferris's remark. Wrapped around her little pinky finger...You were not! ...Were you...? She didn't look like she'd miss you - she was happily chatting to some of the guests, talking at the top of her voice and even flirting with one of the men. But she was on guard, occasionally looking around for you.
"Fine. I'll let you show me." You said in a low voice, swallowing your defiant pride.
"Excellent." Ferris grinned, releasing your waist and turning you towards him once more.
"How are we even going to get out of here? My mother won't let me leave easily, she'll see us if we try to leave - especially together. She really doesn't like you." You wiped your eyes dry as you composed yourself.
"Not many people like me it seems." He faked an offended expression, making you roll your eyes.
"They're missing out on your killer personality, let me tell you." You wittily added, trying to be as sarcastic as possible. His expression changed to a curious one, but it switched back to his usual grin in about a second.
"They fucking are." Ferris agreed proudly, tilting his fedora and messing around.
"So how are we escaping this sorry excuse for a party?" You asked. He took your hand and pulled you over to the dancing part of the room; where most of the crowd was. He was trying to make you both blend in.
"How's your dancing?" He quizzed, casual as he started swaying you from side to side.
"Excuse me?" You cocked your head in confusion, not understanding his question. Why would he bring up dancing? You wanted to leave the party - not dance!
"Because personally," Ferris pulled you closer, evilly smiling, "-I think it's terrible."
"My dancing is not-" In a flash Ferris shoved you towards the floor, cutting your reply off and waiting for you to hit the ground. With a sickening sound you sprawled onto the dance floor, a cry of agony slipping through your lips as you landed on your foot the wrong way.
"What the fuck is wrong wi-"
"Ah ah ah, shhh." He put a finger to his lips, the dark smile still lingering whilst he bent down. Hurting tears sparkled on your wet lashes, jolts of pain shooting up and down your leg like wildfire. Why would he do something so painful to you!?
"Oh dear, are you alright miss?" A woman noticed you were on the floor, her expression one of surprise as she stopped dancing with her lover.
"I-It's my ankle. It...It really hurts." You whimpered, crying slightly due to the sharp pain you were going through.
"She'll be fine. If anyone asks about her absence, tell them a friend took her to her room. Thanks." Ferris curtly told the lady, scooping you up bridal-style and moving away from the dance floor.
"O-Oh...alright. Take care, Hun." The woman called after you both, a bit bewildered by the sudden events.
"Nice acting, pet." Ferris whispered to you wickedly, snickering a little under his breath.
"That wasn't acting you fucking asshole! That shit hurt!" You viciously hissed; wanting to break both of his ankles.
"You wanted a plan to get us out of there - so I went through with one. And it worked, didn't it?" He smirked as he carried you up the stairs.
"That's not the point! How do I know my ankle isn't broken?!" You raged wildly, pushing him away after he placed you on your bed.
"A mere trip like that? Oh please. If I somehow did break it as you say, I'll fix it in five seconds." Ferris stuck his tongue out, confident of his abilities.
"How can you fix a broken bone in five seconds? Are you crazy!?" You growled and threw a pillow at him, glowering when he caught it with ease.
"You're not the only one who has powers." He told you slyly.
"So prove mine. If you fail to prove my... "telekinesis", I'll tell everyone you broke my ankle on purpose." You coldly threatened, causing him to laugh.
"Oh doll-face, do you think I care about what they think? You must be pretty stupid if you do." Ferris jauntily spoke as he leaned against your wardrobe.
"Just get on with it, will you?" You glared at him, wishing you could get off this bed and punch the arrogance out of him like a punching bag.
"Fine. Tell me how much your ankle hurts. Tell me how cocky I must seem right now. Tell me how much you hate me for what I did. Go on, bitch." He went from amused to sadistic in a split second; his face cruel and uncaring.
"It really fucking hurts, your cockiness is off the fucking scale and I really fucking hate you, you arrogant son-of-a-bitch!" You shouted at him - your temper bubbling to the surface again.
Several things seemed to happen at once; the chandelier and the lamps in your room flickered, the door slammed shut, the window had splintery cracks along the edges and dozens of books fell from the bookshelf. Ferris looked very smug - the fedora-wearing male amused by your little outburst. Your eyes widened after you noticed all the things, the proof hitting you right in the face.
Holy shit.
"No way. Are you serious? How is this possible? It shouldn't be possible." You choked out, unable to comprehend this unusual situation.
"It's possible because you're a very powerful girl. I've seen what you can do and believe me princess, the extent of your power is impressive. Very...Very impressive." Ferris purred psychotically, sitting on the bed next to you by this point.
"Holy shit. I gotta tell mother about this! I'm sure she'll be-"
"Excited? In awe? Understanding?"
"Well, yeah!" You grinned, hyped to have this new - or rather old - power residing within you.
"You're wrong. She'll hate you for it. Trust me doll, you'll just end up getting hurt." Ferris disagreed at once, shaking his head as he grabbed your hand.
"You don't know that. She could...She could love it!" You rejected the idea of your mother hating you and your telekinetic powers; there's no way that could happen...right...?
"I've seen what happens. Your family ostracised you for it. Don't tell her." He sternly snapped, making hurt flicker in your gaze.
"She's not the one who injured my ankle - I have more incentive to trust her than you. I'm going to tell her right now." You stubbornly remarked and hopped off the other side of the bed, hobbling towards the door.
"Are you fucking kidding me? This is the mother that slapped you in the face bitch! The same one that chose your cunt of a sister over you! And you still want to go to her?" Ferris got to the door quicker than you and slammed his body against it, raising his voice angrily.
"She chose my sister...over me? What are you talking about?" You tried to pry the door open but it wouldn't budge - the male's weight being too heavy.
"Your so-called "loving" parents threw you into an asylum and locked you away! They chose your sister Marianna and not you! Your sister bullied you relentlessly and purposely pushed you over the edge! But did they believe you? Fuck no. Your father labelled you as a freak of nature and your mother didn't do anything to stop it! You mean jack shit to her (Y/n) - in fact the only reason she loves you now is because you forgot about your powers! She doesn't even know the real you! Do you understand me!?" He ranted, enraged as he forced you to understand - his frustration flowing over the edge and his eyes flickering back to scarlet.
The shedload of hurtful information hit you like a sharp sword, the tragic truth dawning on you like the morning sun after a blissful night. You stumbled away from the door, your eyes filled with shock and your body shaking. You knew your mother was a snob and a bit of a bitch, but did she really never love you...? Ever?
"Y-Yeah...I-I understand you perfectly..." You stuttered faintly, sitting back on the bed and feeling the happiness drain from you like water out of a pipe. He sat next to you and pulled you onto his lap, grinning for a second at your stunned expression.
"You won't believe me but I've known you for much longer than three days. I knew the past you and she didn't live with her family. I was there for you instead - I was always there for you." Ferris stroked the side of your face softly, and for some strange reason that soothed you. His tender touches felt fiercely familiar, almost like your body remembered him.
"So you're not a stalker? I actually knew you?" You wondered, watching his eyes trickle back to green. That in itself was fascinating - the fact that he had powers as well as you and that his were so...extraordinary.
"Yeah. But let's not talk about that now. I want to ask you something." Ferris shifted the subject, his smile now cunning.
"Sure, what is it?" You dipped your head as you didn't get off his lap; it felt far too comforting. And after all the harsh honesty you needed some comfort right about now.
"Do you believe that I can come into your dreams?"
