❦Chapter 9: Noxious Nightmare❦

"Are you for real?" You half-laughed; expecting that to be a joke. But half of you didn't take it as a joke - you have powers, so why couldn't his power be to enter dreams?

"How real do you think I am?" Ferris chuckled and you lapsed into silence, mulling it over. How real did Ferris seem? That was a difficult question to answer.

"Quite real. So can you come into my dreams?" You wanted the truth, curious now as to what his powers were and what he could do.

"That I can. It's one of the many godlike powers that I possess." He smugly answered. You stared at him, searching for any sign of messing or mischief on his face. He seemed adamant about it.

"That's not even scientifically possible." You finally replied, moving away from his lap to lean on your pillows instead.

"Are we going to play the prove-it game again?" Ferris rolled his eyes and grinned, amused by your delicate denial to his claim.

"Yes we are." You nodded - wanting to be sure. If you just believed him on a whim, who knows what lies he could conjure up? Past you may have trusted him, but you needed to make sure he was trustworthy also.

"So be it. And what happens if I prove this to you?" He asked deviously, his gaze glimmering with dark mischief.

"If you prove this to me I'll believe what you said about my family and I'll confront my mother about it tomorrow. If you don't prove it, I'll pin you as a liar and I'll never believe a word you say ever again." You set the stakes high, being 100% serious as you waited for his response.

"Oooh the stakes are high, I like it. You're on sweets. But there's one tiny little thing you need to do in order for me to access your dreams." Ferris responded, agreeing to your game whilst he lolled against your bed.

"And what's that? Take some strong drugs?" You joked playfully.

"Hilarious. No. You need to think of me and me only before you attempt to sleep. Usually you wouldn't need to do this but I've been having some...complications with my power's strength at the moment." He explained casually - but you sensed a bit of bitterness residing in his voice.

"I'd usually say that's cheating but sure, no harm in giving you a helping hand." You mocked him a little, pleased by his small amount of salt.

"For fucks sake-I mean, whatever. Help me, don't help me, I will get into your dreams." Ferris said roughly, growing possessive as his frustration flared up again.

"Okay, okay! I believe you, I believe you." You tried to calm him down and stifled a yawn; tired out from the dramatic series of events that had taken place this evening.

"You look tired. Sleep, doll." He snapped out of his salty state and grew gentler, pushing you back against the pillows with ease.

"But what about my mother? I have to at least stay up and explain why-"

"Ah ah ah, sleep." Ferris cut you off by placing his finger on your lips and shaking his head, wanting you to sleep ASAP.

"Fine. If you do somehow appear in my dream you'd better heal my ankle - that was your fault after all." You yawned, feeling lightheaded as you let him tuck you in. It was a rather loving action... If you were more awake you would've stopped him, not comfortable with how close he was to you.

"And heal it I shall. Don't worry about a thing, sweets." He flirtatiously purred, caressing your cheek after your eyes fluttered shut. Exhaustion washed over your body, forcing it to shut down and recuperate some energy.

"Sleep well, princess~" Was the last thing he said to you; his seductive murmur repeating throughout your mind. What was it that he said to do before you slept? Think about him, and him only. Ferris Kruegel. His name - especially his last name - sounded so...familiar.

Your tired mind couldn't think properly about it, so instead it just went to sleep - putting you in a dream. But it wasn't just any dream; it was a nightmare. You were standing in the hallway of your house, the chandeliers flickering and swaying slightly as the whole house looked abandoned and dysfunctional. The walls were rotting, the floor splattered with mud and flies were buzzing about - the building almost...decaying.

"Hello...? Ferris? Is anyone here?" The floorboards creaked underneath your footsteps, your voice echoing down the hall.

Screams could be heard from the dining room, the sound of terror and pain multiplying until you could hear it all around the house. Opening the dining room door, you peeked in and saw a girl staring at the wall. She looked almost identical to you, except she was wearing a black version of the dress you wore.

"Excuse me, are you alright?" You reached out to touch her shoulder - concerned for her wellbeing. But you gasped as she flew around and shoved you, her face one of rage.

"You're such a fucking idiot!" She hissed venomously, her crimson eyes full of hatred.

"W-What? Me? You don't even know me!" You stammered in surprise and staggered to your feet, backing away from the evil you.

"Know you? I am you!" The girl growled. She grabbed your shoulders and slammed you against the wall, repeatedly shaking you in a twisted way.

"Wake up! Wake the fuck up! Our mother is lying to you, she never loved you! What Freddy's saying is true! She locked us away!" She shouted at you, even going as far as to slap you.

"F-Freddy? Who's Freddy? You mean...Ferris?" You stuttered and she darkly nodded.

"He's lying to you too, y'know. Everyone's lying to you - you're weak. Pathetic. Vulnerable." The girl mocked, laughing loudly whilst she held you against the wall.

"You're wrong." You tried to wriggle out of her grasp but it was as tough as steel, tightening with every passing second.

"You really are weak. You don't even remember your past! Well I do! We got treated like a freak! We got shoved into an asylum and hidden away like crazies! We were the enemy!" She exclaimed psychotically; laughing wildly as she threw you to the floor again.

You screamed when the floor melted inwards, dropping you down from an immense height. You cried with fright and flailed hopelessly around in the air, smacking into a hard ground a minute later. Now you were in an asylum; the lights shattering one after the other down the hallway and leaving you in complete darkness.

"No...No! No no NO!" Someone help me, please someone! Anyone!" You wailed pitifully, seeing two guards at the end of the hall. They each held a syringe, walking towards you silently. Were they going to-?

"Run. You'll die otherwise." The other you was by your side, whispering into your ear and giggling afterwards. Casting another look of despair at the oncoming guards, you turned around and sprinted; whimpers slipping through your mouth as you tried to regain some calm.

You slipped on some blood, yelling in disgust when you saw spiders crawling around in it. You had to keep moving - the guards would catch you otherwise! With a muffled cry you continued to crawl forwards, shaking and trembling in fear. This was one traumatising dream.

"Get off of me! Get off of me! I'm begging you! No! NOOOO!" You screeched, distressed as the guards grabbed one arm each; pulling you back.

In panic you used your power, sending them flying into the metal patient doors and knocking them out. Blood trickled down their bodies but you didn't even care, twitching uncontrollably and continuing down the hall. Eventually you collapsed onto the ground, crying and quivering - unable to take anymore.

You let out more howls of horror as you felt cockroaches scurrying over your body, scratching yourself violently to knock them off. Arms wrapped around your waist and you screamed again, thrashing around blindly and spiralling into the depths of fear itself.
