Chapter Three -Truth-

'I-I love you, (Y/N).'

Did I hear that correctly? Is Armin confessing to me right now? He looks kind of cut--

I stiffened for a brief moment, completely stunned into silence upon hearing Armin's sudden declaration of love. It was bad enough when Levi confessed to me, let alone poor Armin. Wait, maybe he loves me like a sister? I hope that's what he means. The blond servant quickly cleared his throat, nervously glancing downwards in order to hide his blushing features. I smiled softly, gently lowering myself into a small curled chair. "I see." Is all I could bring myself to say. I bashfully parted my lips, preparing to kindly reject Armin, only he hastily interrupted me.

"I-I know you're engaged to Levi, and you love him very much... I just wanted to tell you is all." Armin abruptly finished with a conflicted sigh. I instantly decided to let him down gently, he was considerably younger than me, not to mention a servant. "I appreciate the thought, but I honestly do not think of myself as desirable. That being said, I adore Levi with all of my heart. I could not image a life without him."

Armin smiled gently, slowly standing from his chair with a faint frown. "I-I understand. I'm s-sorry to burden you with my feelings, (Y/N). I r-really cannot help the way I feel, although I hope the two of us can remain c-close friends." Armin took his rejection like a total champ, lowering his head into a respectful bow. I gently took ahold his shoulder and proceeded to awkwardly tease him in attempts of lightening the situation. "Do not let Levi hear you say such things, he's a little overprotective these days."

I instinctively lowered my hand to my stomach, gently patting the love inside. Armin's angelic eyes lowered to my fingertips, his blue hues suddenly widening in realisation. "You're preg--!" a loud, incredibly frightening voice brashly interrupted the two of us. "Pregnant." Levi finished, lowering his arm around my waist with a fierce scowl. "Confessing to my wife in my own room is awfully gutsy, servant." Levi berated, parting my lips with a devious smirk across his face.

I bashfully shook his hand away, turning towards Armin with a warm blush tainting my once pale cheeks. "Do not be so harsh, Levi. Armin is a friend of mine." My raven haired King appeared hesitant, not to mention frustrated. Armin immediately sensed the increasing tension and politely excused himself from the balcony.

As the golden doors shut behind the fleeing servant, Levi returned his intimidating eyes back onto the middle part of my crimson dress. I smiled gently and proceeded to explain the situation. "Armin is just a young boy, I'm much too old for him." Levi inquisitively tilted his head, lightly taking ahold of my hand with a deep glare. I blushed profusely, lowering my head in attempts of hiding my embarrassment. Levi rolled his eyes, quickly questioning my words. "So if you two were the same age, you'd leave me?" Levi mocked flatly, faking hurt by covering his heart underneath his expensive purple jacket.

"Of course not! I love yo-" I quickly raised my hand, bashfully shielding my compromising expression. What did I just say? Surely I didn't mention my undying love for Levi just now? "Is that so? That's the first time you've said that, and I haven't been inside you~" Levi teased again, this time gingerly grazing the side of my blush with his lips. Since he'd just bathed, my future husbands skin was warmed beyond perfection. Such lewd words! I can't believe he's mentioning truly private activities! "Have I not said it probably before?" I nervously turned away, lightly patting my completely flat stomach with a small stirring of guilt. Had the two of us never exchanged words without sex being in the way? "You do not need to say it," Levi crossed his arms with a faint smirk. "I already know."

Levi's smug expression said everything for me. He knew of my ties to his muscular body and tainted heart, luring me into his charm and ability to capture my spreading blush. I smiled gently upon feeling the delicate material of his snow white glove graze the left side of my waist, elegantly leading me towards our shared chambers. For the past three weeks, Levi had allowed me nothing but luxury around the palace. Rest whenever I desired, foods of staggering value, and even constant care. To say he was overprotective would be an understatement- he kept me close by at all times, and when he eventually had to step away for his duties, three highly trained guards would take his place.

Levi's justification was true; but ever so slightly uncomfortable to hear aloud. 'You are my wife, and inside you is my child.' After hearing him announce something so important, his words slowly forced me to think incredibly negatively. We are not married, but that will change in just under two months time. As for the child part, I am indeed carrying our royal baby- the only heir to his golden throne. "Oi, (Y/N). Answer me." I flinched after hearing his velvet voice, gently turning towards his paperwork covered desk. "Oh? I spaced out for a second." Levi clicked his tongue, gesturing towards the doorway with a single nod of his perfect head. As I turned towards the area of sudden interest, a familiar face met my widened eyes.

Shaved head.

Cheesy grin.

Connie!

His note from two days ago suddenly flooded my mind. 'I'm visiting next week! We can finally catch up!'

Much to Levi's displeasure, Connie welcomed me into his chest with open arms. We hugged for what felt like forever, and were completely delighted to see each other again. He's sweating... must be from Chi's intense heat. As we finally separated, Connie nervously gave me the once over, slightly flustered after viewing my presence in a rather expensive crimson dress.

Kindly gifted from Levi.

"I heard the news in Chi. I just couldn't believe you two fought in the courts in order to marry!" I smiled brightly, kindly glancing over towards Levi who held an unusually perplexed expression, almost reminiscing on the troubling incident. Back then felt strange. It almost felt a lifetime ago. To think I was imprisoned for returning Levi's feelings. How strange. Connie suddenly frowned, hastily patting his pockets in order to feel something glass against his clothes. To my surprise, he revealed an expensive sweet rice wine.

One of my favourites to be exact. Since Connie was unaware of my pregnancy, I had no choice but to gratefully accept his generous gift. "T-Thank you!" My nervousness blatantly overpowered my excitement, exposing my hesitance in front of all who had working eyes. Connie furrowed his brows, expecting me to crack open the bottle right now and begin pouring drinks. He saw me do that back on the streets of Chi years ago apparently.

As if to break the tension, Levi elegantly stood up from his position behind his oakwood desk, accepting the bottle to examine for a brief moment. "Hn." He muttered, studying the faint ingredients used on the back of the glass. I knew Levi was fond of a variety of French wines and champagnes. However, he also had a taste for heavy liquor every once in a while. I was a little confused as to why Levi would take such an interest in the back of the bottle, only his lips curved upwards into a faint smirk.

"Báifàn." (Rice) Connie gestured to Levi in attempts of offering his unusable advice. "Since (Y/N) finds this so delectable, I'll try first." Levi appeared hopeful, twisting off the cork and pouring himself a small tester glass. Connie did not speak a word from this Kingdom, so his confused face was rather hilarious. Levi drained a crystal wine glass in one gulp, lowering his hand after a few seconds. Expressionless. My King remained unfazed, almost as if he'd taken a sip of water. "Tastes foreign." He muttered, scanning the remains of his sip. Connie was stunned beyond belief, in Chi, you cannot let another participant accept the gift you have prepared for a dedicated recipient.

"Your husband is rude. He should let his wife drink first." Connie complained rather loudly, his distress clearly evident in his usually cheery voice. I smiled gently and bashfully waved off his displeasure, promising to drink with him another time. He looks a little sad... I'll make sure to cheer him up later. Levi placed the beautifully designed bottle into a small cabinet, dusting his hands together after the task was complete. Judging by the look on Levi's face, I knew he was about to announce something upsetting. "(Y/N). I have duties to attend to. Remain with Connie and the guards."

I frowned after realising his incredibly rare 'free time' was now up, and hesitantly approached his intimidating presence. "Am I required to assist you?" Levi hesitated, the hopeful glint in his silver eyes gave away the blatant need to complete his duties with a Queen by his side, but he firmly shook his head instead. "No." He confirmed, his eyes flickering to my abdomen for a split second. "If anything happens, send the guards to request for me." Levi instructed firmly, almost reminding me of a troubled father. In response to his worry, I merely rolled my eyes, promising to call for him should an incident occur.

I felt a little uneasy after witnessing his prideful presence stride towards the door, only I unexpectedly followed after him. Connie smiled mischievously, covering his eyes with a faint nudge of encouragement. "Levi!" I called after him, hastily approaching his expensive purple jacket. In the heat of the moment, and without a second thought, I tightly grasped onto his golden buttons. "Tch, what is it damn bra--" I prevented him from finishing his sentence, nervously pressing my lips against his for a brief kiss. The deed was done in under a second, and Levi was awfully surprised by my sudden behaviour. I whispered a brief "goodbye," along with "goodluck," just for good measure. Levi abruptly closed the door to our chambers, roughly taking ahold of my chin with a devious smirk across his pink lips. "You can do better then that, (Y/N). I taught you better."

Thank god Connie does not know the language of this Kingdom.

I eagerly parted my lips, from shock or lust- I did not know. Levi leant close, his breath fanning the tip of my chin. I suddenly voiced my concerns on his overpowering urge to protect me. "You can request me for help too, Levi." I raised my arms up against his sturdy shoulders, attempting to close the distance between us. Levi teasingly inched closer, muttering "I know," under his breath before finally returning my passion.

Our kiss was heated, and ever so slightly lustful. "Nn~" a small sound of contentment slipped past my tongue, encouraging Levi to slide his hands down my waist- dangerously close to the swell of my breasts. Levi also lost a part of himself, and to my surprise he leant back, only to passionately kiss me again. He grunted out of annoyance, clearly wishing to continue our little moment, but upon hearing the chime of a small clock nearby, I knew my actions had only made him late to his role as King. I parted from his tight hold for luxury air, also ensuring a small "sorry," reached his ears.

Levi wiped his lips with the elegant sleeve of his royal jacket, his eyes burning with a new felt desire. His intentions of attending the meeting were suddenly shifted to second on his list of important matters. I quickly became his main focus of the afternoon. "Rest before I return. You'll need it, (Y/N). Levi spoke with the upmost seriousness, his words resonating within my heart. He wishes to do dirty things... I wonder if we'll use our mouth-- "y-you're late, Levi. I-I'll see you later!" My raven haired King merely rolled his eyes, dismissively using the back of his hand to bid me farewell. His eyes burnt furiously with lust- something he would act upon later into the night. Only when the two of us were alone in our chambers.

I shakily wiped my lips, ever so slightly lightheaded from the desire behind Levi's kisses. He told me to stay beside Connie, but it seems I got a little distracted by his soft lips. Time to head back. With a nervous sigh, I hesitantly adjusted my beautiful red dress and entered our resting chambers once more. As I closed the door, light snoring filled the room. Where is Connie? I need to apologise for taking so long. I suddenly realised he had disappeared from view- not a single thing pointed towards his direction. I cast my eyes around the decorative room, only to notice he lay face down on Levi's desk, rice wine in hand.

He was passed out drunk.

"Connie~" I mused with a faint smile across my lips. "Wake up~" he remained utterly unresponsive, muttering incoherent sentences every now and then. I immediately decided to repay Connie for his kindness all that time ago, lightly lifting him up to his feet as he slumped against me for support. "I-I like rice wine too, (Y/N)." He muttered indecisively. "You're so great." He whispered, slurring the 't' for a little longer than necessary. The two of us stumbled towards Levi's neatly made bed. I merely chuckled at his abstract behaviour, carefully tucking him into several blankets. Connie didn't have anything to worry about- the maids had put fresh sheets on earlier today, although they would probably have to do so again tomorrow morning.

Connie looked a little troubled as he slept, but I quickly concluded that was the dreaded rice wines fault. What a strange boy he is. I decided to leave the room, after all, Connie would not be conscious for another three hours or so. How he had managed to guzzle a full bottle of rice wine in a little under ten minutes completely amazed me. I'll make sure to ask him when he eventually wakes up. I quietly retreated out of the room, gently closing the door with a soft sigh. I noticed without even questioning the two stationary guards either side of the door, they followed me without question.

Levi gave strict orders to every guard under his control to follow me without question if they ever spotted me alone. I hesitantly turned to face them, nervously bowing in a silent 'thank you,' - they remained eerily unresponsive to my behaviour. I suppose that's all part of their job. I quietly walked down the empty hallway, nice and slowly for the guards who wore such heavy armour. I knew my place was beside Levi, but I am not yet fully trained in the affairs of our Kingdom, plus I am officially carrying his child- something only Levi, Hanji, Armin and Petra are aware of.

As I progressed down the hallway, dozens of posters suddenly scattered the hallway floor, some even blowing in the breeze. The guards instantly stepped forward, raising their shields above me in order to protect a few stray papers from entering my general vicinity. Talk about protective. Just what did Levi say to them? As the posters danced around the hallway tiles, the guards proceeded to examine the old papers. I just so happened to catch a glimpse over their shoulders.

My body stumbled backwards upon seeing the fierce expression within Eren's ocean eyes. At first I saw great beauty, but now all I can see is blinding anger and great pain. He looks like he's mocking Reiner's murder. All I want to do is throw up and cry whenever I see his torturous name. These posters were first used when Eren became involved within my court cases. I wonder why so many are gathered here? Did someone plant them as a threat?

The guards proceeded to rip up the flying papers, crumpling them up into little balls and pocketing the waste. I raised my hand out in disbelief, attempting to stop them from destroying evidence, only my lips would not move correctly. I stood lifelessly in the middle of the hallway.

'Look after my Chi sister, Levi.'

'Someone wants to marry a scatterbrain like you?'

Reiner... forgive me. If only I'd known what Eren was planning. Maybe you'd still be here with me and my child. I'm the only remaining member from the 'Chi Three' our name is practically legend now. Without any awareness, the two guards questioned my shocked expression, even pointing out the fact I was crying. "Are you feeling unwell, your Majesty?" I noticed the guards were the definition of respectful, only mentioning questions of my overall wellbeing. "Oh... I'm very well, thank you. I'd like to keep one of those posters."

One of the loyal guards delved into his pockets, revealing a small wrinkled up poster. He immediately apologised for ruining the picture, but that was the least of my worries. Nor did I care for a drawing of a murderer. He is a terrible individual. A sinner. I didn't want to request Levi over something so trivial, so I quickly opted to continue my journey down the royal hallway as if nothing had happened. I'll tell Levi when he finishes his duty as King. Oh gosh, I'm crying. I reflected on Reiner so suddenly. I must stop 'wasting water' as he would say.

I hesitantly wiped my damp eyes, firmly striding down the hallway and turning left. Fate was truly out to get me this week, as I bumped into the very lady who had gone quiet for nearly an entire month. Lady Petra Ral. She gasped in surprise, bowing politely with a faint frown across her pretty face. "I-I'm busy at this moment! See you around the palace, (Y/N)." Petra hurried off, her strawberry blond curls bouncing under her shoulders. Was she... blushing? I also noticed a faint bruise on her neck... interesting.
