(Y/N), petty thief.
A low sigh escaped my lips as I placed my arms against my chest in attempts to stay warm. Raindrops cascaded down my face as I wiped my sleeve against my lips. I'm almost there... thunder struck in the distance, a few miles away from the castle.
"Move scum!"
"Out of the way peasants!"
"Make way for your future King!"
My eyes wandered to the large golden bars, essentially a balcony for the King to speak to the poor and less fortunate.
"Two thieves are among you! I won't stop until my ruby is returned!"
The Prince, from what I could see, wore a large red and gold crown decorated with jewels of unimaginable prices, he also wore a black cape - shielding his shoulders from the rain. Thunder struck again.
"A boosted reward of five thousand gold is being offered to anyone who can provide information."
Prince Levi's announcement caused the townspeople to instantly begin shouting, claiming they knew the red ruby's location.
"Anyone found lying... will be put to death for treason of the King."
The poor instantly went silent. I sensed if I moved or began to leave I would be stopped by the Prince.
"Now leave! Conditions and houses are currently being rebuilt, if you have nowhere to go, stand underneath the bars of the castle, they'll provide shelter."
Seems he's not completely evil... the townspeople began to move and head towards shelter - much like a heard of sheep. I blended in as best I could. Prince Levi could be seen watching from above.
I stood underneath a nearby stable, selling horses and bread rolls. The Prince did not move and stood looking down upon the people of his Kingdom.
"Oh, a woman? Come'here sweetheart."
A group of men, dressed poorly and clearly drunk began to approach me. Oh no... Prince Levi's attention immediately fell upon me. Oh shit! These assholes are gunna blow my cover!
Adrenaline instantly flooded my body as I pulled down my hood, revealing my face for the men to see, a low whistle sounded from the assumed ring leader. The future Kings's watching! I have no choice but to act innocent. I began to walk away as the Prince's gaze watched the scene unfold.
"Don't ignore someone when they're talking."
The man suddenly grabbed my wrist and forced me to face him.
"Especially me."
I felt my tempter rise. You'd be dead if I didn't have an audience.
"Please..."
I almost laughed at my response as the man withdrew a muddy, blood tinted blade. Maybe this is a regular thing for him? I mirrored his brash actions as we began to stare.
"My name is Ri. I regularly visit that bar over there and saw you by yourself."
Ri wore a creepy smile and stepped closer towards me. I attempted to reason with him.
"The King is watching - you know how much he hates thugs like you."
The man froze up, hastily looking up towards the intense watch of the Prince.
"Hm... guess I'll let you go... for today."
The Kings gaze saved your fucking life buddy!I longed to say my precious insult, but decided to let the poor drunk man walk away with his friends. Ri, your officially on my hit list. I angrily gave the man a rude gesture of my middle finger and began to walk in the opposite direction.
I need to avoid the Prince's gaze and force him to forget about me, though knowing him, that's going to be a difficult task. My mind wandered towards Eren - in which I slowed my walking.
His eyes wide with betrayal, then rage. I sense he won't forgive me, maybe even out for revenge. Hopefully my thieves can restrict him from leaving their guard and protection.
The rain worsened to a drench as I realised I'd been standing in the middle of a severe rainfall, my brown cape stuck to my skin as my hair felt tangled and knotted.
Though something scared me.
I looked up towards the golden bars of the balcony to find the King staring directly at me, unmoved from his position.
Has he been watching me this whole time?
My heart began to race as I looked behind me and all around my area to see if he was looking at somebody else. I gave one final glance before he raised his voice to a yell.
"You there. Stop in the name of the King."

Prince Levi Ackerman, royal descendent.
I sent three guards to collect the stranger standing in the rain, the girl remained in the downpour for a full twenty minutes before recognising I'd been watching as well.
I hadn't intended to look for as long as I did, but the hooded figure looked suspicious. I promised myself to take all chances when I suspected somebody of having my mother's ruby under their possession.
I sat on my fathers throne and waited for the stranger to be brought before me, the ticking of the clock forced me to zone out.
With all this drama of the ruby, I would be intensely working on paperwork right now.
The loud slam of the heavy wooden doors caused me to look up in attention, the stranger clearly drenched from the rain, coughed heavily as her feet were dragged across the floor as two guards held her by either arm.
I signalled for the guards to remove her hood as they hastily pulled on the material of her cloak revealing a young and feminine face.
"A female peasant."
The girl remained silent and attempted to stand without the guards assistance only to revive a solid hit to the side of her head.
"Quit moving, scum."
The guards dropped her to her knees as she coughed. I cringed yet lowered my chin upon my palm. This peasant showed no signs of being able to fight the men that approached her and attempted to flee the second the thugs opened their mouths.
"So... tell me your name."
The girl glanced towards me and blinked, she looked oddly confused.
"Did I fucking stutter? Tell me your name, peasant."
The girl exhaled softly as a trickle of blood began to roll down her forehead, it seems the guard hit her a little hard.
"(Y/N)."
"Empty your pockets."
The girl responded with silence again as the guards began to pull multiple items from her pockets, an old piece of bread, a low amount of gold and finally - a small, brown leather pouch.
My eyes widened upon seeing the pouch. That could easily hold a small ruby inside... guards pulled on the string and removed the item, a glimmer of light reflected off my mother's crimson ruby. Such a beautiful jewel in the hands of an ugly peasant.
My mothers jewel was in her possession all along.
"You fucking scum..."
My voice lowered upon seeing the ruby as I clicked my fingers, a solid kick to her head made the girl collapse to the floor.
"Ack!"
The peasant coughed up blood as her fluids blended in or stained the red carpet which led up to my throne, my rage blinded me as the girl received a heavy beating from the guard, the foreigner's chin rose to face me as blood trickled from her nose and bruised lips. Her blood looks similar to the colour of my ruby...
"You stole this... from me?"

(Y/N), petty thief.
My vision blurred as the King's beating from the guards forced me to the ground. Seems the King has a temper.
"Someone... gave it to me..."
The searing pain from the guards boot made contact with my head again, everything felt and sounded like I was underwater.
"Liar. I'll have you killed for this."
It seems your more similar to your father more than you think, Future King. I didn't want to aid his rage and decided saying nothing may help my death sentence.
"Why did you steal this?"
"For fun, I guess."
The Prince's glare worsened as he ordered the guards to stand me up again, a low cry escaped my lips as my legs wouldn't support my upper body.
"You're not from here. I can tell from your voice, what country are you from?"
"Chi."
"I see. The one what was destroyed by... the fire."
I nodded and sensed my sudden struggle to open my eyes, only I saw the Prince's rather frightening expression - he looked overcome with an idea that wouldn't be in my favour.
"It appears I'll give you a choice foreigner; die... or become my royal guard."
My heart raced as my eyes felt like weights on my face, my voice became dry as I attempted to speak. Time slowed as I stuttered out the words:
"Yes, I'll serve you."
