Chapter Sixty Two -Royal Lovers-
Enjoy~

Six months later.
My engagement to such a powerful man was discussed throughout the entire Kingdom. Levi seemed elated with many of his subject's approval. Our marriage was due next month, and judging by the white curtains Petra was designing, everything seemed to be going smoothly.
Reiner's funeral remained forever in my thoughts, consuming my very soul for hours at a time. I still remember holding hands with Levi as two guards lowered Reiner's coffin into the ground. In the end, my letters did reach all of his friends and family. They arrived dressed in all black. I try my best to block Reiner's death from my mind and focus on his inspiring legacy.
Time heals all... is what many people told me.
"Oi, (Y/N). Eat something."
Levi rolled his eyes upon seeing me poke at my soup. To tell the truth... I haven't had much of an appetite lately. Of course, Levi and I had slept together recently. On weekends, Hanji regularly insisted on 'distracting the guards.' According to Levi, he received many bashful complaints from blushing guards late at night.
Let's just say walking around the palace started to become embarrassing. Since the complains, Levi's been muffling my noises by placing his fingers into my mouth. His technique seemed to be working, but he didn't particularly like doing it. To save the rest of my dignity, I allowed him to do so.
"Hey, Levi."
I glanced upwards from my now cold soup and spotted a very familiar face. Jean the nobleman. I instantly shot up from my seat and embraced Jean's fatigued body. Levi didn't appear to be impressed. I can't believe Jean's awake! He's standing too!
"Didn't I tell you to rest fully?"
Jean nervously scratched the back of his neck and studied my hand for a brief moment. My wedding ring. Levi cleared his throat, aggressively taking ahold of Jean's arm with a fierce glare. I furrowed my brows in response to his questionable behaviour. Just what on earth are those two doing?
"Not a word, Jean."
Jean winked in my overall direction.
"A word on how you were too scared to propose? By the looks of things, you took my advice."
Jean mocked his friend leisurely, lightly patting his shoulder with a triumphal smirk. Levi swiftly turned his back to me, covering his face with the right side of his wrist. Is Levi... blushing? I approached his flushed figure and gently poked his cheek. Levi refused to face me.
"Are you blushing? Let me see!"
Levi refused for a second time; adjusting his formal jacket with a deep cough. Jean extended out his hand and lightly kissed the top of my palm. I was pleasantly surprised by Jean's manners- minus the kissing part. Nobody did that on the streets. Only now did I notice Jean wore baggy trousers matched with a tuxedo top. He's hiding his injury.
Jean could now walk without assistance.
After Levi recovered from his brief embarrassment, he swiftly sought after Jean who began to limp out into the hallway. I lightly took ahold of Levi's shoulder and muttered a few brief words of complaint. He didn't listen and followed after Jean with his hand on his sword. Yikes. After listening to Jean beg for his life, I considered stepping in.
Although the urge to throw up suddenly consumed me. Levi and I discreetly tried for a child, although we didn't particularly discuss the topic. I desperately cast my eyes around the room and quickly spotted Levi's washroom to the left of the wallpaper. I felt slightly afraid, but knew Levi would be delighted with the hopeful news.
I understood Levi would be relieved and excited over the thought of his own child.
Levi told me awhile ago he wished to have a baby boy. We even talked about names for a little while. The sensation of vomiting is never pleasant, hence why I wished for the ordeal to pass quickly. My throat stung a little and the potent taste of food spread across my tongue.
Disgusting.
After the whole troubling incident, I couldn't help feel slightly nervous. I've never looked after a child, let alone raised one inside of me. Levi had been without female company for an entire three years before he met me-- so he probably has little idea either.
It's okay... Levi is the King and I'm soon to be his wife. It's only natural we should start thinking about children. Our positions are safe and we can definitely financially provide for our child. If you think about it properly, the timing is perfect. What is there to be worried about?
"(Y/N)?"
Levi brashly questioned from outside his washroom. The sudden noise jolted me from my thoughts and I answered rather shakily. Act natural! Ever since we tried for a child, Levi remained beside me. I knew he longed to see if our passionate night together had created something he longed for.
Children to claim his throne.
"Y-Yes! Just a second!"
Real smooth, (Y/N). I quickly regained my composure and left the washroom with a small smile. Levi raised an eyebrow, immediately questioning my prolonged absence. I should tell him straight away... no point in hiding something we should be proud of.
"I've... just been sick, Levi."
Since I lowered my head out of embarrassment, I failed to see the expression on Levi's face. Seconds past, each one more crippling than the last. Maybe he isn't happy? Maybe he thinks the child will be female? My body tensed as Levi embraced me from the front, wrapping his arms around my waist.
"You delayed telling me, you idiot."
Levi muttered into my shoulder, gently placing his lips against my neck. I smiled gently in response to his positive reaction and muttered a brief apology. I'm truly happy. I can just see the shock on Reiner's face... he'd be over the moon for us.
Well, I'm sure he'd be angry at Levi for defiling my body in such a way. Levi took ahold of my hand and entwined his fingers with my own. Surprisingly, Levi's skin was oddly warm. I presumed the shock of my news caused him to sweat slightly.
"I'm beyond happy, (Y/N). I'm not letting you leave my side. No one will harm you, or my child. I'll up the guard patrols--"
I laughed happily; squeezing Levi's hand for enforced reassurance. My genuine happiness over such an exciting ordeal allowed me to hold onto Levi just that little bit tighter. Levi sighed loudly and grazed his thumb underneath my chin.
"I'm growing rather tied of putting my fingers near your mouth, (Y/N). Maybe next time I won't spare you the embarrassment of moaning out my name during the night."
Levi ruthlessly teased me, watching with great enjoyment as my face immediately flushed red after hearing such lewd words. I averted my gaze with a fierce shake of my head, tightly gripping onto Levi's ruffled shirt. I parted my lips to reply with an insult, but Levi silenced me with a passionate kiss.
I could feel the immense love behind his actions. I can't believe we're going to have a baby... I wonder if Levi wishes to name our baby something French or in Chi? I whined softly as Levi traced his thumb under my chin and pressed himself against me. I also happened to hear an animalistic groan slip past his lips.
"Levi? Have you seen my--woah! Not again!"
I jumped from the intrusion and raised my sleeve over my blushing features. Levi sighed loudly and turned to face the inconsiderate person, only to meet eyes with the crazed scientist herself-- Hanji. Judging from the anger that swirled within Levi's steel eyes, Hanji was in a lot of trouble.
"Who invited you in here, four eyes?"
Levi complained loudly, taking ahold of my hand and leading me away from whatever sharp instrument Hanji happened to be holding. I noticed Hanji looked rather tired with black backs under her eyes. Poor girl... is she always experimenting?
"Don't you dare come near (Y/N) with any of that."
Levi demanded rather harshly, practically forcing me behind him in the process. Hanji furrowed her brows and inquisitively stepped closer. Levi instantly freaked out and raised his arm up across my body.
"A little jumpy today, Levi? Is something going on?"
Levi sighed loudly and slowly lowered his arm away from my body. After a powerful mental debate with his mind, Levi reluctantly decided to reveal the news. Hanji waited patiently for Levi to speak, pushing up her glasses in the brief silence.
"I think (Y/N) is pregnant. Just don't touch her with any needles or science shit."
Levi spoke flatly; crossing his arms after his little announcement was over. I smiled gently towards Hanji as she dropped her scalpel to the floorboards below. After a couple of deafening seconds past, the most deafening scream followed after.
"Oh my god, Levi! I knew this day would come! You've met such a lovely lady and your life is so beautiful! AHH! I don't know what to do! Congratulations, (Y/N)!"
I smiled nervously and muttered "thank you," several times. Just as I was about to hug Hanji by myself, she practically tackled me to the floor with a loud squeal. Levi immediately scolded her actions and began lecturing about 'safety.' Hanji paid no mind and continued to hug me into oblivion.
"I'm so happy! Have you decided on a name?"
Levi loosened his cravat with a blunt sigh. Clearly Levi dislikes Hanji's bubbly presence. I smiled brightly as Hanji began to offer names we might want to consider. Levi shook his head and collectively voiced our feelings.
"We haven't decided yet. (Y/N) and I will talk about it later."
Hanji frowned; clearly hoping for at least one of her names to be liked by either Levi or myself. I enjoyed listening to Hanji's ideas, but every name she suggested was higher class. I understand our child will inherit Levi's riches later on in life, but I like names from Chi or maybe a French name that Levi has an emotional attachment to.
Luckily, Levi promised to discuss the topic later on. Hanji insisted we meet her in the throne room later on and left with a bright smile on her face. Levi turned to face me with a light smirk, I nervously parted my lips as Levi began to walk down the hallway. I hastily followed after him and lightly took ahold of his hand as we walked towards the royal gardens.
"Now that Hanji knows, expect everyone in the entire palace to know, (Y/N)."
Levi warned rather bluntly; even though I was still slightly nervous, Levi's warm hand kept my worries at bay. After approaching the heavy wooden door, I instantly knew the location on Levi's mind. The royal gardens is where Reiner was put to rest. Levi squeezed my hand and sternly nodded his head. As we walked through the doorway, beautiful flowers littered the grass and soft roses danced many bushes.
The royal gardens truly is a magical place to be. Sadly, Armin was fired after Reiner's death for understandable reasons. He could no longer tend to the flowers he worked so hard to cultivate. The hedge maze eventually began to fade, revealing a stunning apple tree in the middle of a hill.
Reiner's cross stood elegantly atop of an earthy mound. Many apples surrounded his grave and the scene looked like the exact replica of our hometown area. Even our beloved apple tree looked incredibly similar. As I approached Reiner's resting grounds, I noticed a small card lay against a bunch of daisies.
We'll eat noodles together, Reiner.
Wait for me.
-General Pixis.
After reading the note, my eyes welled with tears. To think General Pixis travelled all this way without my knowledge practically tore my heart in two. I miss Reiner so much... Levi stood with his back against a nearby tree and patiently waited for me. I smiled gently in response to his quietness and slowly lowered myself onto the grassy plains.
I began to meditate.
My mind began to clear after a few minutes.
Forgive me, Reiner. I have news to share with you...
|~~~~|
King Levi Ackerman, new ruler and potential father.
Time under the shade was oddly relaxing. Since (Y/N) broke the news of being sick, I was eager to remain by her side wherever possible. If my brat really has another brat inside of her, there's no way in hell I'll leave her alone. My long sought after wish to have a child with a caring woman is finally a reality.
My father claimed someone like me would never achieve such a fantasy. I couldn't be more relieved over the fact a baby is here to claim my throne. I've desired a child for over four years-- after my bad decisions with other women, I cringe in disgust whenever I reflect upon them.
I definitely abused the fact women wanted to claim the title of Queen, and deviously used that to my advantage. Believe it or not, father was proud of me sleeping around. He claimed my desire to only receive sex and nothing else would make me more sadistic when I eventually ruled as Prince.
He was wrong. I realised my mistakes and designed my own future. If I hadn't of noticed what blatant wrongdoings he taught me, I would never of met (Y/N). In fact, I probably would have sentenced her to death. The very thought disgusts me. Everything about that man disgusts me.
I leant against one of Reiner's many resting trees and studied (Y/N) from behind. She appeared to be motionless and completely silent-- any snap of a twig or crunch of a leaf would break her concentration. I had no choice but to wait until she finished speaking with Reiner. I'm sure they have a lot to talk about...
(Y/N) is my beloved and we shall marry regardless of people's opinions. Our child will be a fair and forgiving ruler, just like his or her father. Speaking of my child, I haven't thought of any names yet...

(Y/N), future Queen and potential mother.
I'm glad we got to talk like this, Reiner. I miss you everyday. Levi will take good care of me-- just like he promised. I'll make sure to bring my baby here so you can see him or her with your own eyes.
Leaving Reiner was tough, but the life he wanted me to live was waiting for me. I said my goodbyes and returned to the world of silence. Meditating is truly wonderful, I feel completely reenergised after completing an hours session.
As I stood up from my position opposite Reiner, I turned to see the most exotic sight known to man. Levi sat with his back against an apple tree-- asleep. The sight was so rare, I blinked in disbelief several times. I smiled gently and carefully approached the resting King.
Levi was an incredibly handsome man. I often wandered why he found me so attractive. I love Levi with all my heart, I just can't wait to start a family with him. After reaching Levi's position, I crouched down so we were face-to-face level. The raven haired King appeared dazed from the rays of sun that warmed his pale skin.
"Levi..."
I muttered softly.
"Leeevii~"
I mused several times as Levi slowly opened his eyes. In response to realising how close my face was, he instinctively flinched away. I chuckled softly and extended out my hand. Levi reluctantly accepted my gesture.
"How did he take the news?"
Levi questioned with a faint yawn. I smiled gently as the two of us linked arms and began to leave Reiner's resting place behind. Since the night was beginning to settle in, Levi removed his jacket and placed the material around my shoulders. I gratefully accepted his thoughtfulness.
"Who are you and what have you done with Levi?"
Levi rolled his eyes and tightened his grip on my arm as if to punish me for my words. I smiled in amusement as my handsome King muttered a reply under his breath.
"Very funny."
I sighed loudly and brushed down my navy dress-- kindly provided by Levi-- with a little pat. I knew Reiner was gone, but his soul might be able to hear my words. I told him of my potential pregnancy.
"I'm sure he'd be angry at you."
I cast my eyes to the grassy fields as Levi's palace began to fill my vision. Levi smirked softly and nodded his head in total agreement.
"Got that right."
A calming silence surrounded the two of us.
"I'm sorry I stole from you, Levi."
Levi chuckled faintly. Only faintly.
"I'm sorry I almost sentenced you to death, (Y/N)."
Levi loosened his hold on my arm and opted to hold my hand instead. I accepted his decision as the two of us approached the entrance to the throne room. Levi gestured to the armoured guards who stood either side of the doorway. Amazingly, the guards made two circles with their fingers and formed some sort of glasses gesture to Levi.
"Tch. Great."
Levi reluctantly entered his judgment area with a loud sigh. As soon as we appeared, Hanji's voice rung clear. Was that... some sort of unspoken 'Hanji alarm' between the guards and King Levi?
"There you are! I thought you'd ditched on me..."
Hanji pulled me into a gentle hug as I equally returned her warmth. Levi collapsed into his throne with a loud sigh. The three of us naturally began to discuss the potential baby into the depths of the night.
"What about Greg? That's lovely!"
"Can it, four eyes."
Levi muttered while lifting a glass of water to his lips. Hanji frowned and began to whine about other potential baby names. I smiled brightly as Hanji suddenly offered me a small piece of cheese and cracker.
"Why, thank you."
I exclaimed brightly, taking a bite from the incredibly light snack. Hanji seemed ecstatic and began to praise me for fighting so hard in order to marry Levi. The King himself quickly interjected.
"(Y/N) will marry me soon, four eyes. No need to bring up any pointless memories."
I flashed Levi a loving smile, he merely averted his gaze and took another sip of his water. After a few seconds, he gently patted his lap once again. Hanji cheered loudly when I gladly approached his awaiting legs.
Once fact remained clear:
I was no longer 'His Royal Guard.'
