Reiner and I stood in deep, low bows whilst avoiding the ferocious glare of our next king. Prince Levi. Our crime? Climbing endangered pear trees and eating the fruit.
"You. My idiotic brat. Climbing pear trees with injuries like yours was a stupid idea."
The Prince turned to Reiner with an equally frightful stare.
"As for you."
Reiner revived a solid, equally painful 'twack!' across the side of his left ear, causing a low groan to escape his lips. Payback, Reiner.
"Stay the fuck out my trees."
My lips twitched upwards; a smile threatening to form. All the times Reiner's lobbed varieties of fruits at my head, the Prince gets a free ear shot.
"Something funny, foreigner?"
I immediately tensed, my smile vanishing as I frantically shook my head. Not another punishment! Surely he wouldn't in front of Reiner?
"Both of you, out. Wait for me to return."
I bowed for a final time as Reiner and I began to leave the Prince's throne room - once we were far away from the Prince possibly eavesdropping on our voices - Reiner quickly raised his hand onto his ear and cradled his fleshy lobe, wining in pain.
"Ow! That guy has some pent up strength, considering he's so short..."
I worriedly checked the hallway was empty before quickly placing my hand over Reiner's blabbering mouth - if anyone were to overhear his words; Reiner's gunna get a one way ticket to the cells.
"Do keep quiet, I don't want to get another scolding because of you."
Reiner shrugged his shoulders, leaning against the golden walls with a bored sigh.
"General Pixis said to keep an eye out for you... he really has changed since our trials."
I rolled my eyes upon hearing Reiner's words. General Pixis really did prove himself to be a changed man the last time I saw him, but without Reiner by his side, what in the word is he doing as we speak?
"Hm~ I see."
Reiner glared at my unenthusiastic response, grunting as he pointed down the hallway.
"Hey. I'm nice to 'Mr. Sunshine' on the throne. Respect General Pixis... he's a good man, and my master."
My eyes widened; Reiner serves General Pixis perfectly, desperately trying not to make mistakes. He values his opinion so highly... he even followed him everywhere after Marco passed away.
"Follow me, foreigners. I'm meeting with Prince Eren."
Prince Levi looked and sounded furious even speaking Eren's name. He briskly walked between the two of us and clicked his fingers. Reiner scowled, but followed behind regardless.
"A Prince visiting?"
Reiner questioned the Prince as he lifted a finger to his lips, pointing towards a closed wooden door. Muffled voices, one I quickly recognised to be Prince Eren Yeager and another lighter, more feminine voice who's I didn't know.
"I have something to do. Don't talk. Don't move. Just stay beside me."
Reiner furrowed his brows upon seeing my fearful aura. Eren's authority does indeed worry me. Prince Levi placed his pale hand onto the golden handle as the door creaked open to reveal familiar ocean eyes and a scared, blond little boy - around the age of seventeen.
"Levi- hah? Moving around already, (Y/N)? Such good news~"
I stiffened as did the blond boy who's head reminded me of a small coconut.
"My servants are not required to speak to you. What is it you wish to show me?"
Eren eerily leant forward, patting his pockets which crumbled like paper. He must carry a lot of contracts around...
"Here. Take a look."
The Prince lowered himself onto a green leather stool - studying a picture - sadly, his sturdy shoulders blocked the image from my view.
"What the fuck is this?"
Eren chuckled, his blue ring sparkling off the light from a large chandelier which hung elegantly from the ceiling.
"Naturally, the language of Chi is hard to read, but my little smarty over here can translate for you."
The young boy cleared his throat nervously before glancing downwards at the torn, rather old looking piece of paper.
"Reiner Braun and (Y/N) ???? formally known as 'Chi's strength' wanted for-"
"Stop it."
Reiner quickly interrupted the young boys words, angrily grabbing his scabbard.
"Shut up. Read any more and I'll kill you."
I quickly placed my hand onto Reiner's shoulder, but his eyes were lost to the void of grief and anger.
"Please don't read anymore, little boy."
I smiled warmly as his eyes widened, looking back down at the torn piece of paper, then to his contract holder - Eren.
"Wanted for what?"
The Prince's voice held authority and clear strength, but Reiner quickly became agitated.
"Rip that shit up. Rip it up!"
The little boy flinched, withdrawing his arms closer to his chest in response to Reiner's outburst. I stood beside the Prince, who looked up to meet my distressed smile.
"Whatever it is, I don't care."
Prince Levi stood from his seat, abandoning the information I sensed he was curious to discover. What a kind gesture towards Reiner.
"Hah? You don't wish to learn about that pretty little guard of yours?"
The Prince sighed loudly, neatening his cravat with a intense glare.
"No. If that's all, I'd really like you to fuck off."
Eren's features darkened as he angrily slammed his hands onto the wooden table, sending the paper fluttering to the expensive carpet.
"I certainly didn't expect (Y/N) to snake me out from a contract like that. She's the first person ever to escape a contract created by myself."
I tensed as Reiner looked furious, his eyes widening upon discovering I'd left the Prince's side for even a second. I left my village behind to live here...
"I wish I'd given you twenty lashes just to see those pretty burns bleed out."
I lowered my head, my mind instantly recalling the intense lash from the whip, striking my back once was beyond torture, let alone twenty. The Prince let out a long, overdrawn sigh before clicking his knuckles together with a dead, empty stare.
"I hoped to of avoided this, but now you've pissed me off."
A flurry of raven hair and then a deafening crack echoed around the room - my eyes widened upon seeing Eren clutching his nose, a small gasp leaving his lips. The Prince just punched Eren! His nose is broken!
Eren's nose remained twisted to the left, blood gushing from his nostrils and trickling down his chin. The young blond boy began to wipe tears of shock from his eyes, sniffing gently.
Eren was eerily silent, clicking his fingers for the boy to follow behind him as the two briskly left the room, leaving the palace walls completely silent. Like they'd never visited in the first place.
The Prince examined his pale skin, his knuckles blazed a soft red from the force of the punch. I stood in complete awe; I've never seen Prince Levi lose his cool ever. Such a brash action... was that a gesture of defence on my pride? Did he get angry on my behalf?
"(Y/N)... that Prince lashed you?"
I gently nodded my head, sheepishly scratching the back of my neck.
"Yes."
The Prince clicked his tongue, demanding we speak his language as he crouched low to the regal carpet examining the crumpled paper. Who knows what Eren had in store for us... now he has a broken nose...
Prince Levi only glanced at the foreign language a single time before handing the paper to Reiner - who proceeded to rip the saddening information to pieces.
"Meeting concluded."
Prince Levi looked rather smug - a satisfied glint sparkled within his steel eyes. I sense the urge to punch Eren's face was long over due. Reiner leant forward into a deep, respectful bow. Not to the knee - only General Pixis owns his soul.
"Thank you."
Prince Levi rolled his eyes, clicking his fingers with a dismissive glare. He disregarded Reiner's bow...
"Don't mention it. I'll learn that information soon enough."
Reiner let a small chuckle escape his lips, gently pulling me into a distressed hug.
"I'm sorry, (Y/N)... he lashed your burns."
Prince Levi rose his eyebrow suspiciously at the gesture, his eyes darkening.
"I-It's okay!"
The Prince sensed my immediate panic over his glare and smirked in response - mocking me. I silently assured him of my emotional weakness over his gestures compared to Reiner's.
A silent conversation... yet I look pathetic... Reiner moved away with a warm, friendly smile. I'll miss you... Reiner...
"I haven't got all day."

"...Nn..."
I let a groan of complaint escape my lips as the Prince studied my healing stitches with a sharp stare.
"Quit wining. Let the medic change the wraps."
I flinched as the 'red rose medic' trailed a disinfectant covered rag down my spine, gently dabbing at my yellow burns with a small grunt.
"Does it look bad?"
I quickly questioned as the Prince leant against the white washed walls, stiffly crossing his arms.
"Yes. Now keep quiet."
I felt my face redden. If he watches my bandages being changed... he'll see... well... me.
"I hate to sound rude, but c-could you leave for the bandage part?"
The Prince clicked his tongue, his eyes darkening ever so slightly, but he reluctantly nodded his head. You'll see my chest otherwise, you perverted idiot! Why on earth did I stutter?
"Ah!"
I quickly covered my lips with my hand, tears pricking the corner of my eyes as the intense sting forced me to avert my gaze from the Prince's dirty stare.
"One of the stitches is undone... did you climb up something?
The pear trees...
"N-No...."
Prince Levi glared upon hearing my lie - but thankfully didn't call me out. I winced as the needle entered my wound, quickly restitching the wire into place. The Prince left the room and closed the wooden door behind him, allowing me to sit up as the medic began to roll fresh bandages across my upper back.
After a few seconds the medic nodded his head in approval, glancing at my shirt with a reassuring smile. I gently slid my beige long sleeved shirt over my head and hopped down from the pristine bed.
"The task is all finished, your majesty."
The wooden door slowly opened, revealing the intense glare of the Prince, who demanded the medic leave the room.
"W-Where is Reiner?"
I bashfully started a conversation, this room only reminds me of the kiss - nothing else. Prince Levi crossed his arms with a low sigh.
"He's guarding Petr- Lady Ral..."
I furrowed my brows, adjusting the leather criss cross pattern across the neck of my shirt. Lady Ral... why so formal? The Prince sensed my confusion and harshly answered with:
"I called off the engagement. I haven't announced this information to the palace yet - so keep that shitty brat mouth of yours shut."
I immensely ceased my fiddling, looking up and meeting the dull stare of the Prince, his actions hinted no sign of distress over the broken engagement and I thought everything seemed well. Clearly not.
"Oh. I see. I won't question any further."
Are you upset? Why? I'm sorry I didn't notice. I lowered my head, leaning forward into an apologetic, but loyal bow.
"You have nothing to be concerned over. I did what was necessary."
Prince Levi stepped closer, lifting my head up with a sharp click of his tongue. My eyes widened as he leant close, his hands grazing my upper back, tracing my first lash from the whip.
"Nn..."
I rose my hand over my lips, flustered over my painful sounds as his finger traced lower - gently running down the middle of my spine, nearing my second lash.
"It hurts..."
I whispered as his touching suddenly froze. I kept my left arm high above my face, hiding my pink blush and watery eyes. Instead his hand forcefully lowered my arm, smirking upon seeing my flushed features and worried eyes. Prince Levi leant close again, this time almost teasingly, but after a few seconds he pressed his lips against mine.
My heart raced at his gentle gesture as his hands lowered to my hips. There's no chair to limit his actions this time... his kiss became more needy the further his hands strayed - passionately speeding up as I let a small whimper escape.
"Nn..."
Prince Levi demanded I open my mouth as I reluctantly parted my lips. His hands are lowering! His tongue quickly entered my mouth, meeting mine as I softly began to breath through my nose.
"Nnf...!"
The Prince's touching continued as I felt my body become more and more heated to his hands.
"Stay still."
Prince Levi's hand groped my chest as a strangled cry sounded at the back of my throat, but was lost to the passion of the kiss. My protests caused sticky saliva to trickle down my chin.
"Hn~ nnf~!"
I rose my arms to his shoulders in request for him to stop, but he only furthered his actions, rubbing his fingertips over the most sensitive part of my chest. A-Again? My body shook with pleasure, but my brain voiced my immediate panic.
"Nn! Stop~"
Upon hearing my voice Prince Levi pulled away with a shaky exhale, wiping his lips with a clearly frustrated and unfinished sigh.
"You've improved, not by much though."
I quickly wiped my chin, feeling warm saliva dribble from my lips. The Prince watched in amusement, turning on his heel with a loud sigh.
"Follow me. I'm sure Reiner is waiting for you."
I gently nodded my head, my heated temperature beginning to lower. These punishments are becoming too much... he never explains himself! Not to mention he ended his engagement... did he feel guilty over kissing me behind his fiancée's back?
I closed the wooden door, leaving the medical room with a small sigh. I turned, expecting to see the Prince already quite a distance down the hallway - only I collided into Prince Levi's broad shoulders.
I just walked into the Prince! I immediately leant forward into a bow, biting my lip in apology - only the Prince didn't turn around to face me, in fact - he remained stiffly rooted to the white palace tiles.
I felt a wave of confusion wash over me as I tilted my head to the left - only to meet the wide eyes of Petra, who had her hand over her mouth in complete shock. Oh no... did she walk in while I was receiving punishment?
"Did you call off our marriage for her, Levi?"
I felt my eyes widen in intense panic, with Petra's discovery she could easily sentence me to hang by saying: I bewitched and sexually deceived the Prince.
"I did not. I waited for the right time to inform you."
Petra frowned, her honey eyes melting into a soft yellow, glossy and clearly distraught.
"The right time? When we're you going to inform me on your involvement with an... an outsider!"
I remained in a low, regretful bow, refusing to lift my head and meet her broken eyes. I'm sorry lady Ral...
"My involvement with the foreigner has nothing to do with our marriage."
Petra wiped the tears from her pale face and looked down upon me. I sensed her heavy stare burn into my very soul, her words slicing through my insides.
"If only I had the strength to sentence you to hang, foreigner."
