Chapter 50: In love, one must give whilst they take
When the car got to the hospital, Anahi dragged a now unconscious Adeline into the hospital.
The receptionist got up from where she was sitting, staring at the two women in shock.
"What happened to her?" she asked.
"I need water." said Anahi, ignoring her.
The lady nodded frantically, handing a bottle of water to Anahi, who opened it and emptied its contents on Adeline.
"What the hell! That water was cold!" whined Adeline.
Anahi rolled her eyes.
"So is your heart." she said, glaring at Adeline.
"Ma'am you're wounded." said the receptionist.
She touched the back of her neck and sure enough there was blood there.
"I'll be fine."
She turned to a soaked Adeline and dragged her to the waiting room.

She pushed Adeline at Isabelle's feet.
Isabelle and Cielo got up.
"Ana, what's going on? Why is she here?" asked Isabelle.
"Anahi, you're injured." said Cielo.
"That's not important," said Anahi, "she's the reason why Dante is in the hospital."
Between life and death.
That thought was enough to make her want to kill Adeline herself.
Yet, she knew it wasn't in her nature to be so vicious.
"What did she do?" asked Isabelle, glaring at Adeline.
"She tampered with the brakes." said Anahi.
Isabelle had heard enough.
She lunged at Adeline, intending to do some damage but Cielo held her back.
"Let go of me!" she screamed, struggling against Cielo's grip, "I will send that b*tch to hell and back!"
"Isabelle, I'm sorry." said Adeline, bursting into tears.
"Sorry can't undo anything you obsessed f#cker!" cried Isabelle.
"I love him! Why would I intend to harm him? It was for her!" she yelled, pointing at Anahi.
Now Anahi was angry.
"Nobody is gonna hold me back." she said, walking towards Adeline and hitting her.
Some people stopped to watch it all.
Some shook their heads at Anahi.
Others just enjoyed the fact that a fight was going on and security hadn't arrived yet.
Then security came and broke the fight up.
"Calm down miss." said one of them.
She shook them off.
"I'm calm." she lied.
"You don't even deserve him!" yelled Adeline.
"He already decided who deserves him, rather who he deserves." said Cielo.
"I love him."
"You don't even know what love is!" snapped Isabelle.
"Oh and you did?" sneered Adeline.
"Why is everybody wasting their time to argue with you? Just call the police." said Anahi, already tired of Adeline's words.
"I still don't get why he chose you." said Adeline.
"I don't understand either." whispered Anahi.
"You rejected him so many times, you left him and yet he ran after you! You! What do you have that I don't? We grew up together, he and I! He bought you!"
"She didn't try to kill him." said Isabelle.
"So what was I supposed to do? Accept defeat?" asked Adeline.
"Sometimes you love and you win, other times you lose and you start all over again." said Cielo.
"I loved Sebastian, he never loved me. Maybe the day will come when somebody else will enter my life and love me for who I am. Nobody ever knows what the future holds. In love, one must give whilst they take. You won't understand Adeline, you never truly loved my brother." said Isabelle.
Adeline looked at the three women in front of her.
She knew that there was no way out.
Unless Dante woke up.

The doctor came out of the operating room.
"Mr. Nublas is out of danger."
Anahi sighed in relief before collapsing.

When Anahi opened her eyes, Dante was smiling at her.
She got up.
"You're okay." she said, smiling.
He chuckled, reaching for her hand and squeezing it.
"Of course I am, I have years left to trouble you. Or you'd prefer that I lost my memory?"
She laughed, shaking her head.
"No? I could've always ended up in a coma."
Her face became serious.
"Don't joke around like that."
"Sorry, I heard you were worried sick about me." he said.
She sighed.
"I was, I was extremely worried. I don't know how I would've felt to know that anything happened to you and it was my fault."
He shook his head, wiping the tear that fell from her cheek.
"No it wasn't. It was Adeline's fault." he said.
"How long was I out?" she asked.
"Three days."
She muttered a string of curses about how hard Adeline hit her.
Dante laughed.
"That's not all I know. I heard you beat her up pretty good." he whispered.
She folded her arms.
"She deserved it."
He sighed deeply, still unable to believe that Adeline went so far as to attack him.
He was glad when she was thrown into jail.
He knew all that Anahi did to her.
"You know something?" he asked, pulling her close.
"Hmm?" she said, unsure as to how she should answer him.
"If you intend on becoming a lawyer, we'll have to clean up your record." he says, handing her an envelope.
She opened it and gasped.
Ms. Chinike, your application to our college has been well processed. We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted. We look forward to seeing you early Monday morning.
She looked at Dante, unable to believe what she just read.
"This isn't a dream." she said, pinching herself.
He smiled.
"Remember when I told you that you'll see nothing but good dreams?"
She gave him a look and he raised his arms in silent surrender.
"Okay, so there were a few nightmares here and there. I'm not perfect, hell nobody is. All I can promise you is good memories."
She smiled tearfully.
"This is the most sweetest thing you've ever done for me." she said, pulling him and kissing him on the cheek.
He chuckled and pulled her closer.
"Dante, a nurse could walk into this room any minute." she whispered.
"Ask me if I care." he said, letting his lips touch hers.
Indeed he didn't.
And who ever cares when they're with the love of their life?
