Chapter 12: Rubies

"Alright Bob how many rubies do I need?" Emlyn asked as Inferno lead the way to the Chimera's cave.

"You'll need two." Bob responded and Emlyn knew that meant she needed 4 so she could have up to 10 uses for the spell.

"We are here." Inferno said as he landed and Emlyn nodded.

Her and Inferno headed into the cave together leaving the others outside. "Hello?" Emlyn said aloud and a chimera came forward hissing at her.

"What are you doing here?" It asked and Emlyn smiled gently.

"I don't want any trouble I would like four rubies and in exchange Inferno here will turn any of your rubies to fire rubies that you wish." She said and the Chimera looked suspicious.

"Let me consort with the others." He scampered off deeper into the cave for only a moment but returned quickly.

"We accept your bargain, come with me." They followed the Chimera into the cave which soon filled with light. Emlyn and Inferno saw in front of them 1000s of rubies.

The Chimera reached over grabbing 4 and placing them into a bag. He turned to face them as a few other Chimera's pulled a bunch of the rubies aside. "Turn that small pile to fire rubies and these 4 are yours." He said.

Inferno without question blew fire on to the rubies and they soon began to burn turning to fire rubies. "Very good, here you are." He handed the bag to Emlyn and her and Inferno left to meet the others.

"I hope everything is that easy," she placed the rubies into the bag Stella was carrying. "Where are we going next?" She said as she looked at Stella.

"To the fairy kingdom meadowbrooke." They turned to head that way but thousands of fire soldiers stood behind them.

"Well, well we've been waiting for you to return." One of them said and Emlyn and the others prepared for a fight.

They worked with what they had but it wasn't going so well as Bob's pants got set on fire, Stella and Emlyn we're choking on smoke and the fire soldiers were about to overpower them.

"Inferno get me in the air!" Sarah shouted at him.

Inferno picked up Sarah on his back and rose into the air. Her hands lit up with ice and she blasted the soldiers with it and they all turned to ice. Inferno landed and set her down.

"Alright we need to get out of here before they unfreeze." The group ran for their lives following Stella as their guide.

"Meadowbrooke is this way we can make it in 5 minutes if we keep running." Stella shouted back at them.

They arrived in Meadowbrooke and panted for air, "This is place is pretty." Emlyn said looking around.

"Yes it is one of the most beautiful places in this world, just try not to mess anything up." Stella chuckled.

"Alright Bob what's next?" Emlyn said looking at him.

"Collect a small sack of dust from a pink, white, and black fairy. Pink and white should be easy the black fairies can be nasty but I'm sure we will figure it out."

"What's that about us being nasty?" A small group of 3 fairies floated up in front of them and Emlyn face palmed.

"Uh oops." Bob mumbled.
