Off On His Own... Ish (Part 3)
"Why is Cyrus shirtless?" Even Violet couldn't help but blush and stare, pushing he'd book to her face in an attempt to hide it.
Cynric was leaning back in the chair he was in, sore and bruised. Cyrus may have put him through hell, but it was all worth it in the end. "Cause he's hot- IT." He quickly looked to Violet. "BECAUSE IT IS HOT. YES. VERY HOT OUTSIDE."
"And why aren't you taking off your shirt, mister?" Violet eyed him teasingly.
"WELL, FIRST OF ALL, I HAVE DECENCY-" He caught himself again, flushing green. "Not that Cyrus has indecency but a Prince shouldn't be taking off his shirt Willy-nilly-" he shook his skull. "AND SECOND, I DON'T HAVE AMAZING ABS."
"Or any bulging muscles." Violet rolled her eyes.
"Sometimes, I wish I had skin and muscles." Cynric cried fake tears in mock distraught. "Maybe a bit of luscious hair too."
"Trust me," Violet pawed at her own hair, growling. "You don't want to deal with it."
Cynric was about to comment on that, planning to go into detail about how he would treat his imaginary hair everyday before Cyrus walked up to them. He was glittering with sweat and smelt of fresh sea breeze. "Hey."
Cynric nearly melted. "Hi."
Cyrus motioned out to sea. "We should be arriving in the next port tomorrow, so until then we should prepare."
Cynric blinked. "Prepare? What do you me-" but he stopped midsentence when he saw the grin on the other's face and he frowned. "Sparring."
"Right. Come on." Cyrus offered a hand. Cynric took it and stood.
Violet smiled at the both of them before getting up. "I have got to see this."
Cynric grumbled. "Great."
Cynric and his crew have been on the water for about two weeks now and are reaching land the next day. He had always dreamt of the adventure, the thrill of travelling, but found himself underwhelmed with how long journeys take.
Maybe even a little exhausted.
However, he found many ways to entertain himself, the same as tonight.
"What do you think the next place is like?" Cynric asked Violet quietly, staring into the warm fire as it crackles and popped throughout the night.
Violet was gazing up at the stars, holding a mug of hot tea. Her tail twitched before shifting closer to herself. "I don't know..." she tilted her head towards Cynric. "Maybe it will have machines which can soar into the sky or devices which could send letters in an instant."
She couldn't help but smile. "I think I've read something about those inventions before but I can't quite remember from where I have seen it."
Cynric's eye-light twinkled, staring at her with awe. "Woah."
"Seems impossible, right?" Violet sighed, looking into the flames now.
"Definitely." Cynric spoke softly, his eye-sockets drooping. He let out a small yawn before tracing the wood of the ship. "I think we'll meet lots of new people and become friends."
Violet couldn't help but giggle. "This isn't a fairytale."
Cynric smiled, laying down near the fire. His eye-sockets closed without much resistance. "I wish it was."
I really wish it was.
