☆ Chapter 13 ☆
"I can't believe you actually did that."
"I can't either. I'm not sure if it was worth the broken ankle and fractured knee."
Jimin hit Jungkook lightly with his casted arm.
"Oh and you think I'm happy about my arm?"
"I just don't understand why you'd do that."
The tension in the room was thick with all the words they couldn't say. They were back at Jungkook's house, sitting next to each other on his bed. The room looked just as it did when he was younger which sent Jimin's heart soaring.
"Jungkookie...I can't believe after all these years..." Jimin trailed off, obviously deep in thought.
"What is it hyung?" Jungkook asked, lightly grabbing at Jimin's hand and giving it an ever so gentle squeeze. Jimin smiled at that and squeezed back.
"It's funny how after everything we've been through all our lives with each other...we always end up in this room. We always used to talk things out in your room didn't we Jungkookie? And after we cried and hugged it out, we'd fall asleep tangled together ever since I was like six years old."
Jungkook smiled thoughtfully and intertwined their fingers.
"Remember when our parents wanted us to invite people over because they thought we spent too much time together." Jimin continued. Jungkook chuckled at that. Their parents were so silly.
"Yeah, and when they always used to separate us when we'd cuddle in blanket forts. No matter how much anyone tried to keep us apart, we always ended up together didn't we?"
Jimin looked over at Jungkook who was already looking at him with shining eyes. Jimin smiled and leaned forward to place a chaste kiss to Jungkook's forehead.
"Yeah, I guess we do."
Jungkook smiled as he closed his eyes and leaned his head on top of Jimin's who had already leaned on his shoulder.
"We have a lot to figure out Jiminie, but I wanna ask you...why? Why did you do that at the pier today?"
Jimin sighed and curled closer to Jungkook at the question. They were wrapped tightly in one big blanket courtesy of Jungkook's parents who prevented them from getting hypothermic.
"I just...felt so horrible. First I blamed you for everything. I was angry you ever used me, but then I thought maybe I'm just not that valuable. It's hard to explain, but I just got very self doubtful and sad. I told myself you didn't love me and never did and that you don't deserve me. I was mad at myself for shutting you out when my parents died...I'm really sorry Kook. Our fallout was really my fault. You texted me without fail every single day for a year after I moved, even when I didn't reply."
Jimin was shaking with little cries now, and Jungkook wanted it all to stop.
"Jiminie..." Jungkook sighed as he wrapped an arm around the man's fragile body. Jimin leaned into the touch automatically and cried into Jungkook's shirt.
"I love you so much Jimin." Jungkook whispered to the boy before pressing a kiss to his temple. That seemed to only make Jimin cry harder.
"You shouldn't love me Jungkook, you shouldn't."
"And after what I did, you shouldn't love me either, yet here we are. You'll never be able to get rid of me Jiminie. I'll always love you and be here for you."
Jimin gripped onto Jungkook's shirt like a vice with his unbroken arm and clung to him like a koala. Jungkook didn't mind one bit. He wrapped both of his arms around Jimin and leaned his head on top of Jimin's.
"Thank you, Jungkook, for everything."
"Anything for you Jiminie."

The two awoke the next day in loads of pain.
Jungkook woke up first and let out a groan at the pain in his head and legs. Jimin was right next to him, using Jungkook's chest as a pillow for his casted arm. He stirred at the groaning of Jungkook, but didn't wake up.
As if she sensed it, Jungkook's mom entered the room with painkillers and an ice pack which Jungkook gladly took. She looked thoughtfully and longingly at Jimin next to him and pecked both of their cheeks.
"He's a keeper Kookie, he always has been." His mother whispered to which Jungkook smiled and mouthed an 'I know'. She smiled widely before shuffling quietly out of the room.
"I'm a keeper huh?" Jimin mumbled when he heard the door shut. Jungkook laughed and reached over to smack his head lightly.
"I hate you Jimin."
"Oh, I'm sure." Jimin teased with a fit of giggles. Jungkook could listen to the wonderful sound everyday.
"Fuck." He muttered to himself but Jimin heard.
"What is it? Oh god, did I hurt something?" Jimin asked as he made a move to sit up, but Jungkook pulled him down and cuddled closer to him.
"No. I just love you so fucking much. I can't take it. I'm going crazy."
Of course Jimin erupted in more giggles.
"Jeez Jeon, just marry me already." Jimin said, but wish he hadn't when Jungkook stiffened next to him. It was way too soon to be talking like that.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean—"
"No, it's fine. Honestly Jimin, that doesn't sound too bad, but not right now obviously. We have a lot to figure out with ya know...us."
Jimin sighed in relief and nodded.
"Yes, yes we do."
