"Jackson, please."

"I don't know Kook. You left the team which showed your disloyalty."

"I'm so sorry! I was such a great pitcher and I've almost gotten a home run with him!"

Jackson paused and turned around to look at him with a smirk on his face. "Have you really?" He asked with sudden enthusiasm. Jungkook nodded and smiled at him. "I made out with him over my weekend at my house. There's only one base left hyung. He's totally whipped for me." Jungkook told him with confidence.

"That's hilarious. Jimin the baseball legend is weak for you. Okay Jungkook, I'll give you a second chance. Don't make me disappointed."

"Thank you Jackson hyung."

Jimin stood against the fence of the field completely alone. Jungkook said half an hour and it had already been an hour. He was hurt at the thought of the younger standing him up like this. He thought they were okay again, but maybe not.

"Jiminie hyung!"

Jimin looked towards the voice with a glare. Jungkook laughed as he ran over to him.

"Why are you laughing? You're late!"

Jungkook just smiled playfully before smirking at Jimin.

"I should've told you half an hour in Jungkook time."

"Jungkook time?"

"Yeah, I'm always late for shit."

Jimin didn't hesitate to punch him in the arm. Jungkook feigned hurt and gripped his bicep dramatically. "Jimin! That's my throwing arm!" But there was still a smile tugging at his lips. Jimin just hit it harder until the words sank in more.

"Why does your throwing arm matter if you quit baseball?"

Jungkook smiled at Jimin before looking down at his feet.

"Well...you see—"

"You didn't!"

Jungkook looked at him with confusion before giving Jimin a reassuring smile and nodding. The elder grinned widely. "How'd you get back in?!" He practically screamed.

"I guess the captain has a soft spot for me."

Jimin squealed before practically jumping onto Jungkook and clinging onto him tightly. Jungkook laughed as he wrapped his arms around him just as tight. Jimin pulled away from him just enough to look into Jungkook's eyes. The younger noticed them gleaming with tears.

"You're amazing, Kook."

Jimin smiled again before peppering kisses all over the giddy Jungkook's cheeks.

Jungkook reached one hand up to clutch Jimin's cheek and give him a delicate kiss on the lips. Jimin pulled away in surprise before leaning back in and pressing a chaste kiss on Jungkook's forehead, nose, and down to his lips.

"How about we play some ball now hyung?"

Jimin smirked before hopping down from where his legs were wrapped around Jungkook's waist.

"You're on."

"Alright hyung you got it this time." Jungkook encouraged at Jimin missed his pitch 4 times. Jimin nodded firmly and licked his lips before setting up his stance again.

Jungkook took in a deep breath before winding up the pitch and throwing the ball. He smiled when he heard the familiar clink of the bat meeting the ball. Jimin's beautiful laughter filled the air as they both watched the ball fly over the fence. Jimin ran the bases in a casual manner since he got a home run.

Jungkook's heart swelled with adoration as a memory came to his mind.

"Jiminie!" Jungkook shouted before getting hushed by Jimin.

"Don't sound so excited. You're gonna get me in trouble." Jimin whispered as he crossed the street over to the baseball field near their houses.

"Whatever hyung, we've got baseball to play."

Jimin sighed in annoyance before following the 9 year old Jungkook into the field. The little boy was just beaming and it radiated under the moonlight. Jimin's breath hitched and his heart raced at the sight.

"Alright hyung you can do this." Jungkook said with seriousness in his voice, but Jimin didn't miss the hint of playfulness either. Jungkook grounded his feet into the pitcher's mound as Jimin pushed his black bangs back into his red baseball cap.

Jungkook smiled widely at the look of determination on Jimin's face before throwing the ball. He gasped in surprise as it flew over his head and into the street behind them.

Jimin's hollering and giggles echoed through the park as he made his way around the bases very nonchalantly. Jungkook was so proud of Jimin for getting a home run. He knew how happy Jimin got whenever he achieved it.

When the elder hit home base he ran forward to the pitcher's mound and jumped into Jungkook's waiting arms. They both giggled wildly as Jungkook spun him around, the game they were playing quickly forgotten.

They spent the rest of the time laying in the dirt and looking to the stars in silence. The happiness danced around them in the warm summer air and neither wanted the night to end.

This is how Jungkook wanted to spend the rest of his life.

That memory made the younger practically delirious with happiness and glee.

Jungkook cheered and laughed as Jimin made it to the home base. He didn't have time to catch his breath before Jungkook jumped on him, bringing them to the ground.

Jimin continued to smile and giggle as Jungkook planted kisses on his cheeks down to his collarbones despite the sweat.

Jimin tangled his fingers in the younger boy's soft brown hair and caught his gaze. He was pretty sure he'd never seen so much emotion in Jungkook's eyes. It made his heart threaten to burst out of his chest.

"Jimin I love you. I always have."

Jimin's heart stopped for a few beats and his eyes widened, searching for sincerity. He saw it overflowing in the boy's eyes and knew it was true.

"I love you too Kookie. I never stopped loving you ever since we were kids."

Jungkook leaned down and kissed Jimin ever so gently and could taste the mix of their tears and chapstick. He smiled into the kiss and intertwined every limb he could on home base.

He never wanted to let Jimin go, and in that moment the bases to team captain were completely forgotten.
