Chapter 21: Happiness 1-15-17

Aragorn: 8 years old

Aragorn walked in and looked around Elrond's room. It was even better than he had expected. As he looked around, he couldn't help but have his mouth wide open.

The walls were painted a magnificent golden color with sparkles that shone from the sun that hit the wall through the windows. The windows were gigantic and outlined with beautiful silver swirls.

On the opposite side of the room was a door that was arched and outside looked to be a magnificent looking porch. On the porch were two chairs with a table separating them. There was a book sitting on that table as though Elrond had just been reading outside and left it there.

On the right side of the room was a tall tree that looked as though it were built into the wall. The branches of the tree held hundreds of books that were lined up along each branch. Aragorn imagined the tree to look quite beautiful with all its leaves. He would have loved to go up to all the books and read every single one.

On the opposite side of the room was a large table with maps, scrolls, and even more books spread across the surface. There were comfy looking chairs and bottles of Elvin wine on a nearby shelf close by. There were more plants on that side as well that made the room look even more complete and perfect.

In the center of the room was a swirly stair case that went up to probably another amazing looking room with more beautiful things inside. Aragorn ad never seen a room look this beautiful and organized in all his life.

Even the floor was nicely done. It was a beautiful tan marble color with light brown tangled lines running through causing a pattern to form. Aragorn almost felt guilty to walk on such an amazingly clean floor. There was a large rug in the center of the room, under the stairs, that made the room come together perfectly.

"What a lovely building this is," Aragorn said to Elrond who was still standing next to him.

"Thank you," Elrond said and moved across the room to the table was with all the maps, scrolls, and books, "When you were younger, you were in here all the time, but it was always during the night hours. It is much more beautiful when the sun reflects the light throughout the silver,"

Aragorn definitely agreed and was happy he was finally seeing the room during the daytime.

Aragorn followed him and sat down in one of the comfy looking chairs as Elrond did the same across from him. There was a magnificent smaller arched window next to the chairs they sat in. As Aragorn peered out he saw some Elves walking by and some Elflings playing in the grass. Then he looked back to Elrond and waited for him to speak.

"Your house is quite amazing," Aragorn said again rephrasing the sentence he said earlier.

"Thank you, Estel," Elrond said with a smile.

"So, you wanted to talk?" Aragorn asked.

"Yes. I have gotten word from the Elf queen of Lothlorien. Do you know her name?" Elrond asked.

"No, I haven't heard,"

"Her name is Galadriel and she wishes to speak with you," Elrond continued.

"About what?"

"About you. You don't know it yet, but you are quite an amazing person, young Estel,"

Elrond smiled and Aragorn asked another question,

"When will she be here?"

Aragorn wasn't sure why Elrond thought he would like meeting an Elf queen. He didn't much like talking to people he didn't know.

"Here? No... you will be going to her," Elrond explained.

This made Aragorn perk up a little and ask yet another question,

"You mean, I leave Rivendell to go to Lothlorien? How far away does she live?"

"It will be about a two-day ride,"

"Ride!?" Aragorn was now smiling.

Elrond must have sensed that he wanted to see what the world looked like. Ever since about last year, Aragorn had seen a map of Middle Earth somewhere and wished to explore all around. Elrond had told him that sometime soon he would get the chance. The chance had come.

"Oh yes," Elrond said seeing the boy get happier by the moment, "You will get to see the world,"

Aragorn couldn't help but stand, so he did and said,

"Is this really going to happen? When may I ask?"

Elrond's smile grew into a chuckle and he answered with,

"Tonight? Would you like that?"

"Tonight?" Aragorn almost shouted, but stopped himself.

"Now, you must remember that there are creatures hunting you. There may be works of evil looking for you, meaning that not all Middle Earth is a good place. There are many evil things about our world, but then again there are many wonderful things. Understand? I can't lose you,"

"And you won't," Aragorn said not sure were the quick answer had come from.

"Thank you, Estel,"

Aragorn gave Elrond a massive hug that Elrond was not expecting. He smiled brightly at the little boy wrapping both arms around him.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Aragorn repeated.

He couldn't wait to see the world. The mountains were one of the many things he wished to climb and see up close. Plants and an open blue sky. He also had to keep in mind that it was winter as well which meant he wouldn't see too much green, but at least he would be going on his first adventure.

"What should I do now then?" Aragorn asked stepping back from Elrond who was still smiling.

"Go get ready," Elrond answered.

Aragorn nodded the biggest nod and ran out of Elrond's beautiful house. He forgot all about his injured leg and jumped down the stairs leading up to Elrond's front door. Then he ran through Rivendell to his room. A couple times he almost slipped on the icy stone paths, but gained control of his footing each time. He couldn't contain his excitement.

Aragorn waved at the passing Elves as he ran. He saw Greakth too, but this time he wasn't as scared of him after the whole argument he had had with Elrond. Aragorn didn't wave at him knowing that would probably make the Elf even more upset. Greakth just stood there rock hard staring at Aragorn. If eyes could kill, Aragorn would be far gone by know.

Finally, Aragornreached his building and flung open the door. He raced inside and couldn'tbelieve that this night he would actually be going on an adventure.

A/N: I'm going on an ADVENTURE! (Sorry, i couldn't help it).
