TYPES OF TEAMS

Some of these teams are genin teams while others are not.

1. Analysis Teams : they are teams that gather and extract information. In Konoha, the analysis team worked closely with the Interrogation and Torture Force to get information from detainees.

Those who work in Analysis teams have high intellectual capability, and may even have a jutsu that works well with extracting information, like mind reading. Usually they are in positions of jounin level, though a chunin or genin can work there maybe doing a lesser job.

2. Kage Guard Teams : a group of elite shinobi whose job is to protect the kage. In Konoha, they were called Hokage Guard Platoons.

These are usually groups of jounin and elite chunin.

3. Infiltration and Reconnaissance Teams : they infiltrate and survey enemy grounds to gather information about the strategy of the enemy, as well as geographic, meteorologic,  and hydrographic information about the enemy's grounds.

Usually the members need skills involving camouflage, deception, sneakery, and analytical skills. It also helps if there's a sensory ninja there.

They can range from genin to jounin.

4. Intelligence Teams : shinobi who analyze collected information and results of operations to determine the identities, intentions, capabilities and activities of hostile individuals or groups and to determine requirements for future operations.

Requires great level of intelligence and analytical skills. Also requires observation and sneakery.

Intelligence teams can range from chunin to jounin (I don't remember genin teams doing any of what was mentioned above, though I could be wrong).

5. Barrier Team : teams that protect the village by putting up barriers around it.

Usually they are jounin, and in Konoha it was mostly Yamanaka shinobi that were involved in this job (don't ask me why)

6. Cryptology Team : shinobi who decipher secret codes and messages

Cryptology Teams are usually Jounins, with some chuunin doing lesser jobs. Cryptology requires puzzle solving skills, code interpretation and cracking, understanding of different code languages and understanding of seals and how they work.

7. Aviary Team : shinobi who just, deal with dem messenger birds lol. I'm guessing it can range from chunin to jounin because there was no genin team involved in it.

8. Scientific Ninja Weapons Team : This became a thing in Boruto, and they are groups of normal people who make scientific ninja weapons. Requires knowledge of engineering and technology, understanding of the chakra system and idk intelligence.

9. Search and Capture Teams : these are teams that have sensory jutsu as well as camouflage good enough to search and capture. An example is Team Kurenai. Kiba can sniff things out, Shino can use his insects to survey the area, and Hinata can use her ocular jutsu.

Requires sensory skills, camouflage skills, power, mapping out skills, etc.

10. Surprise Attack and Diversion Team : they give surprise attacks and divert the enemy's attention lmao. These teams must have a good idea of camouflage, flashy jutsu (like Deidara's bomb), and a really punchable face.

11. Frontline Teams : teams that do all the hard battles (Team 7 and Team Gai are an example). They fight in the frontlines and can have as much flashy jutsu as they want.

12). Defense Teams : Teams that defend duh.

13). Assassination and Espionage Teams : Teams that are made specifically for these two things, like ANBU.

14).  Interrogation and Torture Teams (I&T) : they interrogate and torture lol. No genin should not usually be working in this type of situation, but of course depends on who your oc is (like if it's Ibiki's daughter for example).

Requires a mind of stone and knowledge of psychology

15). Supplementary/Complementary Teams : like the Ino Shika Cho, teams with close co-operation have combo moves, and complementary or supplementary jutsu that assist each other in battle. Their teamwork is their priority.

TYPES OF SHINOBI

1). Honeypot Ninja : shinobi who use seduction as their  tactic against the enemy. This can be utilized in many ways, but just know that if your shinobi is a child then whoever they're seducing is a pedophile and you should write the situation as such.

2). Attack Ninja : eg. Lee. Their main job on the team is to attack the enemy.

3). Defense Ninja : their main job is to provide defense from the enemy.

4). Medical Ninja : it is advised that every team should have a medical ninja, and teams that don't have medical ninja will suffer more. Generally medical ninja do not engage in battle, unless they have the Byakugou or it's a last resort. Medical ninja are the biggest assets in the team, because if they die no one can heal the other team members, therefore they value their life.

5). Sensor ninja : like my homegirl Karin, sensor ninjas can detect enemy chakra and use that information to determine a strategy. Sensory ninjas do not fight as much and stay on the sidelines, providing information as the battle progresses.

Some sensory ninja do participate in battle, like the Hyuuga.

6). Convenience Ninja : a ninja who has a jutsu that is just convenient for the other team members. Usually can be called a burden to the team.

There's probably more but those are all that I know of.
