INTRO

Hello, my name is Raven, and welcome to my guide for how to write a review!

I am a very experienced reviewer and writer. Not only am I trained by Wattpad themselves for judging in contests like the Amby's, ONC, and Shorty's, but long before receiving Wattpad training, I became a professional reviewer and writer and have been for three years now.

I currently do many different writing tasks for my profession, though editing in CMOS (Chicago Manual of Style) and beta reading/reviewing are two of my most requested services.

I am a Wattpad Ambassador about to graduate with a double major in English and cinema, alongside a minor in Korean studies. Over the years, I have hosted many contests both on and off Wattpad, with me gaining my start back in 2020 on Quotev, inventing the weekly contest trend on Quotev, and I also popularized interviews and shops across that site with my account, JiminieJams.

On Quotev, I am considered one of the largest accounts. By Wattpad standards, it's small fry, but Quotev was relatively "new" back when I gained popularity. That means I saw many different writing styles that helped me learn how to host contests and review.

Most importantly, I am passionate about writing and learning. So even though I am very experienced, I would like to make it clear that my review style is my review style. The things I say in this book might not work for you, and that's okay! I encourage you to find your own style and voice within this wonderful community!

The purpose of this book is to guide you in the right direction, not lecture you, so please, if something I say here doesn't sound like it'll work for you, don't use it!

That's tip #1: When receiving advice, remember you don't have to take it. The point of advice is to help, so don't force yourself to people please and take advice that won't help you.

All of this is to say this book is for fun. It's not a 100% accurate lesson that's going to make you some review god or something, but I hope it's at least fun to read and a little bit educational. Remember to find your voice. Your voice is beautiful, so let it be heard.

Also, tw: opinions.

This guide will be full of opinions you may or may not agree with, and that's fine, but keep in mind this is how I've done reviews for years, including professionally, so I've had a long time to reflect on them. Please be respectful in the comments.

Thank you!
