I decided to make a new TRAILER! I think it’s better if I made something for my story! I hope you guys like it! >>>
Hush, Howl {14}
Darren
I was busy staring into Sapphire’s eyes that I didn’t noticed that Daniel and Rosy were already making out. My jaw literally dropped to the ground. Sapphire must’ve seen my reaction because she looked behind her and got a huge intake of breath. Her gasp was audible that it snapped the two out of their “make-out session” and looked at us with flamed cheeks. Daniel sure did a go for it.
“Uh… do you mind if you guys get a room next time?” I cocked questioning brows at them while their blush worsened. Sapphire was still staring at Rosy in shock with her mouth hanging open. Rosy eventually got irked by her reaction that she playfully smacked her arm.
When I looked around, I noticed a few people looking at them with the same reaction we have from a while ago. Rosy ended up grabbing her book bag, gathering her things while telling us that she’ll be in her first class.
“Okay! Mind your own business people!” Daniel cried out, flicking his wrist at them dismissively at the same time snapping all of the audience out of their trance. They all scampered off their positions and began to walk away. The scene would spread faster than flames of fire.
Sapphire slowly got over the scene and diverted her gaze to me with questioning brows. I shrugged at her innocently while watching her hands move fluidly in the air, creating her sign language. I was confused at first and jumbled the words, so it caused her to repeat it again. I made out the sentence by writing the letters down on a piece of paper—which I took from my book bag of course. I'm so glad she was just using the sign language alphabet, or else, I wouldn't have gotten it. “Does Daniel have interest on Rosy? I don’t want my cousin hoping that there is something between them when there is not.” Her sentence and expression sounded serious. She seemed really protective over her cousin.
I looked up at her straight in the eye with a smile. “Don’t worry about anything, Saf. Daniel is absolutely . . . positively . . . serious about Rosy.” I said with a reassuring voice.
I saw her mouth a few words which I deciphered as, “I hope so.” When she analyzed the name that I just called her, she turned to me with a quizzical look. But even before she could ask anything, new presence caught our attention.
“Did you just kiss the high-school nerd?” Caitlin came up with her friends, placing a hand on her hip while rolling a thick strand of her curly hair around her French-manicured finger. She looked directly on Daniel’s eyes, a hint of challenging expression clear on her face.
“Yes.” Daniel stood up on his full height, towering over Caitlin with a stern voice. “And I’m certain that I did not regret it. In fact, it’s one of the best things that I’ve done. So if you would please, Caitlin, get out of my sight before I make you leave myself.” He threatened, seriousness obvious in his tone.
Sapphire and I just looked up, watching the scene unfold. Caitlin smirked at Daniel and flashed him a challenging look. “Relax dude, I’m just asking. I don’t care how many losers you kiss. I ain’t here for you anyway.” Her gaze diverted down to me and she smiled sweetly. “I get that you like to hang out with the mute.” Her eyes made a short contact with Sapphire before looking at me, directly in the eye, crouching down to my level. “But I want to invite you on a party this weekend. It’s intended for the football team for leading victory the last game. And since you’re the quarterback, your presence is highly required. Besides, we can do something fun.” She winked flirtatiously at me, her fingers traveling up at my chest.
I instinctively pushed her hand away. “Sorry, Caitlin, but I’m not going anywhere without Sapphire.” I paused and wrapped an arm around Sapphire’s shoulder, protectively. “And don’t ever call her a mute. Because she has another way of talking. Her voice can’t be compared to others and I’ll never get tired listening to her all day. I’m pretty sure talking to you is worse than communicating with her.” My statement made her sweet smile curve down into a frown. Her eyes began shooting daggers at Sapphire.
“Fine.” She stood up and straightened herself, looking down at us as if we are on the lowest of the low status. “If you’d like to put it that way. Hang out with those freaking losers and I swear that one day . . . you’ll come begging on your knees in front of me to take you back. Remember this, Michaels, once you got bored hanging out with the high-school freaks you’ll come back to me.” She turned to Sapphire with the usual demanding smile. “So Sapphire, what are you going to say about it? Got your freak cousin on the run because she found her prince charming? Who does she expects she is? Cinderella?” all her companions laughed at her mocking statement.
Sapphire’s face got red with anger. She stood up, her hands curling into a tight fist. I watched in shock as her fist flew towards Caitlin’s face, punching her straight on the nose. Hearing a small crack, didn’t satisfy her because I can see her pulling her fist back to release another punch. I stood up and wrapped my arms around her, hugging her from behind to restrain her from doing any more violence. She was struggling under my grasp so I started whispering soothing words in her ear that seemed to calm her down.
“It’s okay, Saf. It’s okay. She’s not worth it.” I told her.
Sapphire slipped away from my grip, gathering all of her things and stomping away. It took me a minute to realize that Rosy was standing a few feet away from us watching. Tears were already threatening to fall from her eyes. Sapphire approached her cousin, hooking her arm with hers. They both started to pad away and it was Daniel’s reaction to stand up and follow them.
I cannot take to see my mate angry or near to the brink of breaking down.
She was clutching her now bleeding nose. “Listen, Caitlin, I don’t need you running around like a cockroach hiding on the tiny-tiniest corner where I am. Stop being a pest. Because once I caught you lingering around once again trying to get on every single decision that I want to make, you won’t only suffer public humiliation . . . I’ll do even worse. And do not question what I can do, because I swear you don’t know what I’m capable of.” And with that, I grabbed my things including my guitar and walked off—following the other three and leaving Caitlin along with her group stunned of my words.
~ *~*~
Sapphire
None of us wanted to talk about what happened earlier this morning. Rosy was already near on crying about the words the Caitlin said about her. Yes, she might believe in fairytales . . . but nobody knows of that fact beside me and her. I was glad that Daniel was sincere of his actions. I cannot take to see my cousin crying because of a boy—I don’t want her to experience any heart break. If I discover that Daniel was lying, then, he won’t see what’s coming for him.
Earlier this morning, I couldn’t take my anger anymore. I can take all those hurtful words that everyone says about me—but if it comes to my only best-friend, then I wouldn’t be able to take it.
I was stunned by how Darren and Daniel suddenly became protective over me and Rosy. You can see the pissed off and angry expression they have written across their faces until lunch just dropped by. I must admit that they were pretty aggressive. Rosy was grateful that Caitlin and her group steered clear os us after the little encounter that we had this morning.
The whole time, I wasn’t paying attention to what the teacher was saying. My mind was wandering off to nowhere, thinking about how harder high-school life would be with the boys sticking around. They brought good and bad advantage at the same time—but I did not mind those. What I was worried about is how the rest of the year would go with a situation like this.
I mean—the year was half-way finish and everything was going into proper places until the boys came along—transferring from another school. Honestly, I wanted to ask the two of them why they transferred to South Carolina. There were alot of questions that I was willing to ask the two of them, and they seem to feel the same towards us, too.
When the lunch bell rang, everybody in class scuttled out of the classroom and went out to have lunch. Since the boys weren’t with us together in the last class, we received a few glares from the girls inside the classroom. I guess it must’ve been because of the incident that happened this morning. We agreed with the boys that we’ll be meeting them along our way towards the canteen.
There were a few things that I would like to sort out from the last weeks of our sophomore year. And one thing coming along was Prom, it’ll be here within two months and Rosy and I both want to have normal experience—especially me, despite of my current situation, I want it to be a blast.
“Hey, we need some help with our Chemistry project. We need it passed tomorrow. Do you girls mind if you help us with it?” Daniel asked as we sat down on our own table. Rosy was currently digging on her food, but she managed to raise her hand and stick her thumb out as a sign of approval. I looked at Darren and nodded my response.
Rosy swallowed her food and spoke. “We need to ask my mom first.” She told them.
“Great. That wouldn’t be hard.”
Rosy brought out her phone and started fidgeting with the pad, dialing Aunt Farris’ number. She brought the phone to her ear and I heard Auntie answer within three rings. “Hello, mom—yes, it is school hour. Mm-hmm—I want to ask if we can come over to our friends’ house for chemistry project?—Uh-huh.” She paused and looked at Daniel straight in the eye. “They’re kind of boys…” she trailed off and there was a thick silence that followed. Daniel, Darren, and I were silent and still for the next event. Rosy stifled a squeal. “Yahoo! Yes, we’re allowed. But mom insisted about us being taken home before midnight. And she said she’ll be checking in on us every now and then to make sure there isn’t any funny business going on.” The last words came out as a whisper as she sighed.
“Well, that’s fine.” Darren piped up. “Our parents are home too anyway. And I’m sure they’d be delighted to meet you.”
“Wait! So you two live on the same house?” Darren and Daniel nodded their response, digging into their meals. Rosy bobbed her head up and down in understanding. “So what do you say, Saf?” Rosy turned to me.
I looked at her and shrugged. “I think that would be great.”
“Awesome!”
Well, I think it would be easier, right? Meeting their parents would be the tougher one. What if they despise us because of my condition? What will their reaction be?
Whatever it'll be, I hope they don't treat us like sh*t like others does. What am I even agreeing on? It'll take us deeper on trouble. And more trouble means more enemies. More enemies means hell... hell means no scholarship. I'm stuck in a huge crap.
Wow you guys! Werewolf #1 Romance #1 What’s Hot #1… I couldn’t ask for anything more!
