Chapter No. 10
society.
“Hello ladies, gentlemen, and hybrids,” The governor said and a few hybrids growled, “Now that hybrids have a place in our town we will elect one single hybrid to become a leader in their side of society.”
“Get on with it!” Someone shouted.
“I have spoken with many hybrids and they have told me who they think would be best fit to lead the hybrids.” He said and looked at us hybrids.
“I think I know who he picked!” A hybrid squealed.
“I bet it’s me!” A cocky hybrid said with a confident laugh.
“This hybrid has a unique way in communication, is determined, is respectful, and never stops until she succeeds.” He said.
“The hybrid I choose is....” He started and you could feel the tension and suspense in the air, “Sigherra Johnseen! While young, she knows how to communicate, make big decisions, and complete every goal she has. She will stop at nothing to make sure everyone it safe and protected, even if it costs her life.”
“Oh my gosh! Sigherra! I’m so happy for you!” Everyone squealed and hugged me.
I smiled faintly, but felt I didn’t deserve this spot in society.
I’m too young, and don’t have a good enough grasp on life.
“The hybrids I spoke with went between two names. Sigherra won with two hundred ninety three votes, and beat Zoro, who had two hundred ninety TWO votes! It was close, but in the end Sigherra won her place as a leader in society.” He said and I nearly passed out.
“How did this happen?” I asked, “How did a girl like me get a place in society?”
“The people of this town -humans and hybrids- respect you.” He said and I smiled; that's all I needed to hear.
{Time skip to 2 years later}
I took a deep breath and sighed as I leaned against the brick wall and closed my eyes.
“Tough day, huh?” A voice asked and I turned to see my friends.
“Hey guys.” I muttered as a smile crept onto my face.
“Do you have time to hang out?” They asked and I checked the time.
“I just got out of a dumb counsel meeting, so i’m free for the next few hours.” I said and they cheered.
“Let’s go get ice cream!” Dabi cheered.
“Yes!” Everyone cheered.
Our lives were peaceful after that, and nothing seemed like it could ever go wrong.
But, were we wrong?
The only thing that matters is that we're all together and safe.
But then Ein escaped prison.
And he wants revenge.
