Chapter 10: "I Remember"
{Cloud's Point of view}
"What do you want from me?!" I yelled as I rocked back and forth on my bed, scientists and doctors surrounding me. "I've given you everything! I don't have anything else!" I cried as one of the doctors stepped towards me.
"We know you have something else!" He yelled as he grabbed my wrist and yanked me off my bed.
"No!" I yelled as he reached under my pillow and pulled out a small stuffed animal. "That was my sisters! Please...let me keep it..." I said quietly as I started sobbing.
"You can't have anything from your past! You were never supposed to meet her." One of the female scientists growled as I glared at her.
The scientists and doctors walked out, all except for one male scientist and one female doctor. The male looked pale and was holding a giant needle.
"What's that for?!" I asked quickly, my eyes growing wide.
"I'm sorry..." He whispered as he slowly started walking towards me. "You can't remember anything..." He said as the doctor then ran towards me and held me down while the scientist jabbed the needle into my arm.
"Gah!" I screamed as I fell to the floor. Everything went dark as I felt the floor meet with my hip.

"Cloud? Cloud!" I heard someone yell, shaking me awake.
"What?!" I asked quickly, afraid of invaders. I immediately fell off the bed. I hadn't slept in one in a long time. As it turns out, the cabin we found was abandoned. Figures. Who would want to live so deep in the woods?
"Sorry. I didn't mean to make you fall." I heard skittlez giggle as I sat up, rubbing my head. "I woke you up because you were crying in your sleep. Are you okay?" She asked, concern in her eyes.
"Yes. I'm fine." I muttered as I went back to my dream. Why would I dream that I had a sister? I had no relatives.
"Okay. Well, midnight has gone out hunting and wanted to know if you wanted to come. She's pretty worn out since she is the only one who hunts around here."
"Sure!" I said quickly. I had always enjoyed hunting. I caught a bird here and there in the laboratory that the scientists had let lose in my room, but I had never actually gotten a chance to really hunt.
"She is waiting by the flowers." She said as she started walking away, probably to find Kat.
I walked outside and spotted midnight immediately. She was very noticeable because she was laying in pink flowers. Obviously pink and black don't blend well. I decided to practice my stalking skills and got down on all fours. I very carefully crept towards midnight, downwind, barely picking my paws up off the ground. When I got close enough, I jumped and landed squarely on her chest.
"Ah!" She screamed as she jumped up and tried to climb a tree.
I sat in the flowers, laughing. That's when she realized it was me.
"Don't do that!" She yelled as she gently nipped my ear.
"Ow..." I said rubbing it. "Let's just get going." I said chuckling as she turned away.
"I smell a turkey over here." Midnight said as I immediately picked up on the scent. We were close and midnight was just bounding along, noisy as can be!
I went ahead a little bit and saw the turkey. It had heard midnight and was facing her.
"Perfect." I whispered as I crept forward again.
I stalked up to it, and right when it stared to run, I jumped on it.
"Midnight! Come hold it's legs!" I yelled as it started scratching me with its talons.
Midnight rushed over and held its legs while I but its neck, hard. It was refreshing to me. To have my fangs sink into something again. I tasted the sweet taste of blood and let go. Midnight was staring at me with wide eyes, as if she had just seen a ghost.
"What?" I asked, confused as I licked the blood from around my mouth.
"I never knew you could hunt...and I never knew you were such a vicious hunter!" She said as her tail started wagging.
"The scientists used to let birds into my room for me to catch." I said as her eyes lit up.
"They used to let rabbits into mine." She said as she picked up the turkey and we started walking back towards the cabin.
"Wow! Nice catch guys. We will eat good tonight." Kat said as she eyed the turkey.
"It is a pretty fat turkey." Skittlez said as she walked in. "Who caught it?" She asked as she looked at midnight, expectantly.
"We both did." She said. "Cloud somehow knew exactly where it was and stalked it. She pounced on it and I held its feet so it wouldn't claw her and she practically bit its throat out." She explained as I smiled.
"Wow. I never took you for a hunter." Kat said as she looked at me.
"The scientists used to leave birds in my room for me to catch." I said as I saw her wince a little bit.
"Let's eat!" Skittlez yelled as midnight set the turkey on the ground.
When we ate, we were sort of like a pack of lions. The person, or people, who caught the food got the stomach part, and the others ate around it. There was usually enough to fill up everyone.

"I'm stuffed." Kat said as she laid down on her bed.
"Me too." Midnight said as she curled up on a rug in the floor. I had no idea why she liked sleeping down there, but I didn't question it.
"Me three." Skittlez said as she went to her bed, near the door. We all took turns in that bed because it was the 'guard' bed.
"I'm not gonna say me four because that's lame." I said as Kat chuckled. "Goodnight everyone!" I yelled.
"Goodnight!" Everyone yelled back.

"What happened?" I asked as I woke up.
I had a cat tail and ears, with fangs and claws, but somehow, I wasn't worried. It was as if I had these forever. I also didn't remember anything that had happened the previous day...or anytime before that day...it was as if I hadn't existed until now. Weird.
"Patient 336 is awake." I heard someone say outside in the hallway.
"Hello." I heard a man say.
"Who are you?" I asked as I let my claws slide out, hidden by the sheet.
"I'm Rodger. I'm going to be your keeper." He said.
"Okay..." I said, confused. I didn't know what a keeper was, but I wasn't going to ask. I slowly let my claws slide back in.
"So, how's your sister?" He asked hesitantly.
"What sister? I don't have a sister." I said confused.
"Ah, yes. I must be thinking of another patient." He said, almost happily. "Now, let's see here. With the day that you were given the shot, you will need another one in about thirteen years to keep the thought away." He mumbled as he wrote something down on a piece of paper.
"What thought? And what shot?" I asked again, even more confused.
"Oh, not you dear. I was talking about, um, me. I have to take shots because of flashbacks." He said quickly as he rushed out of the room.
'Weird.' I thought to myself.
I just let my claws slide in and out, trying to remember something. Anything! But, nothing came. It didn't bother me though, and I didn't know why. My mind was saying one thing, but I felt like I had just lost everything I had known. And somehow, I knew that nothing from here on out was going to be the same.

I woke up with a start and remembered my dream. "Thirteen years would have been...yesterday!" I muttered to myself quickly. I didn't know who my sister was, I didn't even know if I really had one or if it was just a dream, but somehow I knew that this was real. That this wasn't just a dream. It was a memory.
"I won't give up. I will find her. I will give my all, even if I have lost everything." I mumbled to myself, making that a promise, as I fell back asleep.
