Chapter 14: Bickering
Last chapter was just a troll chapter, here's the real chapter. Also, 3k reads?! The four of us thank you all so much! I know it's not the best story you have ever read before, believe me, I know I'm not a good writer. Cloud and I try our best though. 😅
~Kat
( Kat is being redonculos XD she has imprisoned us here!! -Midnight)
{Skittlez's Point of view}
"Ouch, Midnight, stop stepping on my tail!"
"Well, then stop kicking dirt in my face Cloud!"
"I'll claw both your tails off if you two won't shut up!"
I mentally face-pawed as I watched Cloud, Midnight, and Kat bicker. We've only been walking for an hour and they just couldn't get along. It was sad, yet oddly funny at the same time.
After a week of staying in that stuffy log cabin, we were back on our adventure.
"Maybe they'll stop arguing if you take a break." Anastasia's voice urged inside my head. Sometimes Anastasia talks to me inside my head rather than talking physically. That's just one of the many powers my sister possesses.
But we've only been walking for an hour, I protested.
All I was greeted with a response was silence, which meant she had already won the argument.
I sighed, "Alright, let's take a break."
"Thank goodness!" Midnight groaned as she face-planted the ground in exhaustion, landing right on her pet deer, Fawn.
Fawn emitted a surprised cry of panic and quickly butted Midnight square in the chest, making her topple off the deer.
"Ouch," she whined as she stood up, fixing her wildly tangled hair.
"That's what you get," Kat snorted as she gently took the deer's muzzle and stroked it, calming the panicked animal.
A couple days ago, Midnight found a young deer wondering lost through the forest, looking for its mother. Since no one was going to care for it, Midnight took it under her fur; metaphorically speaking of course.
I was about to reply when I felt a soft head nuzzle my neck, making me jolt up in shock. I looked down and noticed my pet bunny, Mint looking up at me with its crossed eyes.
My new pet was a little... Well, special.
I found Mint out near a pond, nearly drowning herself. She was too handicapped for the wild, so I took her in as a pet. I had to be careful where I kept the scrap of fur however, because Kat's eagle, Alvie, apparently had no pity for the mentally challenged and would try to eat her. Kat told me to get rid of Mint and I would refuse; Mint would die without someone to care for her. I don't see why her pet should be favored over mine.
"I say we should rest here for the night," Cloud spoke up as she leaned against an Oak tree. Her wolf, Raven sat next to her, wagging her tail.
"For once I actually agree with you," Kat said as she stopped to stretch out her wings, her pet eagle Alvie, who was perched on her shoulder, followed suite.
"Aw, but I'm not tired yet!" Midnight protested as she stomped her foot, in a mock temper-tantrum.
What am I going to do with these lazy lumps of fur? I thought to myself teasingly, rolling my eyes up to heaven in mock despair.
"If you can't boss them around, you might as well join them," Anastasia said.
"Midnight if you don't shut up I'm going to make sure that we eat Fawn." Cloud said angrily with her eyes closed as Midnight gasped and ran over to fawn.
"You wouldn't dare!" she said, almost shouting.
"Watch me," Cloud said with a grin as she got ready to pounce on fawn.
"Okay, let's all settle down!" I said quickly before anyone's pet got eaten. Kat just sat, staring at us, struggling not to laugh.
"Kat, why don't you go get us some food?" I asked, hoping to calm everyone down.
"Ha!" Cloud laughed as she laid back down under her tree.
"Cloud, why don't you go with her?" I said as I saw her glare at me.
"Fine," she muttered as her, Kat, Alvie, and Raven headed off into the woods to find something to eat.
I looked over at Midnight and she was curled around Fawn, already asleep.
"Finally, some peace and quiet." Anastasia mumbled as I laughed in my head.
I couldn't agree more sis, I said jokingly as I laid back and looked at the sky, watching the clouds.
