PERSONALITY
Dae is known for taking care of others. He's highly empathetic, and has been with the company for a very long time, so has decided it's his responsibility to make sure every other trainee is informed, safe, and happy. However, it's not all business with Dae—he's really very silly and lighthearted, though sometimes this can cross the line into being obnoxious. He's also very creative, and a highly intelligent person.

BACKGROUND

Daejung was born and raised in Seoul, has lived here his whole life. He's rarely left the city, actually; the only reason he has an English name is because his father's business is international, and occasionally the family has traveled with him for business or been mentioned by his father.
Daejung was always a sweet kid, kind and thoughtful, and spent much of his childhood looking up to his older brother, Jihoon. The Song family was rather well-off, thanks to Daejung's father's business endeavors, but unlike stereotypical wealthy families, Daejung and his brother were encouraged to follow their own paths growing up, and weren't expected to take over "the family business", as it were. This was probably the best thing possible for both boys, who turned out to be more creative than either of their parents—Daejung's mother likes to joke that all the family creativity went into the sons. Though Daejung and his brother are three years apart, they are rather close, and confide in each other often.
Daejung actually wanted to pursue music for most of his life. However, he didn't think he could make it as an idol, so after graduating high school (which he did a year early), he went to school for music production. After completing his degree, Daejung got a job as a junior producer at Jem Entertainment. He was twenty-two at the time, and it was his first real job—one he probably wouldn't have landed if not for his older brother, already working with the company in graphic design. Jihoon put in a good word for Daejung, it's safe to say.
Daejung worked in production for a few months, until one of the rap coaches pulled him aside—he'd listened to one of Daejung's guide audios on recommendation of a more senior producer, and found that Daejung's rap skills were already almost as good as some of the company's longtime trainees. The company, he explained, thought it would be a good idea for Daejung to also be an idol trainee. They wouldn't try and pull him out of production completely—he was good at it and loved it—but they wanted him to try. Daejung, who'd never thought he would be good enough to be an idol, decided to give it a try.
And that paid off—after a lot of training and work, Daejung debuted as the leader of ZER0 only a couple of months ago, with some of his best friends at his side, and has even recently started dating a very cute boy.

dae thought renji (who he calls ji) was cute right away—dae's never been the super flirty type, but he couldn't help but be interested in renji. they started to hang out, and dae found himself feeling more and more drawn to renji, until (after a little encouragement from his friends) he decided to ask renji to be his boyfriend.
