Chapter Five
"Huh! Ethan!" Kayla cried out of panic. She was now frantic. What was going on with Ethan? Was he sick? Kayla reached out to Ethan's forehead. Or, at least tried to. Ethan passed out too far away from Kayla, so she couldn't check his temperature.
Kayla was about to shout to a guard to help her friend, but a bang on the bars of her cell stopped her. Apparently a guard walked up to her cell and banged his baton upon the bars.
"Be quiet!" he said, "You're causing a ruckus." Kayla looked around and saw that the other prisoners were trying to see what Kayla's outburst was about. She backed away from the bars and went sit on the ground near the back of the cell, considering she was the only thing in there.

Days had gone by, and not a single incident happened. Well, other than the fact that that one scientist forgot how he made werewolf D.N.A. and Dr. Eclair had a fit about that. However, when Kayla was brought into a training, today, she refused to do anything she was told to. She just stood there and watched. But that only came with consequences. Bad consequences, of course. After that "training session", she was thrown in her cell.
More days have passed, possibly months, where the same routine with Kayla happened. She refused to train, then was punished. Until one day, Kayla was sitting in her cell, when multiple footsteps were heard. The source of the footsteps were guards. But, they were guiding someone. A little girl. Kayla couldn't see her very well, since the guards were blocking her view. However, Kayla caught a glimpse of... light orange hair? She walked up to the front of the cell and tried looking again. This time she could since she saw their backs. Kayla confirmed that this little girl, did indeed have light orange hair. Wait, little girl? They're still bringing in test subjects?
Kayla's thoughts were interrupted by her cell door opening. A guard came inside a grabbed her arm, dragging her out. Kayla had learned to stop struggling. She stood still and glanced back towards the guards from earlier, but was pulled forward to start walking. They arrived to the training room, and Kayla started wondering, how would they be able to help her, if they aren't werewolves themselves? Did they help someone before her?
And as always, Kayla refused to do anything. Since the scientists were getting frustrated with her, they decided on a punishment that would "teach" her to listen to them. They started whipping her back. After each "training session" they would give 10 new injuries on her back. she'd return to her cell sore from the whip slashes. Kayla was actually surprised that she hasn't died from blood loss. However, they decided that whipping her back 30 times today would be a great idea. They only did this to help anger Kayla so she would turn into the wolf. They never succeeded, and they never would.
Suddenly, the room Kayla and some of the scientists were in, went dark. Everybody looked around confused. The power went out. The power never went out. The power of the lab ran solely on solar energy, which resulted in no power outages, unless there was a malfunction in the grid. A scientist tried to open the door to the hallway, only to remember that it only opens from electricity.
~🐺~
Dr. Eclair looked around the pitch black room. She was mad before, but now she was angry. She was interrupted by the sound of happy shouts and loud footsteps echoing through the hallway. Eclair walked over to the door and tried to pry it open. She opened it about a quarter inch and peeked out. She then face palmed at her stupidity. She couldn't see a thing. Just then, the power turned back on.
Eclair could finally see what the ruckus was about. She peeked out the door again, only to see some prisoners walking freely in the hallway(she could tell they were prisoners because of their ragged clothes). Eclair stepped back from the door and looked around her office. She walked over to her desk, and reached under for her gun. She stalked towards the door, and threw it open. The people near her whipped their heads towards her. They looked at her, terrified, for they knew who she was. She was the one who brought them all here. She was the reason why they had suffered for so long. But even in their anger, they only looked at Eclair with fear. If she got them in the cells one time, she could do it again. And she has.
"What do you think you're doing outside your cells?!" She screeched, "Get back to them! NOW!"
