Chapter Three
I suggest rereading the last two chapters. I changed a few things.
Kayla continued her way around the willow tree, trying to find the cave she came out of. However, it seemed to have disappeared.
She looked around in slightest confusion. How can a cave just suddenly disappear? Of course, this was just a dream. But Kayla didn't realize that.
A sudden growl caught her attention. Wait, growl? That sounded like a wolf growl. Uh no. If there's one wolf, there's bound to be others. That was trouble.
And without even looking, Kayla took off running down the roots of the willow. She kept running, and tried to push herself faster, but it was like things kept getting tied around her form to stop her from running. And that is what was happening.
Roots popped up from the ground, beside Kayla, and grabbed onto her arms, legs, and torso. Kayla broke free from them, but they just kept popping from the ground.
Eventually, Kayla escaped the wrath of roots after running down the willow for what seemed like hours. She continued running, though it still seemed like she was slowing down. She finally got to a small clearing, where she finally bent over to rest for a while. Kayla's hands rested on her bent knees and she panted heavily.
Her panting continued as voices ranged around the clearing. Yes, voices. They kept daying stuff like, "No! Stop! Don't take her away from me!" or "She's only 16!" and "That's the perfect age."
Kayla ceased her panting and placed her hands in her ears, trying to block out the voices. But it seemed that the voices were inside her head. She closed her eyes tight as she clutched her head, hoping the voices would go away. Kayla grunted as the voices seemed to get more intense.
"Get out!" Bad move.
A sudden growl came from somewhere. Kayla looked around, scared to death. The voices seemed to completely stop, but that didn't sorry her. It was the growl. A rustle came from some bushes across from Kayla. She looked in front, petrified in place.
It's like her body just froze. As if ice suddenly froze her body into an iceberg. Shadows crawled across the grass towards Kayla. They went behind her, and grabbed her own shadow, tugging behind her onto a tree's trunk. Roughly, the shadows kept Kayla attachted to the tree.
The bushes moved out of the way of something. Something big. A shadow came first. Then a wolf came rising out from the shadows. A demonic wolf. It's terrifying red eyes pierced right through Kayla's soul.
It opened its mouth and growled out, "You are a monster."
~🐺~
Kayla jerked her eyes open. She looked around, terrified of what might happen. Was that a dream, or a nightmare? She looked down at her dark shadow, eyes darkening as she recalled the nightmare.
Kayla shook her head to rid of those thoughts. She had to find a way out of this prison. She stood up and continued to think. Maybe she could let somehow turn into a wolf again when those people take her out of the cell. But, how would she be able to turn into a wolf? It was automatic the first time, but what about the second time? She continued pondering, until Kayla heard heels clicking against the floor.
~🐺~
Dr. Eclair decided to go talk to the successful experiment. The first weapon. Her tool. Eclair could attack so many places once she had her army of werewolves. However, she'd have to convince them all to join her side.
Eclair continued down the hall to the cell that held Kayla. The heels of her black boots clicking against the floor. She turned a corner into a hall that held many prisoners. Eclair stopped walking to stare down into the hall. She looked around with a sinister smile on her face.
Eclair continued walking down until she found the female brunette. She looked at the girl right in front of her. While the girl just stared back, Eclair's smile widened, if possible.
"So, girl," Eclair began, "How is officially being a monster?"
"I'm not a monster," Kayla defended.
"Oh, but you are. You killed those "innocent" scientist in that labortory. and not as a human. But as a ferocious beast. Face it darling. You've become a monster. However, if you just follow my instructions, you might be able to control that beast within." Eclair offered.
Kayla became shocked at this. The wolf inside her was something she had to control? Well of course she did. How else was Kayla suppose to turn back into the wolf. But, did she want to? Of course she didn't. That beast made her kill people.
While Kayla pondered, a sudden question came to her. Why? Why did this woman want to help Kayla? Was it got revenge on someone? Or was Eclair trying to be nice?
Kayla finally decided to ask, "Why do you want to help me control this?"
