Together

Should I make the above pic my new cover???
Just wondering. I'm kind of on the fence about it.

Monday is a nightmare.

Katie doesn't even wait for me at our usual spot. She's already with Brent and the others in the courtyard, sketching hard and waiting for the bell to ring. When I sit down, she doesn't even look up. Brent and the others can tell something's wrong, and their questioning looks make me feel even more uncomfortable.

Instead of waiting for the bell to ring, I go on ahead to my first period chemistry class and wait.

Katie has her assigned seat next to me, but she continues to ignore me. When I pass her a note asking what's wrong, she throws it in the trash can when she gets up to "sharpen her pencil."

She didn't even read it.

Fighting back tears, I struggle through the rest of the day. Eating lunch with Katie, Brent and the others is still to awkward, so I eat in the bathroom instead. All alone, with a ham-and-cheese sandwich I brought from home, and my favorite "Fairy Tail" graphic novel.

After lunch, I headed straight to the Driver's Ed. classroom, where Jack is already waiting. He had a folded-up piece of paper in his hand and a toothy, Natsu-y grin on his face.

"Okay, what are you up to?" I asked suspiciously, glad to be back to relaxed after a whole day of rigidness.

Jack continues to grin as he hands me the paper.

Slowly, I unfold it. It's a big, purple-and-yellow poster for the school's talent show in three weeks. I have seen these signs up all over school, I just didn't take the time to study them and see what they were all about.

I handed the poster back to him. "It's the school talent show. So what? All it is are a bunch of boys trying to lip-sync One Direction and off-key girls attempting to imitate Ariana Grande." I dismissed.

"Exactly." Jack agreed as I faced front.

"Which is why I think you should audition."

I stopped, slowly turning to face him.

"What did you say?" I asked, trying to clarify.

His grin widened, "You heard me. You should try out for the talent show."

Well, what did I have to loose? I could certainly sing better than any of those freshman or those seniors who thought that they were professional rappers. And if Jack thought I could do it, maybe I could.

"Okay." I grinned back at him, "I'm in."

"Rose!" Andre ran up to the white-haired girl as she sat alone in the chorus room after school.

"Hi, Andre!" Rose gave him a gentle smile. Despite the man who had raised her, and what he had trained her to be, Rose was in no way like Slade. She was polite and kind, and even after one week with the Titans, she was showing a lot more mercy than Slade Wilson ever did.

"Did you see this?" Andre unfurled the same, glossy, purple-and-yellow poster Jack had showed Rachel.

Rose took the poster from him, read over it a moment, and nodded. "The school talent show, yes. It should be fun!"

"We should enter!" Andre said, unable to keep the energetic smile off his face.

Rose gave him a quizzical look. "Are you saying that we should go to see it...together?" She asked innocently.

Andre shook his head and smiled wider, if that was even possible. "No, I'm saying that we should be in it. Together"
