—————— . . .   NICKOLAS LAWRENCE WAS A LOVER NOT A FIGHTER. He was merely five years old when he got punched in the face for the first time. (Granted, the other person was his twin brother, and it had only been the result of play fighting gone wrong.) Ever since then, he had been prone to being the peacemaker in any situation that he found himself in, whether that be arguments between his parents or dealing with bullies at school. It never seemed to work in his favor, though. So, he sat on the sidelines with his head lowered, tail tucked between his legs. He refused to draw attention to himself and refused to let anyone get too close. Just until he could go to college.

THE UNIVERSE DIDN'T AGREE WITH THAT PLAN. Because his father decided to open a karate dojo in his sophomore year of high school and Nickolas allowed himself to be roped in to joining it alongside his new neighbor. He didn't see it getting anywhere (he would never tell Johnny that, though.) He assumed it would be something that would dissolve after a week or so either from low attendance or the lack of funds. Once again, the universe laughed at him by having it all blow up in his face the moment Miguel decided to put Cobra Kai on the internet to gain traction.

NOW NOT ONLY DOES NICKOLAS HAVE TO DEAL WITH SURVIVING HIGH SCHOOL, BUT HE ALSO HAS TO SURVIVE THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS OF LEARNING KARATE (with his father as the teacher.) Though, as he followed in his father's footsteps, he realized that maybe staying on the sidelines wasn't exactly what he wanted. Maybe it was never what he wanted. And maybe, just maybe, karate isn't the only thing he's learning.
