Chapter Eight
Yoongi's POV
(Since it's his B-Day)
I sighed as my mom opened my door and turned towards the light switch and flipped it upwards. The bright light stung my eyes, being way brighter than the lamp I had on my desk.
"Honey, someone's at the door for you." She said. She closed my door and left my light on so that I would at least have to stand up to turn it off. I rolled my eyes and stood up from my chair to turn on the light. I looked down at myself and realized how lazy I looked.
I put on different clothes and threw away my empty bottle of water on my way to the door.
When I get to the door, I hesitated.
Who's here to see me?
Hoseok usually just walks in when he gets here, or sneaks through my window at night time to hang out. Namjoon usually calls my mom before he gets here and then he has a conversation with her before I even realize he's inside of my house, talking to my mom.
It's been a while since either have came here.
I lift the heels of my feet to look through the peep hole of the door. My eyes widened once I see a whole vision of Jungkook at my doorstep.
What the hell?
I straighten my posture and exhale before opening the door hesitantly. As soon as I open the door, Jungkook gives me a smile.
"Hi," He chirps as he looks down at me.
I look at him in confusion as he nonchalantly stood at my door. "How do you know where I live?" I asked him while biting my lip.
"Honey," I heard my mom say from behind me. She pushed me to the side and smiled at Jungkook. He smiled back, showing his usual bunny looking smile that made his eyes smile along with it. "Don't be rude. He's cute."
She looked back at me and smiled innocently as I turned furious at her words. "Mom, I'm not-" I sighed and closed my eyes to relax myself. "Why is Jungkook here?" I asked.
"Come inside, Jungkook." My mom said to him, ignoring me. He walked inside of my house while looking into my eyes. "Yoongi's piano is upstairs, he'll lead you there." She said as she turned to wink at me.
Piano? Piano lessons?
"Why do you want piano lessons?" I asked him once my mom walked away. He shrugged and looked around with curious eyes.
"I've always wanted to learn an instrument," Jungkook said as he led himself to the staircase. "You obviously have a passion for it, so what's so bad about wanting to learn from someone who is genuine about it?" He asked.
I stepped towards the stairs and rolled my eyes. I muttered a 'Nothing' before taking his hand and dragging him slowly up the stairs.
He walked kind of slow because he no longer had his crutches with him, so I went slower to even out the pace. My lips were pressed into a thin line as we made it to my bedroom.
"I didn't picture your room looking like this." Jungkook said as he walked into my room as if it were his own. He sat on my bed and I cringed as I remember making out with some girl in the same spot, in the same position.
"Why are you imagining my room?" I asked him as I sat at my piano with furrowed brows.
"I could say that it's because I'm curious, but that would be lying to you." He shrugged.
I faced the piano and looked down at the keys. What does he even mean by.. lying..?
"Wait a minute-"
"Play a song for me, I wanna hear." He cut me off before I even had a chance to speak. I furrowed my eyebrows at him and then rolled my eyes as I turned back to my piano. I started playing a song that I enjoyed playing as I spread my fingers across the piano keys.
As I was playing, Jungkook stood up and came to sit by me, making me scoot over on the piano bench with a pout. When I finished, I looked up at him. "Favorite song." I muttered.
He looked down at the keys and smiled. "You play really good," He said as he pressed a key lightly with his large finger. "Better than I'll be, but I can always try." He laughed lightly.
My lips curved into a smile that I tried to conceal. I took his hand and placed his three fingers on keys. He pressed them all down at the same time and his eyes gleamed with joy.
"Oh my God!" Jungkook cheered. "That actually sounded right that time!"
I laughed and pressed my hand against my face to hide my puffed up cheeks. He tends to make me act like a twelve year old school girl with their crush, and I'm not sure how or why.
My dad had always taught me that being gay wasn't okay. He would tell me that he'd rather find out that I got a girl pregnant instead of telling him that I was gay. My mom was the complete opposite. We are way closer to each other and my dad is always out somewhere and he comes back about once a week. My mom tells me that being gay is okay and that she would love me even if my dad didn't.
But the thing is, I don't want my dad to hate me. I don't want my dad to look at me and say "what a disgrace" or "you're a mistake." I don't want to live that way. I won't live that way.
Ever since my dad has started talking about what kind of person he was in high school, I started following his footsteps. I was already friends with Namjoon and Hoseok, so I wasn't going to leave them, but I had to change.
Both Namjoon and Hobi knew.
They knew that I was changing because of my father. That's the reason that they stopped coming over so much. They thought that I was stupid for doing what my dad wanted. They said that I shouldn't follow his mistakes just because he thought that I was the mistake.
My dad always had a girl by his side and he was always the tough guy who fought anyone in his way. So, that's what I become. A monster.
Everyone started to fear my sudden change.
Even I still fear it.
I looked up at Jungkook who was already looking down at me. "Why don't you laugh more often?" He asked as his face softened.
My face changed color as I looked away to hide my expression. "I'm going to teach you the notes on the piano now, oka-"
"You should laugh more often, Yoongi." He said as he grabbed my face and forced me to look at him. I looked straight into his big eyes and mine widened as I saw how close he was.
"I- I will." I said as I grabbed his hand and forced it away from my face. I swallowed a lump in my throat and it started getting hot in my small room.
I stood up and looked through my closet to find a T-shirt. I turned to Jungkook and he was staring at me. "Look away." I said to him.
He chuckled and raised an eyebrow. "We're guys, who cares if I see your body?" He asked.
I furrowed my eyebrows and squinted my eyes at him as I took the hanger from the shirt off. "I care. Now turn around." I said. He rolled his eyes and turned away, leaving me to change.
Once I put on the shirt, I sat back next to him.
"Now, let me teach you-"
"Whoops, times up." Jungkook said as he looked at his watch. It had already been an hour and my mouth gaped open as I looked up at him. "Guess I'll see you tomorrow." He said as he walked out of my room with a smile.
My mouth still hung open and I furrowed my eyebrows. He didn't even learn anything..?
I looked at the piano and noticed a twenty dollar bill on it. You must be kidding me.
Did he just pay to sit in my room?
