Chapter Seven
Jungkook's POV
"Where the hell is he?" Jimin asked me as he paced the classroom with a frown on his face.
"We have twenty minutes until class starts," I said as I sat at my desk. Jimin was worrying about where Yoongi was at and I was worrying about whether or not that I cared. "He will be here soon, give him time. Our project is finished anyways, it's not like we didn't do our work." I said as I pulled out a banana from my bag and started peeling it slowly.
"Yeah, But- Oh I'm sorry." He said.
I looked up from my banana and saw that Jimin was now attached to Namjoon. He had a smile on his face that showed a deep dimple.
"It's okay, Minie." Namjoon said. "You look like you need something to calm you down, maybe.. a cupcake?" He said as he pushed his blue and white cupcake towards Jimin's face.
Jimin smiled and took it cheerfully. "Thank you!" He cheered to Namjoon. I went back to eating my banana and shrugged. I had never really talked to Namjoon before, other than asking for a piece of paper or pencil. He seemed like a nice guy, and everyone in the whole school got along with him well.
He's the whole school's friend.
"You're welcome." Namjoon said as he sat in his desk a row away from mine.
"Where's Yoongi at?" Jimin asked.
Namjoon frowned at looked down at his desk as he fiddled with his pencil. "He's not coming to school today." He said with an almost sad voice. "He.. He's busy." Namjoon looked up as Hoseok walked inside. He waved at Taehyung and smiled brightly at Namjoon once Tae finally walked away after waving at me and Jimin with his famous box smile.
"Yoongi can't be busy, we're supposed to turn in our project!" Jimin almost screeched.
Hoseok poked out his lips and sat down. "Just turn it in without him." He shrugged. "Just as long as his name is on it, he'll get credit."
Jimin's face softened and he stopped pacing with his cupcake in his hand. "Oh," he finally sat down and relaxed upon hearing what Hoseok had told him. I laughed lightly and felt eyes on me. I turn to see Namjoon and Hoseok both staring at me and I stopped laughing.
"You don't really talk much," Namjoon said.
I shifted my eyes to Jimin and he rolled his eyes at me. "He's shy," Jimin said to both of the other boys. "He's a little weird, too."
"No I'm not!" I defended myself.
"Oh, he speaks!" Hoseok screeched.
I scrunched up my nose and crossed my arms. "I'm not talkative, but I'm not weird." I pouted. Jimin laughed and hit my arm as he leaned forward. He tends to hit me or fall over me every single time he laughs. Namjoon looked at us and frowned as Hoseok looked at him.
I shrugged Jimin off of me and he went back to normal, looking over the essay and pictures.
I smiled at Namjoon and he smiled back. I gave him a thumbs up and winked at him. Maybe I can get Jimin to stop complaining about being single and having no love life.
This will benefit me and Namjoon.

"Kookie, look!" My mom said as I was putting my bag down on the floor. I had just gotten back from a long day of school, turning in the project and taking tests and notes all day. I looked at my mom and she was holding up a piece of white paper towards me.
"What's this?" I ask as I take it. I look down at it with furrowed eyebrows. It had a number on it and at the very bottom I saw 'Min Yoongi.' I smiled once I saw the name and looked further into the paper. It was an advertisement.
"Do you remember how you told me you wanted to learn an instrument?" My mom asked me as she handed me a plate of cookies. I took one off and placed it into my mouth.
"Yes," I mumble as the cookie moved.
"Well, I made a new friend today at my new job," She set the plate of cookies to the side and sat on our couch. "She told me that her son gave piano lessons, that's how he makes money. And now that I have a better job and more money.. I can get you those lessons if you still want them." She said with a smile.
I smiled back at her. "Yoongi knows how to play the piano?" I asked myself as I looked at the paper. My mom looked at me weirdly.
"So, you know her son?" She asked. I nodded my head and looked up at her.
"Can you call for me and get me piano lessons?" I asked her. I knew that if I called Yoongi, he would know that it was my voice. "Don't say my name, give them yours. I want to.. uh.. surprise Yoongi." I lied.
"Okay, will do!" She cheered as I put my crutches against the wall and tried to walk without them. It worked pretty well, I just couldn't put much pressure on my foot.
It's about time I don't need crutches.
As many times as I've fell or been pushed away from my crutches, I've gotten used to not having them to support my poor foot.
When I walked into my room upstairs, I plopped onto my bed and sighed to myself. Uneventful days made me unsatisfied. I like to have fun, but nothing really happened today.
I stand up and go down to the door, telling my mom that I'll be back soon. I started practicing walking with my foot and I headed towards the park that I pass every day to school.
When I finally get there, I sit at a swing set to try and rest my foot. A little practicing won't hurt, but I still need to keep it rested well.
I tilt my head in confusion as I look at a tree across the park. Surprisingly, Hoseok and Taehyung were at the tree.. kissing..?
That's- I mean.. I'm glad that Hoseok got Tae, but did Taehyung move on that quickly?
Or did he fall in love that quickly?
Yeah, Hoseok is a very nice guy. And yes, Taehyung can be a little naive sometimes.. but I know that he isn't doing it just for the hell of it. Taehyung has always talked about wanting to be loved and wanting to have someone there for him. Maybe he found exactly what he wanted. Maybe he found 'The One.'
I smile and look at the ground as I swing a little. I feel the presence of another person and soon enough, someone sits in the swing next to mine. I look over at them and my eyes widen once I see Yoongi gripping onto the chain of his swing with no expression on his face.
"Hi," He said quietly as he stared off into the park. He scrunched up his nose, probably seeing his best friend stick his tongue into another guy's mouth while pinning him to a tree. I laugh lightly as he furrows his brows.
"Hey," I said to him after I stopped laughing. "Why weren't you at school today?" I asked.
He looks down and frowns a little. "Do you really want to know why?" He asked me.
I nodded my head and he sighed. "My dad." Was all he said. I waited for him to go further, and he realized. "Can I trust you to keep your mouth shut?" He asked me and I nodded. He sighed once again and continued. "My dad isn't the greatest. I had some problems with him this morning and.. that's all." He said.
"That's.. all?" I asked him curiously.
He looked up into my eyes for a couple of seconds. "That's all." He whispered to me and then hesitated before looking away.
He started swinging a little, looking like a kid. I smiled and tried to hide it, looking away. "Tae and Hoseok, huh?" I said as I looked at them.
Yoongi nodded. "Yeah, Hobi has had a crush on that kid for years now." He laughed.
"Hobi?" I asked. Yoongi looked up at me and rolled his eyes. "You wouldn't understand. It's a nickname that everyone calls him." He said.
"Oh," I felt my phone buzz and I looked at the message:
Mom
Looks like you have lessons now! :)
I smiled and put my phone back in my pocket. "So, I heard you knew how to play piano." I said to Yoongi. He lifted his head and smiled at me brightly and genuinely.
I had never seen his genuine smile. Just a smile that he had always forced on himself. His genuine smile showed his little teeth and gums as his eyes sparkled and squinted together.
"Yes, I play piano." He said as he started drawing in the dirt with his foot. He mumbled something that I couldn't hear and sighed.
"That's really cool," I said with a smile on my face. "It takes talent to learn such a thing."
Yoongi looked up at me with wide eyes and I looked back at him in confusion. His face went from soft to confused to uncomfortable.
"I gotta go," He suddenly said.
Before I could say anything, he already left.
